This is an amazing song that shows the truith of Phil's Lynott's life. I love this song and I certainly don't know it all. All I know is Thin Lizzy and Phil's spirit will always be kept alive as long as people keep playing his music.
Love this song! I´ve got the 7 inch, It´s great. Also have a lot of Lizzy/Lynott OGWT shows and plenty of other stuff on VHS. I hope that someday I´ll learn how to convert it and post it on YT! Cheers!
great song philip wish to god you was still here to day the world is a duller place without you and the rock seen has gone to shit since you died any genuine people who want to start a band simlar to thin lizzy and take it all the way to fame because me I'm hungry for fame and want it like philip like there is no tomorrow anybody intrested??????????
I personally think Lizzy was underrated because they were in a time when punk rock was starting to take centre stage, disco was rearing it's head and Led Zeppelin and ACDC were taking centre stage in the rock world. They weren't even that well known in the UK which is right next door to Ireland.
he looks very good for this late year ('81), too bad he died ... :( one can only imagine what incredible tunes he would have created if he would be still alive.
Huey Lewis is the only guy who has respected the great one over the years. I think his band is shit but have total regard for his comments about Phil and Lizzy over the years. A top-man,
I have never seen/heard this track before and as someone who got into Phil and Thin Lizzy in 1973 all I can say is "what a load of self indulgent shit". PLEASE if you've never seen much of Phil Lynott before then forget this clip and look for some of the great Thin Lizzy songs from 1971 onwards before drugs took their hold and this great man lost his way. As a teenager he was my hero and it breaks my heart to see this performance.
7 lines isn't a novel. You misunderstand my comments. I think that Phil Lynott was a great man. I got into Lizzy in 73 and like most the stuff that he did with them and as a solo artist. Maybe that makes me a bit too old for hero worship but I can see that most stuff he did was great but some stuff not so good. In my opinion this doesn't stand up with his best. If that upsets some and they call me a "knob" or other such abuse then that just shows how insecure they are with their own views.
Right after I read "what a load of self indulgent shit", I stopped reading because I can play my head that all that follows is yet more "self indulgent shit".
phil at his best. What a great musician he was.i love all of his songs. He was one of the greatest live performers the world has ever seen.he also had surrounded a lot of other great musicians around him.I love this charismatik guy.
I owe this guy a lot...Very few bands have made the hairs on my neck stand up...lizzy did it in style. The most underated song writer ever. I wont forget you Philo RIP
That's amazing and so rare to hear something that good. I'm so sorry I was too young to appreciate Thin Lizzy when my Dad was playing them back in the day.
Wow - never heard this song before. Just take a close listen to the lyrics, sooooo personal to what Phil was going through at that time in his life (as we have found out with the benefit of hindsight). Reduced this grown man to tears I can tell you...

And for those of you who think this is self-indulgent, why don't you have a look at Gary Moore?

All I can say is that if Philo had lived Thin Lizzy would be one of the biggest bands ever and U2 would be just seen as a pack of Rock wannabes.

The only thing self-indulgent here is your stupid response to this video. If you hate it so much, why are you writing a novel about it?
Nice response Zealberg. This song was basically written for people like DaGeBu.
