The belt HURT! we also got whipped with a switch. That hurts too. And he'd always hit you thre or four times with that damned belt, and always on your butt or thighs.

Its a student film about asking for and needing mercy. Its not a statement about the need for corporeal punishment on children. Just a short project with mercy as the theme. Not very dramatic to pray for mercy when someone yells "TIME OUT" at you. Maybe a better and less traumatic punishment in the real world, but this is not the real world. This is a movie, a very bad student movie attempting to show the occasional need to ask for and show mercy.

no it isn't...that was showing a belting. spanking is far different than using an implement on a small child. sorry... i think it is barbaric to use leather or wood or anything like that on a small child or children

great video! when a child is waiting for a spanking ,they often time prey for mercy from God. The parent ignores God and spanks anyway. The child is confussed and blames God . no wonder children no longer want to go to church.

Excellent, ennuiblu! Very interesting use of black and white and color in your film. Must have taken quite a bit of planning to execute and a lot of time cutting. Your dad, mom, and sister I presume are the actors. They deserve credit. We need just a bit more resolution of the plot at the end. Perhaps a touch, holding hands or a hug to show forgiveness?

Thanks for your positive words. Because this short was produced as a film school assignment I had very stringent time restraints and could not fit further credits or add more to the conclusion. Hopefully, I will be able to improve on my skills with my upcoming classes this Fall and Spring semester.

naw, man. when the glass broke, it broke the top portion. Thats the part that is shattered on the ground. The base of the glass is thicker, so it didn't completely shatter when it hit the ground.

great i love it shows mercy and it gives parents something to see that someone actually had mercy on there child and usually they dont have mercy so it shows parents need to have mercy sometimes
