  • @Scarlettwolfy Thats the point, You can't expect us to translate it perfectly and make it sound good.

  • pure evil

  • Comment removed

  • This is a great version!!

My other favorites: Finnish, Korean, German and Russian versions

  • Thumbs up u want ERock to take the challenge...

  • ლ(ಠ益ಠ)ლ WHY I CAN NO UNDERSTAND!?!?!?!

  • 1:21 Best scene ever

  • @smalltownfangirl28: Think of John F. Kennedy (or anybody from his neck of the woods) say "turn" and you're almost there. It is a german O Umlaut with a bit of an a at the end to soften it up. Word with a little bit of a at the end of the o will also do.

  • @thepester Thanks!! I'm getting the hang of it now. ^^

  • Oh my...and to think I clicked this by accident...ICELANDIC SCAR! GET ON MY IPOD NOW!

  • cool

  • Aha, so I'm beginning to learn Icelandic, but just one thing: I can't find a definite pronunciation for ö. Some sources say "ah", some say "ur", etc. I don't know. Anyone? ^^'

  • @smalltownfangirl28

it's like the 'U' in 'Urgent' or the 'O' in 'word'

  • This version is more evil then the german o.O

I speak icelandic and german AND i live in sweden so i understand and this one is creepy o.O

He's litarly singing killing and that blood shal like paint the world where he stands or something like that o.O

  • Definitely one of my favourite versions of this tune. :)

  • its realy diffrent voices in English

  • wow is this how i think french ppl saw it KOOL

  • is voice needs to be bit heavier.

  • 3 manneskjur eru ekki eins svalar og íslenski Skari !

3 people aren't as cool as the icelandic Scar !

  • Eg elska Scar :)

  • Interesting Icelandic quotes have their quotations below in the beginning..

  • Aahh, Skari, lifandi staðreynd fyrir að badass'ness sé ennþá til í 'essum heimi :)

  • I wish they would translate this better :( all the lyrics are different than the origonal in English. It's very beautiful, though. But in this one he seems meaner than usual, as if they were slaves. But in the orrigonal, he is convincing them.

  • @Scarlettwolfy In this one he is not convincing only ordering because he is a cool lion with a plan

  • @Scarlettwolfy For Disney, translating songs is not only about the meaning. The words gotta fit the lips movements. You can't put any words you want to make an exact translation. But still, I agree that the lyrics are somwhwat far from the originals.

  • icelandic is really beutiful, I'm going to learn!

(someone who know how hard it is? I speak swedish/någon som vet hur svårt det är att lära sig isländska om man pratar svenska?)

  • @Aniaifieh kan förstå det : D

  • @Aniaifieh

Vocabulary will be easy for you to build because of the great amount of similarities between the languages, but Icelandic grammar is less degraded in comparison to Swedish and the other mainland Scandinavian languages, so you might have quite a bit of difficulty in learning that. Proper pronunciation might be an issue at first as well.

  • @HojoOSanagi

thanks for telling me everything:) Guess it will take some time then... but would be so cool to be able to speak icelandic, so have to learn, hehe

  • Ótrúlegt ótrúlegt ótrúlegt.

  • I love the Icelandic language.

In this song from the Lion King it sounds even more "evil" than german ;-)

This dub seems very well made and the voices fit very well. A very good job job considering the small target audience (only 300.000 people in the world speak Icelandic)

  • Comment removed

  • thats my dad haha

  • Þú átt klárlega svalasta pabba í heimi.

  • Comment removed

  • Never heard/seen the icelandic version of "be prepared" before.

I liked it a lot. Thanks for uploading it. ^^

  • Ahahahah I forgot how funny this is, "Er hann veikur?", best part ever.

  • Awesome! Every version of this song I find is scarier than the last!

  • can you please out not one of us in icelandic!! :D

  • can you please out not one of us in icelandic!! :D

  • 33.666 view! Wow! :O But i love Icelandic and the Lion King! <33333

  • Icelandic reminds me of Danish.

  • Comment removed

  • @KDenDance10 its no close to danish its more like norweigan

  • @persy99 I can concede to that. I only said Danish because it reminded me of Dansk, but I haven't really heard any Norwegian so I'll believe it. It makes sense

  • @KDenDance10 NO. Danish = drunk icelandic man with potato in throat

  • @beini321 hahaha :) So right! I speak Danish and I agree. lol

  • ok, this version is a lot more morbid than the english version...0.0

  • ....his slaves...?

  • "Yes, the blood will fill the field," I liked that verse. BTW, how difficult is to read Icelandic! Sounds great though!

  • Even though I grew up with this movie in the icelandic version, I was very surprised to hear how perfect this voice actor is for Scar.

Also, like someone else mentioned here; the lip syncing matches really well.

    Best version IMO :D

  • What amazes me is how violent the lyrics are near the end. Didn't expect that from a kid's movie. Still this version is one of best along with Zulu, Russian and German

  • I like the Nazi march the Hyenas do in this version. They sound awesome. XD

  • I'm impressed by the lipsyncing in this version. Some languages, you can very clearly tell that it was dubbed from another language, but not in this version.

  • Can you try and upload the "Once Upon a December" from Anastasia in Icelandic again, it was so pretty D;

  • Comment removed

  • Zulu's my favorite, but Iceland is cool; Scar is Wayy more sinister here.

  • this language in this song in purtular is very cunning and the hyineas should rule the graveyeard insted of the pride lands because it is like soo difrent because they have pride rock witch scar dosent even need or should b e king soo he should be thron with his big bro to

  • Scar's voice is so evil! I love it! And I love how the hyenas sound like little gremlins or something. ^_^

  • elska híenurnar frá 1,14 að 1,26 aleger snilld

  • wow I have to say this is pretty damn awesome O_O

    I am honestly positivly suprised

  • 2:28 to 2:38

SO EVIL. That's villainious right there.

  • I badly need to learn this language ! ... seriously :D

  • af hverju er vondi kallin altaf svalastur

  • @randomgaur Because good is dumb.

  • I

    LOVE

    YOU!

My personal Fav. is Gotti Gotti :D hahaha

  • Sounds extremely difficult O.O'

  • in Icelandic what's the difference between y and j?

  • the icelandic j is always like the english y in like "yo". It never has that harsh sound the english j has. And then the icelandic y sounds exactly the same as the icelandic i, the difference is just grammatical :)

  • thanks

  • y sounds almost the same as i in Icelandic

  • ups sry, just realiced someone had already answered you :S hehe

  • i like iceland, shenzi have a nice voice. ;)

  • já íslenzkan okkar er flottust málið ,,,,

er ekki allir með mér á þessari skoðun ??

  • Wow! You actually translated what the hyenas were singing. Not many people post those lyrics on their videos. I love the line about eating until they pass out!

  • stilig! Blir like forvirra hver gang jeg hører islandsk

    "Skjønner ikke... skjønner!...skjønner ikke..." :p

  • Já, ég held ég segi bara að ég sé ánægð með allann "channelinn" hjá þér :) Búin að "subscriba" ;)

Ég er búin að vera að setja nokkur frá þér í favorites núna :D.

  • Usss Notaðu íslenskuna, það er miklu flottara :)

    Channel = Síða

    Subscirbe = gerast áskrifandi

    Favourites = uppáhalds

  • Haha já það er svolítið fyndið hvað maður gleymir oft íslenskunni yfir þau orð sem eru í net og tölvumáli á ensku.

Mér finnst samt óþægilegt að segja til dæmis niðurhal í staðin fyrir download ;) Það kemur tilfinning fyrir að enskan sé réttari, kannski af því að maður vandist því áður en maður heyrði hitt.

  • HAHAHAHAHAH ég þurfti alltaf að spóla yfir þennan hluta af því að ég var svo hræddur!! HAHAHAHA :P

  • Briljant útgáfa. Samt finnst mér saenska útgáfan alltaf best. Rickard Wolff er einfaldlega Scar.

  • i'm going to be singing "away with the king, away with the king, lalalalalala!" all day in icelandic :D

  • WOOW

  • Jóhann Sigurðarson really does sound... creepy.

  • hitler goosestepping hyenas!

  • klárlega besti voice actor íslands

  • thanx fore translating the hyenas at

    2:21-2:29

its very rare that do that :D

  • Älskar isländska <3

  • This sounds sooooo cool! Definitely one of the coolest languages I know, hehe.

I'm learning Swedish now, but the other Scandinavian languages are to come, hehe. :D

  • this is really evil XD I like it XD And icelansic is really cool

  • This is really amazing!!!

I love listening to multilingual songs, and this was one of the better ones :)

You're right, this guy is really evil sounding....bwahaha!

  • This is so EVIL!!

  • Even for you! Timmy the EVIL!

  • thats correct XXNARUTO1234567890 we say stolt in norway denmark and sweden to

  • This version is amazing *-*

And this langage is very beautiful *-*

  • Would you happen to have the entirety of the lyrics written down? I try to retype them but those accents take forever to reproduce.

  • Að sjálfsögðu þó eingin sé andlega hliðin og óvíst um gófnaðar hollt Ég skal tíunda sjónar miðin. takmark mitt heiður og stolt er ég lýt á lafandi tungur er ljóst að þið skiljið ei hót Hver treistir á taumlausar gungur þegar tigið blóð stendur í mót. en nú er að duga eða drepast þessi dagur mun gera okkur fræg nú stundinn er runnin og örlögin spunin fáum við einhvern bita,það skaltu vita ég veit það er þvæla að launa ykkur
  • You are the only one that translates the hyenas' speech almost at the end. I hadn't even paid attention to that detail. That was nice, Tunfiskurinn!! ;-)

  • the word "stolt" sounds similiar to "stolz", the german word for pride

  • It's easy to explain. Between the 6th and 8th centurey there was a "consonant shift" in the German language. Some consonants are shift to other. So before the shift Germans wrote "Stolt" after the shift the wrote "Stols/Stolz" Other examples are "Water" - Wasser" - "Schipp - Schiff"

  • Thanks for posting that. The Icelandic language is interesting to me. I'm from America and I have been to Iceland but only for a short while, I just switched planes.

I heard maybe a few German words as well. I've studied German for 4 years and some words sounded familiar to me.

  • I speak Dutch and German and actually understood a bit of what was said. I personally would love to learn Icelandic, though. It is an amazing language, especially considering how old it is.

  • Að sjálfsögðu!

  • Þetta er algjörlega frábært!

  • Vá ég vissi ekki að þetta væri Jóhann Sigurðs :O

    Æðii ! <33

Túnfiskur þú ert idolið mitt :)

  • I love what the hyenas are singing in the background 2:22-2:29

    We want food

    No doubt about that

We'll eat until we pass out

    Typical hyenas :)

  • Haha :)

  • From the beginning to 0:42 it sort of sounds like played backwards, and then after that something between Swedish and Russian. I'm Finnish and I've studied Swedish for 6 years and I notice how some of the words resemble Swedish.

Scar's voice is awesome, love the song! Thanks for uploading!

  • you're right! some words are very like swedish :P I'm from sweden and sometimes I understood what they sid without the subs xD

  • ingveldur

  • gaur þú ert meistari.. hvar áttu heima á höfuðborgarsvæðinu? hvað ertu gömul?

  • kaldhæðni er skemmtileg :P hehe

  • Love the first word he says *-*

  • My favorite part is from 2:36 to the ending.

  • omg cool

  • Hver er þetta ? sem syngur fyrir Skara? Ég er ekki að fatta það..

  • Jóhann Sigurðarson

  • takk fyrir :)

  • väldigt bra version :)

    very good verion :)

  • Scar's voice in Icelandic is cool, sexy and sinister! I want to marry an Icelandic guy! I love the part at 0:58, he sounds the best at that part(and the end).

  • án efa ein af mínu uppáhálds myndum:P

  • Scar is awesome in Icelandic.....

I just love him singing this song. He's so creepy and it's so well done!!

  • at 0:41 (note that i don't speak icelandic) your word order is kinda messed up, i.e., we never put things like that in english. it should be "when one stands against royalty."

  • Well yeah but ofcourse Icelandic is not English.

    Á íslendsku er það svona.

But in english it is like this.

    You see? ;)

  • *Clears throat* ShinRaVII: we all have that tone in our voices ....

  • ég held að engin önnur þjóð noti svona mikla kadlhæðni

(also, það er ekki til kaldhæðni í costa rica :O)

  • okay I'm Icelandic.. I luv this song in this film,, but I think its better in English,, coz its stronger in english.. But this is nice too,

  • Denna røysten søg hesteballar. Kven syng eigentleg?

  • I love Scar's voice in this ver.

  • I also love Shenzi's voice.

  • Scar is so cool in this version!!! It's my favorite! He sounds so evil but with like a sarcastic/funny tone in his voice. I love the part when he says "Be prepared to steal the power" in Icelandic. I want to marry an Icelandic guy now.

  • Soooo, what are you doing tonight?

  • This sounds do good. So...evil...

    I wishI knew some Icelandic.

  • ehh just to make what i I said a little bit clearer, I'm not confusing Hugo Weaving with Jeremy Irons. It's just that a alot of pepole thiks he's sexy in wierd way. But I don't, same with Jeremy Iron, He's just not sexy.. They're amazing actors but not sexy imo.. hmm.. a bit off topic.. well well.. and btw send me all the proposals you want, as long as you speak Icelandic I promise I'll say yes!

  • talandi um lag með one-hell-of-a skemmtilegt tempo

  • hey you girl from sweden ym from iceland you can marry me,ég er að fara að fifta mig

  • æ, enn sætt

  • Comment removed

  • What ? you don't like Jeremy's Irons voice? it's sooooo sexy... i know the other actor looks like and he plain nothing close to scary... Jeremy irons actually looks like scar... have you seen house of the spirits... he's ugly... buut still in a way sexy.. :P I'm Icelandic so I think the Icelandic words are rather ... cheesy but oh so poetic... since the english versions was actually written with the song.. it kind of fits better... But that's my opinion..

  • I must marry a guy from Iceland! Icelandic is the most sexy and beautiful language in the world.. IMO!.. btw.. I'm from sweden

  • hmm.. I don't know, I haven't thought of Jeremy Iron that way before so guess not, I only think of him as that slease ball Mr. Smith, and he's just not sexy. so no. But he's good off course, and he does a grate scar.. But I have to say my favorite is actually the Finnish one:) But like I said, nothing (in my opinion) is more sexy or beautiful as the Icelandic language :)

  • SO MUCH BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love the lyrics, Scar sounds all demanding and treats the Hyena's like slaves instead of allies like in the English version.

  • This sounds really awesome ^_^ The voice brilliant. Too bad I don't speak Icelandic :(

  • Það væri gaman ef að þið mynduð setja Can you feel the love tonight á íslensku hingað! :)

  • Þegar komið!

  • Húrra! Takk!

  • How 'bout posting Can You Feel The Love Tonight in Iclelandic?

  • Kult å høre Islandsk!

    Skulle gjerne lært litt mer.

    Cool to listen to Icelandic!

Should be glad to learn more.

  • x

    o = th

  • love the lyrics, they are more rightforward than in other lyrics. :)

  • One teensy beetsie question here tuna ;) Why'd you change the opening line??? The new one is good, yes, but I though we like the platonic obidience! ^^ Well I'm sure you have your reasons... Now, your new mission is to love Michael Wincott! Hai! Späder then ;)

  • Því hann var greinilega ekki að segja Andlega Hlýðinn heldur Andlega Hliðin x) Ég fékk mikið um það á gamla myndbandinu svo ég breytti því núna. Og ef þú hlustar vel þá munt þú eflaust heyra það vel líka :)

  • ég var að taka eftir því að skari og síra tala voða svipað, allavega eins og þegar skari segir tungur og gungur eða e-ð þannig þá er það voða svipað og síra segir. prófið að hlusta á my lullaby á íslensku.

    SKARI ER SVO FIINE :)

  • Haha this brings up good memories :P.. must say i am deffinatley not agree with you sefflon.. this is much better in icelandic than in english i must say! awsome :D

  • The lyrics are awesome! So evil! Not the best singer though, his voice isn't as strong as I would like it to be...but that's just my opinion.

  • Lion King vekur upp góðar minningar... bara geggjað

  • Icelandic Scar is not Disney´s lion. He is fucking viking FOR REAL, just listen to him! Obey.

    Greetings Iceland from Czech republic.

  • Ég hef aldrei tekið eftir "Við viljum mat, ekkert frat. Étum á okkur gat." XD

  • And the winner of the best "be prepared Lyrics" is for: ICELANDIC version!

    (forgive my english)

  • 'við viljum mat, ekkert frat. Étum á okkur gat' er svoooooo best!

  • ah now that voice fits scar (more then jeremy irons)

  • Are you crazy - He sounds really cool :D

Lol, I can actually understand some of it x3 (I'm danish)

  • Do I /have/ to say this is the best? It's so obvious! <33
