At the end they talk about why that guy had to drive so dangerously to get away? Its because the cops kept pushing him. With the chopper watching, they could have just backed off. The way the police kept chasing him, he could have hit and killed somebody. The chopper could have told them where he was going, and the cops could have stayed out of sight on parallel streets, then closed in when he stopped and got out.

I still do NOT understand why the hell police bother chasing when you have traffic in the air watching his every move. All the police are doing is creating more possible chances for someone to be seriously hurt or even killed by giving him a reason to run. The second that they had eyes in the air on the scene, they should always pull back and wait for the suspect to exit the vehicle.
