  • Umm, no.

  • @bamjess

    Ok....

Im wondered why that never happened me before in all my life using macs.

  • Because you were lucky? a doy.

  • i have ubuntu and windows. i seem to like windows more

  • Between windows, mac, and linux, I have to choose linux. The whole thing is amazing, its open source, you can override file executions with one simple makefile, its basically re-writing a game to your needs. Simple + Flexible, and since I work with coding, ubuntu can program for mac, windows, and linux.

But for gaming... I switch to windows, the mac i use for video editing.

  • why do you have to reply to a comment 9 months old?

  • same problem. at the apple store for repair.

  • yup same thing happening to me, so annoying!

  • yea, the dvd player crashes my macbook too, and i'm starting to conclude that it has to do with using the dvd drive with another app before opening the dvd player.... mine only crashes after i have used mac the riper, other than that, i just restart if i want to watch something... i know its an easy fix too, so annoying!!

  • its not the dvd drive, its the graphics driver x3100 they are not so good at the moment needs a much better driver

  • oh ok, but does that make sense if it only crashes after I use mac the ripper? As far as I know, that app wouldn't do anything unusual with the graphics driver...

  • I thought macs didn't crash.

There goes apples only selling point :P

  • You're an idiot.

Only people who for some stupid reason hate Macs propagate the MYTH that they supposedly never crash.

EVERY computer systems suffers from crashes. Anyone not a retard (or a closet Mac Hater) knows this.

Macs have many, MANY selling points: The fact they are light years superior to WinBlows is simply one. ;-)

    Have a GREAT day!

  • I have a mac and a pc. neither is better than the other. but then, im not a stupid little fanboy who sees the need to like one OS over the other.

have a GREAT day, idiot. [:

  • yep. my new macbook (x3100 chipset) totally has the same problem. i haven't used the dvd player yet but it crashes when running warcraft or playing long flash games/videos online. i have read that apple is working on the problem...

  • add some RAM the DVD player takes up alot of RAM so it cant decide what to do and goes into a kernal panic. (or at least thats my theory)

and i get a panic because (what the computer log says) my graphics chip is failing, do i just need an upgrade and if so where can i get that upgrade!

  • I'm pretty sure it has to do with the new X3100 GMA intel graphic chip. not sure if it's failing (Apple Hardware Test didn't find anything.)

Also, my MacBook has 4GB of RAM, so I'm good on that end too.

  • how can up upgrade an integrated graphics chip, its soldered onto the mothered board take it back to apple they will replace it

  • Yep. Me too.

A lot of us are getting it. I've tried resets, trashing prefs files, zapping PRAM, and other things.

Works on reboot, then wait a while, and the DVD Player causes kernel panic again.

HATE it. It's the first time I've EVER had a kernel panic on a Mac.
