Pretty nice pumpkin! Did you design it yourself or was it a stencil?! Loved the trap door on the right side (in video) of the pumpkin, I just started to carve just a couple layers of the pumpkin itself this year.

Thank you.I designed it by myself.I changed the original bath house by adding some surreal additions with magic marker on the pumpkin before it was carved.Btw,the trap door is actually a flag with the character that means "bath house". However, instead of the character"oil",I made the flag look like a witch's face with a hat in the dark.LOL!

Yeah because he/she didnt cut the whole thing out. They used a special carving tool to thin that certain part of the outer layer enough to where you can see a bit of light.

What kind of tools/how do you just shave away a part of the pumpkin without cutting all the way through?

I used flat-edged carpenter tools to scrape the white flesh away bit by bit,carefully holding each tool at a 90 degree angle.I hope this will help.=D
