Now, I'll admit that I like to have Fender on my headstock, but I ain't about to pay Fender that much for a stupid name; no, I'll buy a warmoth neck which is made to my specifications with an unfinished fender style head stock and after I've ordered my neck, I'll order the water slide decals that Fender uses and put Fender on the headstock myself.
Pete are you sure that it's just not a bad 9 volt battery in your multimeter, i forget and leave mine on all the time and it drains the battery, also try not to hold the leads with your hands since your body may effect the readings, hey man i know two facts about electronics, and both of them are WRONG, lol, lol just trying to help
cool i dont know shit about guitars. Did not know Fenders suck but i will take Petes word for it. I do have a Original 64 Fender.Hell i cant play it. Have no idea on the value but one guy told me $15,000. I see anything close to that in money i will let it go by by lol.
My cheapie has a thin pick guard...can you tell me the benefit of a multi layered one...I'm thinking less "noise" from the stiffer one...I also want to change the pickups to a better set.
@ziggassedup What kind of guitar do you have??? a two-ply pickgaurd is only for the design, when the edge is beveled you see a pinstripe around the edge.. If your guitar is actually a cheapo you might ought to see what kind of wood it's made out of first.. If the body is made of plywood or inexpensive stuff, it won't be worth the time to put in different pickups... Let me know. Pete
@swrnc It's a Monterey stage series...strat copy...no idea how old....a couple of dings....neck is strait...intonation is good...a bit weak on the neck pick up on the high strings...I haven't tried it on a good amp....only bad thing i've found is the frets need filing down a bit.

Nicely done
I have an SX strat and am looking for a 5 way pickup selector switch for it.
Will standard fender start parts work for any company strat guitar?
Also do u know of any reliable website from where I can buy guitar parts?
Thanks

A typical single-coil pickup usually reads around 5k to 6k ohms. 'Can be more if it is over-wound or if it's a stacked dual-coil.
