  • you were THE leader...i miss you....

  • Great harmonica from "bluesy Huey", as always with Phil and Lizzy, many songs sound better live...

  • THE MAN!!!!!!!!

  • This is an amazing song that shows the truith of Phil's Lynott's life. I love this song and I certainly don't know it all. All I know is Thin Lizzy and Phil's spirit will always be kept alive as long as people keep playing his music.

  • Fuckin hell man Phil ...Mr Cool ...

  • Lynott is a genius!

  • Philhad a hand in so many people's careers and never gets any credit for it. That's Huey Lewis there, on harmonica.

  • la verdad se lo merece , se merece el reconocimiento mundial!! es un genio....tan simple como bello lo que hace con la música......impecable....

  • thanks for the video man

  • so sad singing about his downfall - Boys and Girls dont take drugs

  • agreed his solo career is really underrated!

  • 1 word,, Genious

  • Love this song! I´ve got the 7 inch, It´s great. Also have a lot of Lizzy/Lynott OGWT shows and plenty of other stuff on VHS. I hope that someday I´ll learn how to convert it and post it on YT! Cheers!

  • He knew he was the epitome of cool, didn't he?...

And for those of you who think this is self-indulgent, why don't you have a look at Gary Moore?

  • This is GOOD man, cheers!

  • This song is so much better than Together

  • All I can say is that if Philo had lived Thin Lizzy would be one of the biggest bands ever and U2 would be just seen as a pack of Rock wannabes.

  • Anyone with any semblance to taste in music knows this.

  • I personally think Lizzy was underrated because they were in a time when punk rock was starting to take centre stage, disco was rearing it's head and Led Zeppelin and ACDC were taking centre stage in the rock world. They weren't even that well known in the UK which is right next door to Ireland.

  • theres a reaon metallica wants thin lizzy in the r &f hall of fame..

  • Who can resist this song? Also love his Dennis The Menace style cardigan. I want one! Rocking. What a smooth cat

  • That is class.

  • awesome song, awesome band, awesome man.

  • I'd love the lyrics to this song but cannot find anywhere :(

  • u died just when i started to love your music.

  • he looks very good for this late year ('81), too bad he died ... :( one can only imagine what incredible tunes he would have created if he would be still alive.

  • what else to say???

  • So stone!

  • Huey Lewis is the only guy who has respected the great one over the years. I think his band is shit but have total regard for his comments about Phil and Lizzy over the years. A top-man,

  • have you seen HLN version of "the boys are back in town" here on youtube?! i think is GREAT.

  • better on cd RIP phil

  • bollocks. Listen to the lyrics you knob and work it out!!

  • who do YOU think you are

are you bored of the whole musical scene?

i reckon you are on the lunatic fringe

...but as silly as it seems

...phil was living out your dreams

(but then again i'm messed up...i should shut up)

  • fuck that man

are you some kind of a hater?

    shut the hell up

    phil rest in peace

  • The only thing self-indulgent here is your stupid response to this video. If you hate it so much, why are you writing a novel about it?

Nice response Zealberg. This song was basically written for people like DaGeBu.

  • 7 lines isn't a novel. You misunderstand my comments. I think that Phil Lynott was a great man. I got into Lizzy in 73 and like most the stuff that he did with them and as a solo artist. Maybe that makes me a bit too old for hero worship but I can see that most stuff he did was great but some stuff not so good. In my opinion this doesn't stand up with his best. If that upsets some and they call me a "knob" or other such abuse then that just shows how insecure they are with their own views.

  • listen to the lyrics dick head. he wasn't trying to right a boys are back in town or an emerald. this for himself. You wanker

  • DaGeBu..."Lend me your ear while i call you a fool"...thats all i have to say to you.

  • twat

  • Right after I read "what a load of self indulgent shit", I stopped reading because I can play my head that all that follows is yet more "self indulgent shit".

  • Phil Lynott will always rock this world, his guitar will be heard all over the universe. R I P Phil i love you. xxxxxxxxxxx

  • Bass, not guitar.....

  • ohh ok bass

  • This track ROCKS! ..... as you know!

    Another one for our vault...

  • lizzy rule phil is and was a god period

  • I'm a little embarrassed that I recognised Huey Lewis before I read the full write up.

Does that make me very old and sad?

  • tu etais vraiment le meilleur phil

  • Really? I'd never heard of him before two minutes ago.

  • Where do you live? The moon?

Or are you just very very young?

  • Define very young.

  • Oh, I dunno.... 17-18?

  • Yes. I'm very very young.

  • rare!! encore une turie signee lynott, mercie

  • What a great video and song. Phil was the greatest!!! RIP Phil Lynott!!!!!!!

  • You were and still are soo damn amazing Phil. miss you so much. Bridget xxxxx

  • phil at his best. What a great musician he was.i love all of his songs. He was one of the greatest live performers the world has ever seen.he also had surrounded a lot of other great musicians around him.I love this charismatik guy.

  • Thanks for sharing such a rare moment.

Much appreciated by a Lizzy fan of old.

  • if anyone has an mp3 of this...I would appreciate if they sent it to me...

  • Phil is the man

  • Wow! Thanks a million for this one, one of my favorite Lynott songs although it's only a B-side.

  • This song is so good....Phil Lynott <3 R.I.P

  • I owe this guy a lot...Very few bands have made the hairs on my neck stand up...lizzy did it in style. The most underated song writer ever. I wont forget you Philo RIP

  • That's amazing and so rare to hear something that good. I'm so sorry I was too young to appreciate Thin Lizzy when my Dad was playing them back in the day.

  • NO WORDS CAN DESCRIBE THE BEST ...

  • Wow - never heard this song before. Just take a close listen to the lyrics, sooooo personal to what Phil was going through at that time in his life (as we have found out with the benefit of hindsight). Reduced this grown man to tears I can tell you...

  • As I see these video's I realise that I miss Phil Lynott a lot!

  • That's Huey Lewis on the harp!

  • I love very song u did Phil. Thankyou for this one. xxxx
