Actually that creates an interesting premise. I've been experimenting with delayed redstone timers using water and pressure plates. I've managed to create a timer that is consistently about 3 minutes, complete with phases that trigger different area's destroying (Say, out of the first section in 30 seconds).

I'm thinking of remaking Metroid fusions entire map in minecraft. I already have some ideas on how the elevators and such can work.. but of course it involves haxx. xD.

That you could actually do without hacks to be honest. Use water falls and boats as your elevators.

@ElliotCarver id want to make it more metroidish. less minecraftish. idk. the waterfall elevators would be early on, then later id find an alternative method. I was thinking kinda along the lines of making some complex controlerblock elevator.

Well, since you would need a texture pack anyway, why not simply replace the boat with an orange glowing discus? Sure, you'd move quickly downwards and slow as hell upwards, but it would work.

Until somebody sank the elevator of course.

Yes, Simply because I didn't want to take the time to commit sheep genocide to get that much wool, nor did I want to waste time deconstructing the entire top of the mountain, placing TNT (insert assumed creeper genocide here), then REBUILDING the mountain to have it explode.
