  • Ive had mine bobbed out for a few months now and Im pretty happy with it except for the tank. the whole bike is slender except for that damn 3.5 gallon tank! thanks for letting us know it is possible to get a sporty tank on there lol

  • nice stickers

  • handle bars are totally shit, put them back on your grand mothers bicycle!

  • Stickers ruin the bike

  • did you paint the engine your self? The bike looks sick.

  • i really dont know much about Bikes and i am looking to get a Honda Shadow what is "BOBBER"?

  • what year is the frame. how did extend the drive shaft?

  • what do you recommend for a stretched back fork?? i just bought a 86vt 500 and love the back stretched fork look. how did you lengthen the drive shaft? do they sell kits...any help is appreciated..

  • wish i had

  • Is the frame on this bike still the original Honda shadow frame? cause correct me if i'm wrong... the shadow frame has a shock absorber at the back i think... no disrespect to the OP tho...just asking...

  • That is really nice. Do you have any pictures of this bike as you were modifying it. I have an 83 honda shadow as well and this video is giving me the inspiration to do something similar. What tank is that off of? What seat is that?....Thanks

  • @BrianPay3 I don't have any progress pics or vids. That was a mistake on my part. The tank is a sportster tank. I had to cut off the twin backbone of the frame and weld in a single backbone so the tank would fit right. I welded in a couple of wishbones from the backbone to the swingarm to complete the frame and give some place to support the seat.

  • my next project

  • @BrianPay3 that tank looks like an HD sportster tank...

  • Very nice! I have an 85 vt500c I am collecting parts for the bobber look.

Couple questions... where did you get the forward controls from?

...are those the stock bars? (I was thinking of drag bars)

...How tall are you? I'm 5'10" and sit on the pass seat now to be comfortable...

Again, great job! I would love to pick your brain more but I'll leave you be... (for now!)

  • Thanks. I made the forward controls. The bars are off of a Kawasaki. I used them because they sorta looked like mini apes. I'm 5'9" and this bike is a little small for me. I built it for my wife. Thanks for the comment and good luck on the bobber build. Let me know how it's going. Keep in touch.

  • Where did you relocate the 2 boxes that were underneath the passenger seat to?

  • @tenprops They are still there under the seat behind the covers. They are actually sitting on top of the battery.

  • Good lookin bobber, man!

  • @draywanda Thanks

  • also have you adjusted the suspension or is that stock hight? very nice bike

  • Thanks. I lowered it as much as I could.

  • @docterelliott No, I lowered the bike in the front and the rear. I also raked the front end out.

  • is that a wider tire and/or wheel on the rear?

  • No, it's the stock size wheel. The tire is a bit bigger though.

  • is it a custom frame? or a weld on hardtail? if so where did you get it? thanks

  • No, it's the old frame, but I cut the top section off of the back end and added a custom section.

  • Is that a rigid shaft drive?

I always thought the shaft drive would rip its self apart.

  • Yep, it's a shaft drive

  • man thats the best example of a jap custom ive ever seen

  • Thank

  • Wow. Congratulations of how it turned out. Turning out exactly like you imagined is impressive.
