  • Yeah, I had to promise my wife to use a lifebelt when alone - but you never know. The line astern gives some kind of added psych support I suppose. Old habit, used it for 15+ years.

  • Hi there. The line over the stern is just my lifeline in case I should take a unvoluntary swim out there - I was singlehanding. The rudder was not locked due to slack in the lower rudderbearing, letting it turn freely took some strain of the bearing. And yes, the sails were set to butterfly, so downwind in a nice 20 knot breeze. Happy sailing.

  • @sailyemaya Great video.

Don't you strap in during such weather? I mean, what are the chances of you catching that line that is tailing behind the boat, should you, god forbid, fall off?

  • It is a sea anchor but I thought you used them to keep from broaching with a following sea. He looks close hauled

  • Why the Warp off the stern? Also with the wind vane steering the vessel shouldn't the rudder be locked (I saw the wheel moving) I am not a mister know it all. Just started sailing and I have lots to learn.

  • @carbidegrd1 i think the 'warp' is a sea anker, to stop the boat surfing and crashing into the wave infront

  • nice boat! love HR!
