  • Has anyone got there hand on the new '59/Custom hybrid from SD?

  • Hello Nice Tones. I've watched all of your videos comparing the different pickups. How would you compare these Dimarzio 36th anniversary to the Tom Holmes? Are they similar? Which did you settle with in this guitar?

  • great sounding guitar. but going through all that trouble of getting a replica made, you should of had him put the tail piece in the vintage position and not the reissue position. im really thinking about getting a set of these for my r8

  • @LesterPaul01 yes drop D! Rock on!

  • Man, you got the "Just got Paid" progression down pat. Did you drop D tune?

  • Dude, no matter what pup you have in your LP, they all sound sick man. I dig the TH pups by a hair. LOL. Rock on!

  • great guitar....and nice playing....but can you turn the light on in the room???

  • what do you think the bridge or the neck pickup sounds better.because i am thinking of buing this on brifge and the seymour duncan seth lover on neck.what do you think ? i play blues, jazz, classic and hard rock

  • @socratesvak Hi! I think, that These Pickups sound really good. Specially the neck Pickup.

  • That guitar sounds great man! How much did it cost?

  • are these pickups good for metal?

  • @epidyfilms Maybe not enough "warp"?!? Try the Nailbomb set of Bare Knuckle...

  • @GrandZeppelinBand ok thanks. probobly a les paul studio?

  • now that IS what I call woddy sound. PERFECT!

  • These sound unbelievable! Any idea if they would sound good in the bridge position of a poplar body guitar?

  • @naveed211 Yes, I´m sure you´ll get best results with theese!

  • HI!

I checked all videos. I was totally surprised by DiMarzio. It has most vintage bite of all. I specially refer to mid-range "growl", bark and microphonics, "nasal" qualities to the tone. Leave all the prejudice, DiMarzio nailed it. All other competitors are great pups, but do sound thin on bridge. For vintage, slightly overdrive sound, this are great! Great job on test videos :) !

  • Thanks for sharing..how much did this cost?

  • Hi,

kannst du mir vielleicht sagen, wo du die DiMarzios mit Kappe herbekommen hast? Vielen dank!

  • @LarryDiMarzio hi mr.larry. sorry OOT. is there a humbucker pickup that have the same tone with DP206?

  • @2020shredfest1980

I actually use the Holmes set.

    Very happy with it!

    Greets

  • I'm pleased with the 36th Anni PAF in the bridge of my 335. Not so thin and borderline shrill as the duncan '59 I'd had in there. The 36th is a midder, beefy P/U and goes great with an Air Classic (neck)

  • I'm sure this has been asked before but I didn't really bother to check :) So, which among the four you feel is the best and finally kept and why ? And thanks for the wonderful demo man...Cheers !!!

  • @The1970sInfatuate sounds cool! You are happy with the mods?

    The most important thing!

    Greets

  • I don't know if I told you about my Les Paul, but I modified it all myself in early March. My pickups are: DiMarzio Air Classic Neck and the DiMarzio Virtual Hot PAF Bridge.

I did the whole Jimmy Page wiring mod myself with 4 push/pull pots as well.

  • Sounds close to a Les Paul traditional.

  • You shuld commet on I'm a burrsting angle a boy is on it singing

  • @rotosphere99 JCM 800 2204

  • @GrandZeppelinBand

What speakers are you running this through?

  • what jcm 800? 2204 or 2205?

  • @The1970sIfatuate Hi Brian! I allready sold the DiMarzios to a friend because he really needed them! I m sorry! Greets!

  • Can you please do a demo video of the Bare Knuckle mule neck pickup combined with the DiMarzio 36th Anniversary bridge pickup? I really want to pair these two pickups together in my les paul. I like the 36th Anniv. bridge pickup tone, but I like The Mule neck pickup, since it's got an Alnico 4 magnet to sound a bit more mellow.

    Thanks,

    Brian

  • @rigidarm1 A Friend of mine built it. His name is Bernd Holzgruber. He used to build world famous acousticguitars. This LP is one of the best guitars I ve ever owned... I love it!

  • Very Cool, especially when you broke into Just Got Paid @ 2:57. Big fan of Bonamassa. So who made the replica i'd like to have one. Can't ever see me getting a 58-59 unless I sell my house for it. I do like the tone even if its only thru this Mac and skullcandies. Thanks for fun vid

  • @rigidarm1 Just Got Paid is a ZZ Top song...

Anyway, these sound really good. They sound the most like PAFs of all the ones that you are testing out here. Maybe the Tom Holmes bridge might be closer, but the neck and middle position of the the Dimarzios seem to do it best. The Mules aren't even close to my ears.

  • @TarheelAl10 There is a lot to say about this. In 59, Gibson used magnets featuring different alnico grades : II, III and IV, never V as Dimarzio's. So there are different 59 tones and every one has a particular 59 sound in mind. I think they sounded close but different and I'm not really estonished every current gurus / brands produce his own PAF59. At Bare Knuckle there is a choice between four or five models, it's different.

  • Actually liked the DiMarzios best.

And a very nice burst color you have chosen there.

  • @fcv79 the DiMarzios seem to me a bit compressed. The Holmes set is more open and detailed.

  • The dimarzio seems to be a bit warmer than the Tom Holmes pups, what do you think ?
