  • Thrilling!!!!!!

  • I always wondered what this would sound like as performed by Jessica Simpson...would've been a nice way to get back at all those Christian music producers who refused to sign her as a teenager because she was too gorgeous. So who's laughing now!?

  • I thank God everyday that I've had the honor to witness this tour!! When I'm down.. this is the song that i turn to...

  • There is only one PETRA ! ! !

  • Love this song but its begging for at least a good 45 second solo at least thats how I would have done it.

  • There's more message in ten seconds of this song than 90% of any "Christian Rock" you hear today. Thank you, Lord, for Petra.

  • @mbryan718

I disagree, what's wrong with the Christian Rock you hear today? Have you heard of Skillet, Red, Fireflight and Flyleaf? :)

  • I can't wait to play the electric guitar like that!!!! And everything for praise the lord!!! Love it... LOVE YOU JESUS!!!

  • I can wait to learn to play the electric guitar like that... and for Jesus... I can imagen... Love Jesus!!!!!!

  • Saw them in concert for this album, and have never forgotten it even 20 years later. Thank you for posting the song and lyrics!

  • I love this song!!!!

  • Great christian message in this song.

  • PETRA forever

  • HEY!! ON FIREEE!!!!!

  • This song rocks.

    Petra at their VERY BEST.

Huge John Schlitt fan. Great guy, great voice.

  • ONe of thier best songs on this record....Holy Cow....Its been a long time!

  • I think the best petra album around is beyond belief

  • sounds like winger, slughter, dlr, kix thrown in to a melting pot! and it's killer!

  • Loved the album...this song does have a sound reminescent of ACDC though...miss spinning this album back @ the radio station I worked @ in Bama back in the early 90s!

  • This Means War is my favorite of Petra's power rock era.

  • (Matthew 16:24-26)

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

  • (John 14:22-24)

Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

  • It's been 20 years since I bought Petra's "On Fire!" album... maybe 10 to 15 years since I listened to it last. Thank you for posting this. The song's message and music are as timely now as they were back then- maybe more so as I'm further down my Christian walk.
