romeoracz maybe you should learn about sherpas before you go blabbin your mouth. They make like 10k+ each for every time they go up Everest. You absolutely CANNOT go up Everest alone, there is tons of stuff you need to bring, and Sherpas are experts on Everest. So stfu until you learn.
Kid, read some climbing forums, ypu will learn more about the Sherpas. BTW, most of them have books with references, usually good opinions, hard to find "dont take this asshole" comment. So, kid, learn something before U comment anything.
Its an expedition to trace the last known moves of the early Mallory expedition. They're out there making a documentary which will no doubt exemplify the fact that the Sherpas work damn hard on the mountain.
The sherpas do it for little money? Funny, cause even the cheapest accents cost about 30 grand... going with a proper professional expedition team will cost up to and over 60 grand!!!!!
Most of it goes to the Nepal government, which charges ~$25,000 for a climbing permit. Then the expedition companies charge $10,000+, way more if you want a guide like Ed Viesturs. Then there's equipment, and traveling to and from Nepal.
A good sherpa will make at most $1500 for the expedition, which could take over a month. That's a great salary in their area, but it's far from a lot of money.
a big portion of that fee goes to some governing body that sells the permits to actually try to summit everest. That's why it only costs $5,000 or $6,000 if you want to go to just the Col and not the summit. The average Sherpa family income in the Solu/Khumbu area is about $1,100 per year. The high-altitude climbing porters and guids, however, make more like $7,000 per year. Still, for risking your life daily 5 months of the year... that's not so great.
You are a sad man.Not all us AMERICANS are stupid you ass!!Sherpas are the life lines of that mountain and nobody disagrees with that.I think really you just are racist and dont like white people.Which is fine cause im sure we wouldnt like you either douche bag.Die climbing you dick

What the hell are you on about?
Do you know what these films are about?
They're not tourists in any sense whatsoever.
