One of the best FF games ever IMO. All the fun of FF with a limited amount of crazy BS. I could progress pretty far in the game without getting stuck and not knowing where to go.
`Maybe this wasn't the most deep of final fantasy games, but between the awesome music and the bitchin' Cat Claw this was a game worth playing. Hell, at least it isn't Secret of the Stars
use to play this on sick days from school. amazing game, despite what people say, this game is fucking awesome. I cannot even imagine someone putting it down. Great game!
I never will forget getting this game back in I think very early 1995. It was VERY fun, simple, and had some ROCKIN' fun music. Some people claim that this game is "below average", but if it would have came out on the NES in 1987, it would have been considered GROUND BREAKING. Just listen to this music, and how much it BLOWS AWAY the Genesis. I just have to shake my head when I hear Sega fanboys lie saying that the Genesis has better sound. The SNES was, and still is the KING of all RPG's.
Is it wrong to be hearing the ingame sounds as I watch the video? X)
For such a simple game, the music is awesomely epic. Fossil Labyrinth and the normal fight music are my favs, and the overworld song, just becuase it sounds so heroically quest-y.
Haha, I had no idea this was a Final Fantasy game, even though it says it right in the title. I used to just love walking around through the game and chopping down trees. I was very young when I played it, so yeah. Great game, I love how the characters wiggle nonstop. :)
Even though it wasn't my favorite Final Fantasy game I always enjoyed the music from this cart. Of course there aren't many Square games that I don't enjoy the music from. >.>
This game has the greatest town music ever. I agree that the boss battle is awesome as hell too, but for some reason I always loved the town music. I even took my tape recorder and set the microphone by the TV and recorded a whole 90-minute tape of that music just to listen to while I was at work.

who the fuck are you to tell me what to do? just keep playing these crappy games, looking at these other comments i see you got company. you've got a lot of swagger protected by the screen of your pc.
Although it was simplistic and easy, I enjoyed this game and was impressed by the music. I loved that they went for a hard rock sound with some tracks, like the battle music. Nice video.
I've played most of them over the years, but I rarely keep games for very long. I just snag footage from YouTube and other sites to have something to watch, but in your case, I'd recommend an emulator. Yeah, sure, I'm going to hell or whatever, but at least I played a bunch of cool games.
I usually find that playing emulators doesn't have the good old "charm" that playing the NES or SNES have. But I guess you can "emulate" the experience by playing it on your TV, I just don't think it's the same thing.
Classic SNES game. I used to play this game all the time back in 1992 and 1993. It's primitive compared to the Final Fantasy games today, but as a classic, it has a special place in my heart. And the music from this game is some of the best I've ever herd. It's quite epic.
This brings back quite a lot of good memories from all those great moments in the game... I remember when the world offered by this game seemed so immense... it is little compared to modern day Final Fantasy, but it still holds a dear place in my heart.
I think I was the only person who got the full benefit of this game when it came out. I had never played FF before, this game is like FF for beginners. After playing this, I was shocked at how much more depth FF3 had, but I don't think I would have appreciated it as much if I hadn't played this first.
I gritted my teeth when I started making this vid. One of the few games I actually remember thinking 'this is terrible' as a kid, and my bar for video game appreciation was really, really low back then.
But I was told that the music was pretty sweet, and any game that has half traditional FF music and half cheesy butt-rock gets two thumbs up from me.
Yeah, I can see where you're coming from, but in my case, I had *just* finished FFII (IV... whatever). By comparison, this game seemed like a pretty big step backwards. Little did I know that it was a US-made title, and FFIII would come along and more than make up for it.
One of the best FF games ever IMO. All the fun of FF with a limited amount of crazy BS. I could progress pretty far in the game without getting stuck and not knowing where to go.

I like "Mystic Quest" and "Lufia". But the MQ fight animation was cooler 'cause you saw the "enemies health" in their portraits.^^

As everyone else says. The music is what this game is known for.
Instead of seeing a lets play or something similar for nostalgic elements,
all it needs is Garudoh's "music of..."
After hearing the music, we all can say
"O yeh, the game was that good"
This is probably the best reason for having the "music of video games" series.

You don't "deverve" to speak.
This is the perfect game to get somebody started on RPGs. It's short, has a great story, and the audio and visuals are amazing together.

This is (perhaps) the game that best optimizes fun-factor with simplicity.
Even though this game may be overlooked by other Squaresoft best-sellers, it has one of the best soundtracks I've heard.
To those whom have liked the music of this game, I recommend hearing that of Ys series, especially Ys III (or its remake Oath in Felghana).
Thank you, Garudoh, for all videos. Great job (in terms of quantity and quality)!
