Really many thanks for posting this. I am from Yeovil - yeah I know but close to Brizzle. Now I live in Turkey and like you have lost my accent completely, so ı used your video to give my students an idea of how we talk back home. Nothing funnier then a class of Turkish students practicing " ooh aaa me andsome" :) Thanks again:)
Ive lived in New Zealand all my life, believe it or not, when growing up, I picked up the Bristolian accent,(Mother worked nights, so didnt get much time wif her) from my father, now thats the good bit, the bad bit.....1hr each day sitting and being taught real english from my Mother PMSL
everywhere we go, people always ask us, who we are, and where we come from, so we tell them, WE'RE FROM BRISTOL, mighty mighty Bristol, and if they can't hear us, SHOUT A LITTLE LOUDER, WE'RE FROM BRISTOL, MIGHTY MIGHTY BRISTOL,
Also, I've never met a Bristolian who pronounced Bristol as Brizzle. Always seems to be a word used by non Bristol people who claim thats the way "they" (meaning Bristol accented people) say Bristol.
Bristol accented people pronouce Bristol as "Bristaw"
Also, how come your tags include "combine harvester" "tractor" "farmers" ? You haven't ever really been to Bristol have you? Anyone else reading this search for some footage of Bristol on here - and see if you spot ANY of the above!
you dont sound much like us and the only one of those i have never heard apart from on the wurzels is oo arr the rest of em are said all the time round where i live
I come from Somerset, though I was originally born in Surrey. I don't sound like I come from Somerset though, I NEVER say "gurt" or "brung", and I don't have that particular accent which is strange.
god dunno anyone who says i give it ee these days thats old school lol i sound kinda like her just not so strained its a gift to sound like a farmer init
Thumbs up if it was strangely annoying!
