Worked well, but, while I did perform a full backup using Clockworkmod, I did not copy my contacts to my SD card separately and I do not have them on my new CM installation. just a word guys if u need to take ur phone into sprint to get it serviced unroot ur phone completely they will not touch ur phone at all the only thing they will do is activate another phone for you but supposedly cyanogen voids the warranty even if u have insurance.....total bullshit i think but hey rooting is the easiest way to get the coolness out of your EVo

I followed the instructions and everything works great. The only exception that I am having issue with is that the USB is not being recognized by my computer a couple weeks after installation. I have seen this on the forum threads at Cyanogen but haven't seen any fixes that work for me. I have remapped and renamed the drives but it continues to say there is no media on the drive. Any thing I can do here? I would re-flash but USB doesn't work! :)

I did some research and everything about Cyanogen is positive, however I use my gps-(telenav) a lot.. I did see a few blogs where peope write in about gps not working and some say it does. Is there any way to make sure I can at the very least have gps work?

I CANT STRESS ENOUGH TO INSTALL THE CORRECT GAPPS VERSION. Because after you format your card, you wont be able to access your SD card without using Command promt or another more advanced program.

So be absolutely sure your install the right Google Apps type for your phone. Because otherwise you may get the Cyanogen mod boot screen cycling over and over and never initializing. GOODLUCK.

Also, when you format, dont just do the "wipe data and cache stuff, go to advanced and format system.

@JoshuaF96 the first boot shouldnt take that long..a bit longer then normal but not 6 mins..if the boot animation keeps running over and over again(the cyanogen logo not the THC EVO 4g) then your probably in a boot loop..

That was the first thing I tried. What is weird is if I tap Set Wallpaper and then the backbutton real quick, I have no wallpaper on the home screen, but then if I tap a blank area of the homescreen, the live wallpaper loads. But it still won't load for preview in the other area.

Update: Some live wallpapers load and others don't. Earthrot won't load for preview, but I can manipulate it into loading on the homescreen, but it does not last very long and reverts back either the former wallpaper or blank. Same thing happens with another live wallpaper I downloaded. Others work the first time, though. Weird.

That sounds like an issue with your SD card, because the app runs all the animations from data stored on it. Try a different card if you can

I down loaded it and when it restarted my phone its just been stuck on the cyanogen down loader for over 6 hours now and I cant use my phone.. Its just stuck? I took the battery out and re booted it and it still got to the same point and then loads? forever... has this happened to you or does it take over 6 hours to load....? Please help thanks

There's a much easier way to back up contacts. You can export them from your contacts folder to a csv file, then import them back in. Honestly I've never tried backing up contacts through titanium backup. Just run a batch restore from the data file it made, see what happens.

Honestly that's a very good question. I don't know of an easy way (something worth googling), but the most efficient way to completely remove cyanogenmod is to backup your apps and contacts, then wipe the phone, then root (see my video on it) and re-install titanium backup, then have it reinstall the apps from the backup you had it make before, and import your contacts from the .csv file you exported them to before. Wiping your phone will NOT wipe your SD card

@demens90 Just open the Android Market and download and install TITANIUM BACKUP again. Then open it up and hit your menu button then select batch files. From there just hit RUN next to restore all apps with data. Voila, muthafuxcah Happy holidays and enjoy your Cyanogen Mod.
