As an Iranian you are free to leave the country, but it is likely no other country would allow you to stay there. You need to get a visa, and they don't issue visas to Iranian people that easily because of their terrorist government. So the people are trapped. And to be honest, leaving one's homeland to escape oppression is painful in its own way. Most of us miss our home.
Between you and me, an oppressive government is NOT part of a country's people and culture. I could not report it, as a foreigner. And others said "She likes it." yeah... Plus, I was not there after the revolution, so my experience is different. I heard the stories though. So there. It's true, the Americans and Europeans do not like foreigners. Maybe they don't like their countries overpopulated by sad refugees. That is not *Iran*'s fault by any means. You also forget that there is sex-segregated seating in restaurants in Saudi, which means that men and women cannot sit together, or that singles and families sit separately, even in places like McDonalds. The shopping centres have different floors for males and females which means that Moslem husbands and wives cannot even go shopping together.

True words, thank you. To answer why they won't let people leave, sadly they are aided in that by other countries. As an Iranian you are free to leave the country, but it is likely no other country would allow you to stay there. You need to get a visa, and they don't issue visas to Iranian people that easily because of their terrorist government. So the people are trapped. And to be honest, leaving one's homeland to escape oppression is painful in its own way. Most of us miss our home.
