AJ's gonna be better because he's a number 3. The Yanks have 5 aces on their staff with CC, Wang, AJ, Pettitte, and Joba. Joba's gonna be their ace one day if he doesn't become their closer, Pettitte had ace-type stuff a while back, Wang WAS their ace for a few years, CC is no doubt an ace, and AJ would be an ace on most pitching staffs in the MLB. Since he's their 3RD starter, he's gonna face the other team's #3s, meaning that he'll have some shitty pitchers every once in a while. GO YANKS!

Wang was our ace, and since you say he's "average," I guess that means that 50% of MLB pitchers get 19 wins most of the time. Pettitte is average, because he's getting on in years. Joba is going to be the Yanks ace or closer one day.

CC is the only sure bet, Burnett is always injured and isn't a great pitcher anyway, Wang is extremely average, nothing more, nothing less, You're a fucking idiot if you think Petitte is an ace...he's a below average pitcher, Joban could be pretty good but for now he is just okay...

okay theres a flip side to that coin:

Becket is pretty dominant but has been inconsistent....Lester pretty good hasnt proven himself 100%....Matsusaka walks way too many guys but he's okay, Penny is coming off an injury and was descent on NL now hes in the AL, and Smoltz is old and below average pitcher he can bearly hit 90 so i dont real see how the redsox have that much better of a rotation. Pettite isnt an ace but hes more than a average pitcher he could be a number 2 starter for many teams.
