It is *not* impossible to have a pain free childbirth. Most other things you say I agree with however. Birth without pain is indeed possible, as is orgasmic birth. :)
You are most certainly right. Without listening to the whole video...I can't recall how I left that impression. I agree with you most emphatically. Birth without fear is birth without pain. Sorry for any poor communication on my part.
I am so happy to see a man speak out on this matter. My first child was born traumatically in teh hospital, my second was born unassisted to my husbands hands and we are now pregnant with number three and planning UC and UP once again.

WOW, I'm so sick and tired of people like you complaining about hospital births, and prenatal care, DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY WOMAN IN OTHER COUNTRIES WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THE OPTION OF PRENATAL CARE?? DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY LIVES PRENATAL TESTING SAVES???
I agree with you. I am engaged and when I have my first child it will be at home with a midwife. I have seen/heard too many things (horror stories really) about women who gave birth in the hospital and had revolting experiences. The LEAST horrible one was the story of a first time Mom who, after having an in-hospital, vaginal birth, was denied access to her newborn for three hours. Terrible.
Every person who's ever lived was carried in a woman's womb! Birthing the future IS the ultimate, life-affirming power, but NOT power as the military-industial complex defines it, and thus, women in general and birth, in particular, are denigrated, pathologized, controlled. We take back our power and LIVE it when we gestate and give birth OUTSIDE of the negative, artificial paradigm of childbirth-as-illness and recognize birth for what it is: awe-inspring, human race-continuing Womb-In POWER!
Nice speech Colin :P
It's Nick Gadea by the way :P
