  • An A for effort but nothing could make this movie gritty or half way decent.

  • Why does DAF have to exist. Only if they made a sequel. Only if.

  • Over the years I've learned to not hate this movie, but instead enjoy it for what it is. lol. There are so many ridiculous things about it you just can't go in to it the same way as the other Connery Bonds.

  • Connery was the best Bond , but in Diamonds he did not look his best,, the film could have been better ,, but it was good to see him back as Bond

  • Two men are to blame for DAF's comedic flair. Guy Hamilton and Tom Mankiewicz

  • personally i thought this was a great bond film and great job on the trailer. connery is still the best bond to date.

  • I love it, well done. I do like DAF but your trailer makes it look amazing.

  • Did you do the voice over for this trailer?

  • Superb. Just ABSOLUTELY FUCKING SUPERB. If I'd never seen DAF this trailer would have got me really excited about it! Well done.

  • The revenge films of Bond have always been Good. Diamonds are forever and For Your eyes only are the examples. Quantum was ok for me but i still prefer the other two

  • @McNugget11 Licence to Kill??? And DAD and your eyes only are not really revenge films.

  • Nicely done. You snuck a pre-cred shot from FOR YOUR EYES ONLY in there!

  • Diamonds Are Forever is the dullest of all the Bonds. A bored leading man and a hokey Avengers-style plot involving look-alikes. Silly beyond words.

  • Nice job and i agree this trailer makes the movie stronger....And to bad George did not stay on..,he was the youngest at 29 to play Bond and could have had one hell of a run with it.....

  • @miamimann1 quite. he could have stayed on until 'A view to a kill', and he'd be 45. Roger Moore was 45 when he started in 'Live and Let Die'

  • I have to admit that this is one of the best remixed trailers I have seen to date..and the only one that has the 'graveyard' seen from fyo I'm very impressed this was added! Please add more...

  • the way to justify this movie is put it right after yolt so connery doesn't have intervals

then put in ohmss then start of the roger moore generation with for your eyes only and go from there you get a good intro to roger you get better revenge and finish blofeld I do wish mcclory hadn't been such a douche so there was no blofeld for tswlm but now that hes dead prey for cat

  • This is a great trailer but I love DAF the way it is. It has a truly awesome soundtrack by Barry, which I think is his best, and a Connery performance where he seems to be enjoying it all. Wint and Kidd, much maligned in some quarters, are memorable Bond villains, and I've never seen Vegas look as glamorous as it does in this film. The climax could, and should, have been better, with Bond chasing Blofeld to a salt mine, with a fight to the death, but I'm grateful for this memorable Bond movie.

  • @MrGazMac omg you are like a genius or something I mean that wouldve been all the better they need more hand to hand bond and blofeld thats why i always defend this movie too is connery and blofeld this was definetly good and anyone who calls it the same shit as DAD is a asshole not saying u did but wih the whole laser thing

  • Definitely looks better than the film. The only thing I missed was the use of the James Bond theme at some point, but still this is an improvement. Since OHMSS didn't do well financially it just seemed that they wanted to pretend that it didn't happen or something. It's sad because OHMSS has since gone on to be considered one of the best in the series. I would have really liked to see a gritty revenge story like the one you show here.

  • @mikemwp OHMSS was a big hit, it made

    $87million from $7million film. it would,ve

made even more if it had bin a shorter

    film.

  • @vaj99, I chose my words poorly and yes it certainly wasn't a failure. What I meant was that the film was considered disappointing when compared to the other Bond films, especially by the studio. They even make that clear in the OHMSS documentaries on the dvd. They wanted a scape goat so they blamed it on George Lazenby. It definitely seems ridiculous all considering but for some reason that was their conclusion.

  • @mikemwp The truth is that Lazenby

quit the role.as he took poor advice

    from some Irish manager.Ohmss

was the highest grossing film of

    1969.

  • @vaj99 that's what Lazenby said but the studios deny this. They said that they replaced Lazenby because they felt he hurt the film from earning higher profits. The film was a success but for what ever reason it was not the success that the studio was hoping for. It seems unfair. If you don't believe me then watch the making of feature on the dvd. David Picker, former president of United Artists said "The fact is that the film didn't do as well. We had to blame some body, so we fired the star"

  • @mikemwp But the movie failed due to piss poor advertising.

  • Beautiful

  • does anybody know whats name of the music in trailer ?

  • if at first you dont suceed mr .kidd try try again mr wint

  • Nice. It is sad that the Producers passed up such an opportunity with DAF, it could have been one of the best given the way OHMSS ended.

Might I suggest trying to find a very dark brooding 007 sounding theme and remaster this?

  • Jill St. John looked so great in this!

  • Diamonds Are Forever sucked so bad...probably that and License to Kill are the worst in the series.

  • Licence the Kill is great film ass wipe, you just hate it because it is Timothy Dalton.

  • @MajBlood - Actually I hated License to Kill, because it was bad. I love Dalton and I love The LIving Daylights.

  • @sclements75 no ohmss is the worst bad in editing bad directing good cast worst story couldve made it better if they put there minds 2 it

  • I dont like the space laser idea but it was such a better film than moonraker or die another day or any peirce borsnan 007 movies that sucked and I like it better than ohmss just because no connery but right on with licence ta kill and i love livin daylights too

  • Oh sneaky

'this isn't a personal vendetta 007, its an assignment like any other' - this voice over is from Goldfinger... is it not?

    Great Trailer!

  • I'm a 40 plus year Bond fan. I can sum this video up in one word. Bravo!

  • I love the footage from "For Your Eyes Only." It's when you see Bond's legs walking the Tracy's grave.

  • @JudahBenHur007 Easily the best Moore Bond film. It was good to see Tracy wasn't totally forgotten and Bond finally get his revenge on Blofeld.

  • Still i thought it was pretty good and though the laser isnt realistic it might be possible

  • It could have been so much better if it was played as a revenge movie with a much more sinister Blofeld and lived up to the teaser. Also Bambi and Thumper deserved a bigger role.

  • my fav bond is believe it or not brosnan

  • i think this trailer is excelent, i like this film, is diferent to the other connery´s films, but i love it

  • Great video!

  • the trailer makes it seem like a more serious dramatic film than the original campy film.

  • Agreed. The choice of scenes, editing and music makes it appear that Diamonds storyline had a greater "sense of urgency"...

  • where as the choice of Tom Mankiewicz's screenplay to make Bond a little more 70's American definitely has mixed emotions especially following up OHMSS... it began an entirely different franchise, in my opinion. There are moments that are very 60's Bondonian (pre-title sequence, battle on oil rig, Vegas car chase for example)... however, if it werent for John Barry's brilliant score, cinematography, fast editing and Ken Adam's sets & connery's return, this film would have been a massive failure.

  • Thanks for your comment. It's interesting that Connery, who became superstar in the 1960's as Bond, did not appear in OHMSS which was the last Bond film of the 1960's era...that distinction, as you know went to Lazenby. And then, Connery "returns" and takes

the role on last time in the first Bond film of the 1970's... there's so much "reversal of fortune" in the Bond film legacy...

So, what is your favorite Bond film and your favorite Bond actor?

  • call me old fashioned... connery... From Russia With Love... the most 3 dimensional, cold war thriller that Hitchcock could have easily made. Thunderball is simply fun... love it, love the beach and tropics, so this is a no brainer- barry's score superb. Best Moore: For Your Eyes Only... entirely different from the other Moore's prior to that... again, 3 dimensional with villians less so megla-maniacal. Although Im not that old, was introduced to the films, later the novels at an early age-hookd

  • From Russia w/Love happens to be my favorite as is Connery.

As for Roger Moore, my favorite is his debut film, Live and Let Die. Your comment about For Your Eyes Only is interesting. Personally, I think this should have been Moore's last Bond film...never cared much for Tim Dalton or Pierce Brosnan...

  • my favorite bond is moore, and my favorite film is the spy who loved me....

  • ..Really, a Roger Moore fan...? As you've probably read, I'm a die hard Connery fan. But for me, Live and Let Die is Moore's best Bond...

  • i can watch live and let die, the man with the golden gun, the spy who loved me, moonraker, and octopussy all day!! my best friend is a conney fan, and always defeat our favorites bond films.

  • Bloody Fantastic!

  • Realy nice trailer. This makes me want to see this movie again, even though i know how bad it is:P This movie should have been the epic final chapter in the Connery/Lazeby era, 6 films to build up the tension, they had everything to make this the greatest and most interesting Bond film, and they blew it.

  • Agreed. Very, very well done. By the way, some other observers have also said that Diamonds was Connery's "worst Bond"...

  • Interesting and good retake on what I consider the nadir of the Bond franchise. (having only seen through the Connory, Lazenby and Moore eras so far). Somehow some of the more daffy Bond movies deserve treatment like this in your trailers...(something akin to "Moonraker" or "A View to a Kill"...can't say "The Man with the Golden Gun" cause that film just works start to finish)

  • That was awesome, it's a shame the movie ain't has good has this trailer :)

  • Agreed. The movie was not as good as this trailer...LOL!

  • I just watched this film again yesterday, and I have to say, I wish Lazenby had stayed.

  • ...LAZENBY wishes he had stayed...LOL!

  • @powersevilgoldmember well i kind of liked connery in this one and it wouldve been interestin 2 see how ohmss wouldve turned out with him but still i liked lazenby 2 a little it was just too spurr of the moment 2 have the most pivital bond flick with a one time guy

  • Excellent. What's the music you use for most of it?

  • That's the non-choir version of "Gothix" by X-Ray Dog.

  • The idea for this trailer obviously flew over both your heads.

If I wanted to make a straight DAF trailer I would've put some cheesy music with elephants pulling the slot machines and all. This trailer is just an idea of what the movie would look like had it followed OHMSS.

I thought I made that clear in the description but apparently some people can't grasp the concept of storytelling through clever editing.

Oh, and DAF a classic? hahaha, maybe it would be if they made it like this.

  • @Chigawa while i side with u i do personally love diamonds are forever the only over the top thing was the laser but blofeld had the right idea on how 2 use it i mean i just like blofelds face time v.s yolt and how its not a dramatic ending like ohmss or casino royale like they shuldve just said she was assassinated in between movies idk im just tryin to justify the flaws in this movie

  • @TheDrYes then it would have killed the whole concept of the importance of her character tbf ur idea is jus really the same of how they ingored her in this film.

  • Wow! Amazing!!

  • just how it should be done. well done

  • I just realised where the narration at the end comes from, the World is Not Enough trailer! Great inclusion!

  • Holy hell! That was your best Bond trailer hands down...

Considering 'Diamonds' is really a bright, light hearted film, you made it look dark and badass... A more direct sequel as it should have been. Much like 'Quantum'.

I absolutley love the dark, grittiness you added to this film... Superb, excellent work!

  • Your best one ever!

  • well done cameron!

  • "Whatever's happenin' Mr. Bond has started!"

This is definitely the worst line in the Bond series, it doesn't make any sense.

  • Comment removed

  • It does make sense. Is it good? That's a matter of opinion. It sounds great in its position in this trailer.

  • Sorry. That comment was supposed to be a reply to another comment, the one about Jimmy Dean's line "Whatever's happenin' Mr. Bond has started!"

  • Excellent work, Chigawa!

  • It sure should have been this way
