Hardwell himself uses a access virus TI, a apogee duet 2 , and a set of powered speakers with a powered subwoofer... and a Macbook pro (late 2011 ) - and he drops million dollar songs .. good vid though!
I find it's just kind of unnecessary to require all of this equipment these days. As long as you have an understanding of sound, sound waves, and how to manipulate them, you can produce professional sounds on no budget with virtually none of this equipment. It really only gives you the advantage of being able to physically control things rather than doing things on the computer.
im kinda dumb with this stuff i cant afford your stuff but im getting a imac will a mixer be better than a interface and if i get a mixer will i need a interface
@StumpyistheBest Interface is the way to go. It gives you total control over your mix inside the software. Mixer is ok but I like to use the interface more than my mixer. :)
alot of the extra hardware you mentioned im thinking is mostly for live and real instrument recording rather than VST or such..it all depends on the type of music your going to be making in the end..i make mostly electronic music and all i need is a pre amp and a good studio condenser microphone and thats about it..and of course good studio monitors and professional headphones. I couldnt find use for all those other boxes unless i was recording a real drumkit or electric guitar and such.
@videotitan1 Hi thank you for your comment. You need to send the sounds L&R output from the keyboard to a interface that converts the audio sound to a digital signal. The computer plays back the midi and the audio interface records the sounds. The midi in & Out to the computer or if you have a USB controller for midi that will work too. If you need more info let me know maybe I can make a video for you. :)
@apple2011 : Thanks for the response, MIDI is only for the software sounds not for the Keyboard sounds, basically on MIDI mode you only use the keyboard keys for the computer software sounds but not the internal keyboard sounds I'm looking for the best connection, cuz the interface that I have its a Presonus USB Audio and its only good for guitar, bass and vocals, but not for Keyboard cuz you get this HISSS and POP horrible sounds when recording the internal Keyboard sounds. Thanks.
its not about DAW or Equipment. The thing that important is idea. For example Arty he makes awesome music and still he got only simple cheap MIDI Keyboard,Speakers and FL Studio, nothing else.2nd example,W&W they don't have this much equipment, they use VST-Minimoog,Sylenth1 and hardware Access Virus TI that's all and they are amazing. So it doesn't matter how good equipment you got if you are not talented for music. For ex. my whole family is i can listen to 1 song and i will know the all notes in 5m
I don't understand why this video is 10 minutes long. It could be a 5 minute video or less without all the "ummm"s and repeated words. Thanks for making the video, the info is appreciated. Better monologue planning would make a better video though.
This is a really impressive set up but I wouldn't say it's all stuff you needed, if you have a decent computer then you can probably set up something decent for about $500.
i use pc for recording now it is the truth when it comes to editing and music recording mac is like the standard but i also game and everything which for me pc is the best you have to really look at what you use your computer for not everyone just does music for me pc works great for sonar 8.5 and my music sounds pretty dam good for a m audio interface and some 150 dollar behringer monitors if you cant afford a high end mac get what you can make the best of it
imo the equipment you need to make professional music productions is
1)good converters2)good speakers 3)ACOUSTIC TREATMENT FOR YOUR ROOM 4)a daw 5)a pc or mac that covers your needs 6)and if you need to record stuff decent mics and good preamps. But first of all you need a lot of study except from the equipment so you can someday have professional results.Thats for music production. To make great music you only need an idea and an instrument whether its acoustic electric electronic or your voice
Everyone honestly, it all comes down to the personal preference of the user. I own both a PC and a Mac, and I love both machines. I had noticed my mac was performing infinitely better than a PC, but that wasnt much of an issue once I upgraded my pc to core i7, added a solid state drive and more RAM.
However i do agree logic pro is a great piece of software and beats all others out there. But then again ableton is amazing too. So once again it all comes down to ones personal preference
My $2,500 custom PC beats the current 5k mac no problems ever. You're in denial, some %80 of vst's arent mac compatible. Macs are for retards who use garage band. Pc's are for real producers who would know how to use a multi tooled instrument.
@RoboticusMusic Keep dreaming Mac's are solid built machines made to handle whatever your into from music production to making movies. I guess that's why all the pro's use them because they are made for professional applications like Logic Pro 9 which is the best music software I have ever used. I think you would change your mind if you had a Mac and Logic Pro 9 it would make your music sound 100% better. Mac's are not for retards they are for people who want quality end results.
@apple2011 no computers brands dont make sound quality. Ableton is better than Logic. Pc's do more. "Pro's" have more money to waste and believe me a pro studio needs an idiot proof computer.
@darklabelstudio no.retarded people think that best producers use only hardware.if you read some interviews in cm magazine youll see that most producers use a lot of plugins and some hardware.but they have talent and they know how to use them.thats why they make beautiful tracks.if you cant have a decent result when you try to make a track dont blame the software.
You forgot one of the most important parts. The room! Without a good room it'll be very difficult to mix correctly and you can't record good sounding stuff (with microphones that is). Otherwise, like those KRK's, they sound killer!
This is nothing more than advertising for Apple period, while I do not knock the power of Apples in the old days, what is being said about PC's here is just baloney. I have used PC's and have built many that have had no problems running any software I install upon the machine. Typically, people who have had problems using music software on a PC, had root problems with the machine to begin with, such as misconfiguration, or the machine doesn't meet the minimum system requirements to run it.
@Alongwayback2 Apple is not paying me to make this video so it's not advertisement it's my decision based off facts. I used to build PC's in the early 90's and I can assure you it was not because I did not know what I was doing nor was it because the machine I built could not run the software. I to use to be a big PC fan and one day I bought a Mac yes it was expensive but to this day I do not buy PC anymore for making music. I use Mac and I do not believe I will switch back any time soon.
@apple2011 Mac's do not have the processing power of PC's, which is why Mac has switched to using Intel processors, their "G" series processors were getting left in the dust by Intel processors, and each passing day, Mac is incorporating more and more of the PC's parts into the Mac, there is a reason why don't you think? I have yet to build a machine that is slower than any Mac. People who have problems with a PC, often are ones who fail to read the minimum system requirements, blaming PC's!!
I have worked with both Mac and PC, I have found the PC far easier to use, more software friendly, and very easily upgradeable, I do not have to make an appointment with anyone to do so, PC's are very plug n' play friendly as well, no special software required, nor do I have to buy a whole new machine to upgrade it, as you do with a Mac, install new parts and go. Now don't get me wrong, Macs are good for people who prefer them, and have deep pockets with loads of time for appointments!!
@apple2011 "based off facts" You mean subjective opinion. There isn't one fact in this video, only your experience and what YOU like to use. See my other comment: I'm a pro audio engineer - I've known talented musicians just getting into the computer side of things - some of them needed pushing to keep looking until they found what suited THEM. I've heard perfect songs out of everything from Reason to ProTools. The most important thing when introducing new users to production, is choice.
@AbsentProfessor - Thanks for your comment. Logic works best for me maybe not so much for others. I enjoy using Logic and I switched from Cubase VST to Logic. One fact that I'm sure of is I'm not switching to any other software anytime soon.
@MAGICDJ5 - Thanks for your comment :D - Absolutely yes that work. Macbook Pro - a simple controller keyboard - Logic Pro 9. Let me know if you need more help. :)
You have an amazing setup no doubt. But saying that kids need all this is simply retarted. This isn't all necessary to start with. As people progress yes but to start this isn't all needed
@EqpBeats - Thanks man for the comment on my studio - The title of this video is "Studio equipment needed for making professional music" Not how to make crappy sounding music. Again the equipment/Software I talk about is for those who are serious about making pretty professional sounding music. The quality of the sound and what I use to achieve that quality. Don't get confused with I just got out of school and I want to make some beats but I have no money so what the cheapest way to make beats.
Logics cool. Reason5 is better when used with Record. Cubase is just as amazing as well. And when your music is mixed n mastered using pro tools, wow! Everyone has software of choice. Reason n Maschine stand alone is my fav eight now. KIDS you don't need all this shit. Start out with a comp. N Fruity loops n headphones.
At the moment i am getting into glitch and IDM styled composing. I was wondering if i use a beat production center (akai xr20) and record the drum kit, sounds, etc into my composition, could I sell and publisize the sounds in my musical piece?. Im not sure if copyright comes into equation if i record physical synths, beats , and sounds externally that I have. BTW i use Reason Record.
what do you think of fl studio? im using pro 9 xxl producer edition right now and i havent even began to explore the plugins because its so mane and so much customization available.
@EliteSniperFMJ Hi Thanks for the question I am not a user of FL studio but I can tell you I have head a lot of tracks done in FL studio and they sound great. Please let me know how you like working with it. :)
@apple2011 ive been using fl studio for a while and i love it in my opinion its the best but every body has there own software they like you just got to find the right one. see im on a very low budget so all i have is a windows vista emachine, rock band mic and a sound poper to reduce the band sound you dont wanna here and i made the sound poper my self. i almost sound like the pros. check out the song kc crazy getting money it was all done in fl studio with the same budget i have
@EliteSniperFMJ i have an emachine pc and it works great and i use fl studio 9 and i love it its a great software i never used logic pro so i dont no much about but wen you get used to fl studio its a great software my favorite i mean every body has there own software they like you just got to experiment
@AtomicxDusk I use 2 KRK studio 5 monitors for $320, a kn700 technics keyboard (used to be about $2000 back in the day, you can get a cheap one for like $200 now), then i got a midi EMU 2x2 for about $40 (which is form your keyboard to a midi device, then bought a $10 cord from that 2x2 box to usb), then logic studio $500
total = about $1200 if you want to use a very solid setup (considering you have a mac computer already, i have a macbook pro 13', works perfectly) :P

all macs are build the same, less viruses, easy device setup/plug and play.
For PC There is many different models, bios, operating systems, motherboards. This cause latency issues, incompatible hardware, instability etc. That's why PC has bad reputation.
But wait. If you buy PC specially designed for audio recording you can avoid these issues.Check these companies:
@Eumusic1 macs are meant for media, on top of that, look at the quality of the product, macs are made of aluminum, pc's plastic. Mac has much more solid software like final cut studio (even what sony movies are made with) logic studio, ilife and much more. For pc you need about 7 programs to do something that 1 fully integrated mac program can do etc etc.. PC's are mainly ment for games n stuff, mac is media
1 video explaining stuff /watch?v=omQiAAQ4IzM&feature=channel_video_title
@apple2011 i have a art tube pre amp , nd a m audio mobile pre , nd im not happy wiff my quality its decent but just a level away from professinal do you have any suggestions ? im willing to upgrade if that will help
not to be funny but Cubase is 110 percent better than logic specially now cubase 6 is out logic aint got a hope of comparing with that and tbh windows 7 really is not bad for music production iv had mac aswell and as there good i wud go pc all day
With the same budjet, the pc you'll get will be far more rock solid than a mac. You can have better cpu and more ram for the same price. Also I have no problems with audio on windows seven.
@chmiki2000 I trust apple more than I trust PC right now. Logic Pro 9 does not crash. I can have multiple more than 5 windows open and never feel the mac slow down not even a bit everything opens quick and bouncing my master track is like butter it's about 20 seconds to bounce a complete song that is about 8 min long. Thats the power of apple. Thats why I use apple and Logic.
for good sound you need 1. good sound sources, 2. good mixer, 3, good mastring rack (EQ, stereo enhan., limiter/compressor/ and perhaps a noise gate,) , 4. perhaps some good fx, and 5. of course monitor speakers, and 6. VERY IMPORTAND good ears ....thats all ....
@produccionesmiranejo thaqt depends on what you want to produce preamps are only needed if you want to record any live instr. oder voice or something else with a micro, if you only want to pproduce electronic music you don't need an preamt, or built in preamps of mixeres and audio hardware are good enough for that ...but if you want record something with a micro yes preamps then are very importand....
@produccionesmiranejo so thats why i have called it you need a good soundsource ..that means goss instruments , and if you want to record something good micro and preamp ,. so because of that is depending on what you want to pproduce i called all of that soundscource ...so i don't nedd to list verything and make cklear what is needed for what ...i thpought that was clear ...
@produccionesmiranejo yes, i mean that all together and everything else you need to get a good soundsource for working with ...but thius is the most variable part of the whole thing thtas why i pack it alltogether ..
@chmiki2000 apples are over rated, i have a mac n pc n theres no diference music wise, mac runs a lil smoother when surfin the net or just usin the computer, n it shutsdown 5 secs quiker thats it. i can mixdown a song just as fast on a pc
@RizzoAstronama probly on a basic pc or laptop, thats y u get a pc will good specs....and only on pro tools 9 any interface works, anything below 9 u needs a mbox to run pro tools , n dats for pc n mac.....
Apple is nice, but EXPENSIVE. Windows 7 has fixed a lot of the old problems working with audio on PC. You know you guys can get a WHOLE STUDIO in one unit with the StudioBLADE keyboard workstation. It has the computer, software, sound card, keyboard and control surfacecombined in one easy unit. There's no need for anything else.
i use 2 macbook pro`s and logic node to get double processor force. and logic pro 9 ofc! logic is by far the best music software program! long live logic!
@Adrianofnagrand Thanks for the comment. That's true if your synthesizers have a USB hookup on the the back. Older synthesizers did not have this function but you are right if they have a USB it will work fine.
i heard that apple automatically selects and remembers drivers. is this true? basically i have a presonus audiobox usb, a vci300 mk2 which im sharing the power cord for, and im sick of switching the drivers. one wrong click and my mic doesnt run. will a mac help my situation? thanks & good video.
@SitiSwift416 Hi thank you for viewing my video. You have heard correct. Logic Studio 9 and previous versions do remember drivers and settings. It's great software and very powerful for mixing, recording, making music any kind of music. Please show you support and subscribe more new helpful videos out soon. Check out my channel many more music production videos and songs made in Logic Pro.
@paulbefc Hi thanks for checking out my video. :) It takes time, commitment, a drive to succeed, hard work and to be wise with your money. When I started out I had one keyboard and now I have a whole studio. If you have the drive and will anything can be achieved to to reach your goal thats what I did to get where I am now. So if this is something you want to achieve then go for it nobody s stopping you but yourself.
Nice video, but the most important point that was omitted is the fact that to make Professional music one needs talent, and not just for composing, but recording and mixing and whatever. Also there are some small points in the studio that are important as well. Like some isolating material under the monitors, the bare wall behind etc. One should be very careful to use the word Professional.
@VitalPatricia - Hi thank you for your comment and advice it was well said. I agree with you one does need talent to make music. Recording and mixing anyone can learn that skill as long as your ears work :). Yeah I never got around to sound proofing my studio but it's in the works. Also just because the wall do not have sound proofing does not mean my mixes will sound bad or anyones mixes will sound bad. So the equipment I show in this video is what I would recommend to make professional music.
Thanks a lot for your help! I'm really interested in this way of making music!! Looking forward to hear from you again, your help is very appreciated.
@mephisto40 - Hi thanks for checking out my video. If you are starting out and you want to make professional sounding music I would consider these the basics one would need to achieve that professional sound with ease.
@KRONIKmannn - Yes you can. If your going to use Logic Studio 9 get a Macbook Pro max out the RAM and get a big hard drive. The cool thing about a laptop studio is working on your productions wherever you go. I may get one latter. :) Please stoop by my channel for my great vids please subscribe.
hi, do you think it's possible to use a bass guitar to trigger sounds instead af a midi keyboard? if so, what would you recommend me to get as essential hardware/software to get started with? I play the bass, but would like to experiment with electronic music as well, but as you can probably guess, I'm totally new to the game. Thanks a lot in advance, your help is much appreciated!!
@xyzpok Hi sorry for the delay been swamped here. Well I'm not sure if you can trigger midii via guitar but I tell you what if they do have something like that and play very well this would be your best friend. Let me look into this and I'll get back to you. Thanks for the question. :)
@qikanika Greetings thanks for complement. :D I run my MOTU 896HD right into my iMac via the firewire. The sounds I use are directly in Logic 9. Also I use external sounds from my synths. What computer are you using and what software.
well i use PC with Cubase 5 software and i have KORG M3 synth..as external sound card i have choised M-audio 610 ProFire. But i want to know wich internal Sound Card for my PC its good for professional sound??!!and did i need a higest quality internal sound card?
@whitewallsaint - Hi Whitewallsaint thanks for the question. I would say you could totaly produce music just like this with Logic Studio 9 a good Mac a midi keyboard.
@iLive4ver I'm not sure if it's the best but I can tell you it is one powerful monster for making any kind of music. I bet If I tried to do some hip hop beats you would dig it. :) Logic is real easy to use and has fantastic sounds. I will not use any other software for now because I'm hooked on Logic. Hope that helps you out.
@Allujallu - Yeah I need to put some up soon but the acoustics sounds great in this room. Also the speakers are in a triangle if you look the video again you can see they are. Thank you for watching my video.
i use powertracks audio 12 dell precision m60 laptop i use korg karma keyboard i use romio midi interface i have a mixer 12 channels witj powersupply and effects i have behringer ms 16 monitores. i record my stuff into wavepad or my powertracks audio 12, i have this cooledit.20 looks awsome and easy in use agree?? i have also cubasis 4,0 he he. my plans is to get logic 9 and powerbook 17" with the best system ram + hardisk size... what do you reccomend to have a as minimal of a homestudio
@ballademaker Hi first just wanted to say thank you for the sub and the great questions. I would go with 3.06GHz Mac max out the RAM and get a large hard-drive Logic 9 is so FANTASTIC you will love it very easy to use and extremely powerful software. Getting the external midid equipment is easy to. Hope that helps you out.
is there any way that you can just connect your midi controller keyboard directly to your laptop or pc through one single cable so that the sounds from the keyboard feel directly into the pc?
@ABUIK - Hi ABUIK. No I do not think so. When you play the keyboard the Midi cables transmit the data to the computer then when you press play on the seq the computer palys back the midi data and send the signals to the back to the keyboard wich triggers the sound. Then the sound goes to your mixer or into your hard disk recorder and out the speakers. I wish it was that easy. :)
@offroadrc I use to love Cubase it was my fav seq sotware but now I'm hooked on Logic Pro. I love to work with hardware also but now more with the software. Thanks for your support. i will look up your channel JVGmidi and send you a friend request. Thank you,
You are a crazy fan of apple. My PC has got Core i7, 6 GB RAM, 500 GB HDD and a 1 TB external 1. It really works well with Cubase 5 and FL studio 9.0 rewired.
my friend only uses FL Studio lol and he already got a label for 4 of his tracks... my other friend has a MacPro, Virus TI, RME & TC Electronic soundware, didnt have a clue on how to make music before those 2 of my friends met... now they're producing together.. and i only use Ableton, konnekt 8 and KRK 6.
@stepinoutwithstyle - I did spend a lot on money for my studio setup, but it took time to get all the gear together. Are you looking at starting a studio?
@stepinoutwithstyle - If I was just starting out I would buy a used Mac on ebay. Try Bizrate for the software to get the best price. You could do the same for a keyboard to trigger the sounds. A new Mac like the one I have is quite expensive but it works great. Again the equipment does not have to be new. As long as you can make beats and you want to make music go for it. Save your money if you can that's what I did to build my studio. Let me know if you have any questions.
would you know a program used to record proffesional audio (like apple's logic pro) AND- good visual effects/editing videos you have recorded? im not sure what to find?????
@MrPacmanXD Hi There - This is a tough question for me, but I will do my best to answer it. When I did my videos (Real Scary Ghost Face/Strange Imgae Captured By Mars...) I did all the music and sound effects in Logic.
@MrPacmanXD - I made the video on a (PC) using Movie Maker, which has very basic effects and transitions. Then I did a screen capture of the video and turned it into a Quicktime. Next I imported the video back into Logic and sequenced the video to my music/sound effects and speach.
@MrPacmanXD - I know apple has software called Final Cut Pro which is software for editing movies and I know you can add audio to it. But I'm not sure what types of effects it has. I'm sure it must be good if apple makes it. Also I did a quick Google of software a bunch of stuff came up anywhere from $89 - $799 and up. Best luck if you find out more info about this please let me know and post here. Please subscribe to keep up with my new video's.
@Drumlord009 - Hey man sorry I missed this comment from you. It's a midi timepiece from MUTO and midi expander 8 in X 8 out. I can add more midi equipment to my setup with no midi drop out of notes. It's rock solid sequencing when I use this timepiece in my productions. I have been using MUTU for many years now and I only use MUTU for my productions because it's very solid.
Hello! Ive been recently watching your videos, i think they are very useful and helpful for the people that want to get started working with pro music..My question to you is though, About how much will all this cost? And with having all this, im just curious people will still need a mic right?
Hi Steven3ful - Thanks for watching my vids! It is costly, but there are always deals. You do not have to buy new gear that can save you some bucks. Software alone was around a thousand. I'm sure you can pickup a good deal on the computer (ebay) if you look. You could use headphones instead of speakes to start off with. Just some ideas. One question anyone starting out should ask is how serious am I about music. Also A mike would be a good idea if you want vocals or samples.
I would love this setup and from watching your video.. straight away I know I can take yoru word for it because you know what your on about. Downside is, I dont have enough money for this expensive setup.. atm Im using PC, and I cant wait to move onto apple lopgic studios, I have been recommended by so many people.. the quality as we speak, is superb!!... iv subed anyone.. keep in touch!
Hi SyedShah - thanks for checking my vids and for subscribing. My advice to you would be get one piece at a time maybe get the computer first - software - keyboard - headphones - that sould get you started. It is costly but it's worth it if you love music and you want to make money with it. I did take me awhile to get my studio the way how it is now. But every step you take puts you closer to your goals. Good luck if you have questions let me know. Also Logic is AWSOME!!!
Databaze - I bought if from the Guitar Center. The company who makes this is Studio RTA the model# is 50041 Black/Maple. It was easy to put together but it is very heavy although it does have wheels to move. Of cours, once you add equipment, it is very hard to move. It has lots of space and it's very user friendly.
Heathenscross - Ive been hearing a lot of good things about FL Studio maybe Ill pick it up and try it out. Any synthesizer will work to make music. Did you want to use it with sequencing software to control the internal sounds? Or are you looking for something good for Techno/Trance that sort of thing?
and look up logic and fl studios tutorial for beginner u can much learn more if u use fl studios there are miuch more tutorials because its cheaper and more people got it
without tutorials u keep beeing a jerk in music making or u will use soundpools and this is really cheap. I think logics got many soundpools
Logic Pro is for apple it might be possible. I will check with my brother he is a wiz when it comes to this sort of stuff. I'll keep you posted when I find out.
you think i need logics to do nice music job and create great music i think my music is better than yours and i dont use a fool 2000 euro product
so i also cant buy it i started with the free fl studios version and now i bought the best version and i make music like ali nadem or antoine lavenant . they use fl studios too
for all test fl studios i think its better because logics is too expensive and crapppppp
Let's be clear here I'm not insisting anyone use the same products I use for making music. These videos reflect my opinions based off my knowledge from using these products. There is no need to leave arrogant comments. Is it necessary to judge others based off ones tutorials? Also to bring you up to speed most top recording studios all around the world use Apples logic Pro for professional studio productions please do some research.
Im not very familiar with FL Studios I have see it in action a little and it does not look bad at all. It is unfortunate that you have made a decision on a popular product based off no true knowledge of the product. Please search on OMEN Frankfurt because thats where I did gigs in the early 90s.
Hardwell himself uses a access virus TI, a apogee duet 2 , and a set of powered speakers with a powered subwoofer... and a Macbook pro (late 2011 ) - and he drops million dollar songs .. good vid though!

its not about DAW or Equipment.

Better monologue planning would make a better video though.

i use pc for recording now it is the truth when it comes to editing and music recording mac is like the standard but i also game and everything which for me pc is the best you have to really look at what you use your computer for not everyone just does music for me pc works great for sonar 8.5 and my music sounds pretty dam good for a m audio interface and some 150 dollar behringer monitors if you cant afford a high end mac get what you can make the best of it

imo the equipment you need to make professional music productions is
1)good converters2)good speakers 3)ACOUSTIC TREATMENT FOR YOUR ROOM 4)a daw 5)a pc or mac that covers your needs 6)and if you need to record stuff decent mics and good preamps. But first of all you need a lot of study except from the equipment so you can someday have professional results.Thats for music production. To make great music you only need an idea and an instrument whether its acoustic electric electronic or your voice
hallugi 9 months ago
Everyone honestly, it all comes down to the personal preference of the user. I own both a PC and a Mac, and I love both machines. I had noticed my mac was performing infinitely better than a PC, but that wasnt much of an issue once I upgraded my pc to core i7, added a solid state drive and more RAM.
However i do agree logic pro is a great piece of software and beats all others out there. But then again ableton is amazing too. So once again it all comes down to ones personal preference

@IshtarDK thats not true you're an idiot and macs are idiot proof.
RoboticusMusic 9 months ago
My $2,500 custom PC beats the current 5k mac no problems ever. You're in denial, some %80 of vst's arent mac compatible. Macs are for retards who use garage band. Pc's are for real producers who would know how to use a multi tooled instrument.
RoboticusMusic 9 months ago
@RoboticusMusic Keep dreaming Mac's are solid built machines made to handle whatever your into from music production to making movies. I guess that's why all the pro's use them because they are made for professional applications like Logic Pro 9 which is the best music software I have ever used. I think you would change your mind if you had a Mac and Logic Pro 9 it would make your music sound 100% better. Mac's are not for retards they are for people who want quality end results.
apple2011 9 months ago 20
@apple2011 no computers brands dont make sound quality. Ableton is better than Logic. Pc's do more. "Pro's" have more money to waste and believe me a pro studio needs an idiot proof computer.
RoboticusMusic 9 months ago
retarded producers uses mostly plugins. Best producers have all in racks, no need of bullshit plugins. keep it in mind.
darklabelstudio 9 months ago
@darklabelstudio and poor producers :)
rybotnik 8 months ago
@darklabelstudio no.retarded people think that best producers use only hardware.if you read some interviews in cm magazine youll see that most producers use a lot of plugins and some hardware.but they have talent and they know how to use them.thats why they make beautiful tracks.if you cant have a decent result when you try to make a track dont blame the software.
hallugi 8 months ago
You forgot one of the most important parts. The room! Without a good room it'll be very difficult to mix correctly and you can't record good sounding stuff (with microphones that is). Otherwise, like those KRK's, they sound killer!
alexanderlabrea 10 months ago
This is nothing more than advertising for Apple period, while I do not knock the power of Apples in the old days, what is being said about PC's here is just baloney. I have used PC's and have built many that have had no problems running any software I install upon the machine. Typically, people who have had problems using music software on a PC, had root problems with the machine to begin with, such as misconfiguration, or the machine doesn't meet the minimum system requirements to run it.
Alongwayback2 10 months ago
@Alongwayback2 Apple is not paying me to make this video so it's not advertisement it's my decision based off facts. I used to build PC's in the early 90's and I can assure you it was not because I did not know what I was doing nor was it because the machine I built could not run the software. I to use to be a big PC fan and one day I bought a Mac yes it was expensive but to this day I do not buy PC anymore for making music. I use Mac and I do not believe I will switch back any time soon.
apple2011 10 months ago
@apple2011 Mac's do not have the processing power of PC's, which is why Mac has switched to using Intel processors, their "G" series processors were getting left in the dust by Intel processors, and each passing day, Mac is incorporating more and more of the PC's parts into the Mac, there is a reason why don't you think? I have yet to build a machine that is slower than any Mac. People who have problems with a PC, often are ones who fail to read the minimum system requirements, blaming PC's!!
Alongwayback2 10 months ago
I have worked with both Mac and PC, I have found the PC far easier to use, more software friendly, and very easily upgradeable, I do not have to make an appointment with anyone to do so, PC's are very plug n' play friendly as well, no special software required, nor do I have to buy a whole new machine to upgrade it, as you do with a Mac, install new parts and go. Now don't get me wrong, Macs are good for people who prefer them, and have deep pockets with loads of time for appointments!!
Alongwayback2 10 months ago
@apple2011 "based off facts" You mean subjective opinion. There isn't one fact in this video, only your experience and what YOU like to use. See my other comment: I'm a pro audio engineer - I've known talented musicians just getting into the computer side of things - some of them needed pushing to keep looking until they found what suited THEM. I've heard perfect songs out of everything from Reason to ProTools. The most important thing when introducing new users to production, is choice.
AbsentProfessor 9 months ago
@AbsentProfessor - Thanks for your comment. Logic works best for me maybe not so much for others. I enjoy using Logic and I switched from Cubase VST to Logic. One fact that I'm sure of is I'm not switching to any other software anytime soon.

EqpBeats 10 months ago
@EqpBeats - Thanks man for the comment on my studio - The title of this video is "Studio equipment needed for making professional music" Not how to make crappy sounding music. Again the equipment/Software I talk about is for those who are serious about making pretty professional sounding music. The quality of the sound and what I use to achieve that quality. Don't get confused with I just got out of school and I want to make some beats but I have no money so what the cheapest way to make beats.
apple2011 10 months ago
Logics cool. Reason5 is better when used with Record. Cubase is just as amazing as well. And when your music is mixed n mastered using pro tools, wow! Everyone has software of choice. Reason n Maschine stand alone is my fav eight now. KIDS you don't need all this shit. Start out with a comp. N Fruity loops n headphones.
EqpBeats 10 months ago
At the moment i am getting into glitch and IDM styled composing. I was wondering if i use a beat production center (akai xr20) and record the drum kit, sounds, etc into my composition, could I sell and publisize the sounds in my musical piece?. Im not sure if copyright comes into equation if i record physical synths, beats , and sounds externally that I have. BTW i use Reason Record.

MAC
all macs are build the same, less viruses, easy device setup/plug and play.
For PC There is many different models, bios, operating systems, motherboards. This cause latency issues, incompatible hardware, instability etc. That's why PC has bad reputation.
But wait. If you buy PC specially designed for audio recording you can avoid these issues.Check these companies:
rainrecording ,adkproaudio, sweetwater creation station,pcaudiolabs.
Eumusic1 11 months ago 3
@Eumusic1 macs are meant for media, on top of that, look at the quality of the product, macs are made of aluminum, pc's plastic. Mac has much more solid software like final cut studio (even what sony movies are made with) logic studio, ilife and much more. For pc you need about 7 programs to do something that 1 fully integrated mac program can do etc etc.. PC's are mainly ment for games n stuff, mac is media

Why would apple be the best, I don't understand?
With the same budjet, the pc you'll get will be far more rock solid than a mac. You can have better cpu and more ram for the same price. Also I have no problems with audio on windows seven.
chmiki2000 1 year ago
@chmiki2000 I trust apple more than I trust PC right now. Logic Pro 9 does not crash. I can have multiple more than 5 windows open and never feel the mac slow down not even a bit everything opens quick and bouncing my master track is like butter it's about 20 seconds to bounce a complete song that is about 8 min long. Thats the power of apple. Thats why I use apple and Logic.
apple2011 1 year ago 7
for good sound you need 1. good sound sources, 2. good mixer, 3, good mastring rack (EQ, stereo enhan., limiter/compressor/ and perhaps a noise gate,) , 4. perhaps some good fx, and 5. of course monitor speakers, and 6. VERY IMPORTAND good ears ....thats all ....
AFlippingBudjunky 11 months ago
@AFlippingBudjunky
i'd rather have good pre amps than a mixer, but good pre amps are really expensive LOL
produccionesmiranejo 11 months ago
@produccionesmiranejo thaqt depends on what you want to produce preamps are only needed if you want to record any live instr. oder voice or something else with a micro, if you only want to pproduce electronic music you don't need an preamt, or built in preamps of mixeres and audio hardware are good enough for that ...but if you want record something with a micro yes preamps then are very importand....
AFlippingBudjunky 11 months ago
@produccionesmiranejo so thats why i have called it you need a good soundsource ..that means goss instruments , and if you want to record something good micro and preamp ,. so because of that is depending on what you want to pproduce i called all of that soundscource ...so i don't nedd to list verything and make cklear what is needed for what ...i thpought that was clear ...

@AFlippingBudjunky
i thought you meant a good room which is also important

Apple is nice, but EXPENSIVE. Windows 7 has fixed a lot of the old problems working with audio on PC. You know you guys can get a WHOLE STUDIO in one unit with the StudioBLADE keyboard workstation. It has the computer, software, sound card, keyboard and control surfacecombined in one easy unit. There's no need for anything else.

VitalPatricia 1 year ago
@VitalPatricia - Hi thank you for your comment and advice it was well said. I agree with you one does need talent to make music. Recording and mixing anyone can learn that skill as long as your ears work :). Yeah I never got around to sound proofing my studio but it's in the works. Also just because the wall do not have sound proofing does not mean my mixes will sound bad or anyones mixes will sound bad. So the equipment I show in this video is what I would recommend to make professional music.

is there any way that you can just connect your midi controller keyboard directly to your laptop or pc through one single cable so that the sounds from the keyboard feel directly into the pc?
ABUIK 1 year ago
@ABUIK - Hi ABUIK. No I do not think so. When you play the keyboard the Midi cables transmit the data to the computer then when you press play on the seq the computer palys back the midi data and send the signals to the back to the keyboard wich triggers the sound. Then the sound goes to your mixer or into your hard disk recorder and out the speakers. I wish it was that easy. :)

@MrPacmanXD Hi There - This is a tough question for me, but I will do my best to answer it. When I did my videos (Real Scary Ghost Face/Strange Imgae Captured By Mars...) I did all the music and sound effects in Logic.
apple2011 1 year ago

With the MDID Timepiece, is that just a MIDI interface?
Drumlord009 1 year ago
@Drumlord009 - Hey man sorry I missed this comment from you. It's a midi timepiece from MUTO and midi expander 8 in X 8 out. I can add more midi equipment to my setup with no midi drop out of notes. It's rock solid sequencing when I use this timepiece in my productions. I have been using MUTU for many years now and I only use MUTU for my productions because it's very solid.

@bundy2222 - It took me a long time to get all my equipment together and it was very costly. I had to save and buy smart. Hope that helps.

Hello! Ive been recently watching your videos, i think they are very useful and helpful for the people that want to get started working with pro music..My question to you is though, About how much will all this cost? And with having all this, im just curious people will still need a mic right?
steven3ful 1 year ago
Hi Steven3ful - Thanks for watching my vids! It is costly, but there are always deals. You do not have to buy new gear that can save you some bucks. Software alone was around a thousand. I'm sure you can pickup a good deal on the computer (ebay) if you look. You could use headphones instead of speakes to start off with. Just some ideas. One question anyone starting out should ask is how serious am I about music. Also A mike would be a good idea if you want vocals or samples.

Thanks! Great video!
databaze 2 years ago
Databaze - I bought if from the Guitar Center. The company who makes this is Studio RTA the model# is 50041 Black/Maple. It was easy to put together but it is very heavy although it does have wheels to move. Of cours, once you add equipment, it is very hard to move. It has lots of space and it's very user friendly.

ya fl studio is good deadmau5 uses it idk tho whatkind of synthesizer can i make music with
heathenscross 2 years ago
Heathenscross - Ive been hearing a lot of good things about FL Studio maybe Ill pick it up and try it out. Any synthesizer will work to make music. Did you want to use it with sequencing software to control the internal sounds? Or are you looking for something good for Techno/Trance that sort of thing?

you think i need logics to do nice music job and create great music i think my music is better than yours and i dont use a fool 2000 euro product
so i also cant buy it i started with the free fl studios version and now i bought the best version and i make music like ali nadem or antoine lavenant . they use fl studios too
for all test fl studios i think its better because logics is too expensive and crapppppp
