I don't think I would qualify for this because I don't pass the vision requirements. Is there any other branch of the service that would be similar to this in training but doesn't require the vision requirements?

US Air Force, US Navy, US Army, and US Coast Guard. The four main branches. every other group is a sub branch. Of the main branches believe it or not the air force is probably the hardest to make it into it. But don't get me wrong special forces is harder but branch wise its the air force.

Here in Australia they have changed the laws so now women can serve on the front line even in our special forces, the SAS, although that doesn't mean we have a lot of women in our army. Most can handle the weight that they need to carry in the packs so fail recruitment. But there is always a chance it could happen one day in America too.

I am not saying the SASR is better than Navy Seals (They are involved in extremly different roles to start with) I just find the different training styles interesting. Both are the best at what they do and every individual deserves to be where they are. Im just glad to say that the Yanks are on our side rather than against. In America their commanders always are there yelling at them which does destroy the weak. It can bring a grown man to tears. But others use it as motivation to drive them on further. But when they come to being in the field there is no one their to yell at them. In Australia (SASR) the commanders don't communicate with the soldiers in any form. No feedback on their performance which plays on their mind. They need to be 100% self motivated and disciplined which is important in the field.

the diving tests was the funniest.. i liked those the most, becouse every "jarhead" paniced in the water and they picked on me in the camps etc, but i was the first to complete every obsticle on the special obstacle challenge we had, we have a little harder training programs for becoming a seal in norway then in the us, but all respect for those who make it! semper fi!

ok im 14 right now i train to be a seal i may walk 8 miles with 125 of weight on me in winter i do cold water endurance etc. i just need help on one thing does onyone have a way i can hold my breath longer its it like cold water enderance just do it over and over and your body gets a custom to it please comment back !

@Bella24Forever you can quit at anytime. the Navy doesn't want operators that can't meet their standards so you go back to your normal rate. which is why I think its important that when you enlist you pick a rate that not only will help prepare you for BUDS but also be something you could enjoy doing if you wash out of SEAL training.

Dick Cheney - never served in the armed forces and Donald Rumsfeld was an flight instructor until '57, then transfered to the reserves, a real hero. the diving tests was the funniest.. i liked those the most, becouse every "jarhead" paniced in the water and they picked on me in the camps etc, but i was the first to complete every obsticle on the special obstacle challenge we had, we have a little harder training programs for becoming a seal in norway then in the us, but all respect for those who make it! semper fi!

Based on a true story, a british arab went to visit pakistan or something to go to his cousins wedding, but then militia picked him up, gave him to the U.S., and while in guantanamo, he was harrassed in ways you only see in the movie human centipede and some other torture movies. Interrogators would try to break him and tell him he was a terrorist.

@TRENTx88 , whats really good for that, is either A. put bout 40 pounds on your chest and do breating exercises alot of times, or B. by football chest pads, strap em tight and run or swim, also drop some of the weight and run 3 miles, thats what im doing. just do it gradually, good luck

The running on the sand, IN BOOTS and it's time. Then after that enjoy some log pt. Then on to obstacle course. He after your lunch don't eat to much because get ready for the 2 mile timed swim in more COLD WATER, just make sure the tidal waves don't push you under. They put you through so much fucking hell.

@Bella24Forever you can quit at anytime. the Navy doesn't want operators that can't meet their standards so you go back to your normal rate. which is why I think its important that when you enlist you pick a rate that not only will help prepare you for BUDS but also be something you could enjoy doing if you wash out of SEAL training.
