  • Scéimhiúil ceol Enya. Go mbeannai Dia thú.

  • Beautiful, but a shame that YouTube has to strip commercials across the bottom. It is yet more commercialization of a religious mood. I realize YouTube has to make money but isn't there a less intrusive way of doing ads???

  • *Gaelic

  • I think I should learn Irish...cuz I want to sing it this way <3

  • 5+* Merry Christmas Happy Holidays

  • Absolutely stunning. I'm not religious in any way but this so beautiful I cannot resist it. Is this the best Xmas song ever or what...? Her voice is so haunting it makes the hairs on the back of my neck strand up.

  • ummm, Irish? Isn't that Gaelic?

  • @Baritone45 is it the same? >.< it's a real question, I'm from Spain =)

  • @kosmostragedy I'm no expert, but as I understand there's an Irish version and a Scottish version of Gaelic. I made that joke because I think the native language in Ireland is called Gaelic. Never heard it called Irish.

  • Where there are humans there will be argument. Even with just one's self there will be argument.

  • the trench seemed colder than usual that night, and the fires burned warmer and brighter than ever, each side determined that the other wouldnt shoot. as we sat, i began to hum a few bars of "silent night". the others soon joined in. soon, both sides were singing the song as though the war was a distant, gruesome piece of history. but as i sang, i thought about the lives of friends lost, and of those id soon loose. the night passed by slower, and snow began to fall. -an exerpt of my own writing.

  • is gaelic an irish language? i'm kinda confused....

  • @Clariguard Gaelic is a irish language. But in Scotland, it's said garlick (I know this as I seen Julie Folwis, Runrig) In Ireland it's said as galic, but it's common to be said as Irish.

  • @RunrigFan It is not 'common' to be said as Irish; that's the official name of the language in English.

  • @RunrigFan No, in Scotland they speak Scottish Gaelic (pronounced "Gah-lick") which is a separate language to Irish Gaelic (pronounced as "Gay-lick") but more commonly known as just Irish.

  • @yrhyngrwyd No you're wrong watch?v=Ejs7hFpSL4A - Guess you never heard of Runrig

  • @RunrigFan He says "Gah-lick". I don't understand the relevance.

  • @yrhyngrwyd I met them and he said Garlic.

  • @yrhyngrwyd huh ? I was lead to believe Gaelic and Celt were seperate from each other !?? I didn't read down or up here, your answer, caught my eye ! Nor am I any scholar , which is the reason I rudely interjected.

  • enya is not singing silent night in irish she is singing this in polish im polish but i cant speak polish at all i want to learn to speak polish pretty song by the way.

  • @ashley13carr This is NOT Polish. This is Gaelic.

  • @ashley13carr

You probably shouldn't talk about things you have no knowledge of, she is speaking Irish (Gaelige)

  • @ashley13carr WTF WOULD SHE SING 'OICHE CHIUIN' IN POLISH?! CEN SORT AMADADAN IS LEATSA?

  • @ashley13carr lol. this is not polish...
