  • now i know what to do with the leftover potatoes xD

  • I love your tank! Do you think my orandas would eat potatoes?

  • do they eat it all?

  • @jean9910 no they just pick at it

  • @TheRossiboy Rossiboy Did you clean the potato and like put it in like a microwave or did you just clean it and put it in the tank ? becouse i am thinking of duing thatwith my gourimais

  • The potato is the same colour as your gourami! Maybe it thinks its another gourmami and is saying "Hello. Did you know you are covered in shrimp!?"

  • @PetaPanPipes haha maybee :)

  • Comment removed

  • Is it cooked

  • @gz1423 yes boiled in a pan for 15 mins on a high gas then left to cool

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! NOT THE POTATOO!!!! it makes them fat, thay cant breed well after potato!!! do not give them that anymore!!! please next time give them squash, or carrot, or cucumber! please listen to me i know what i am saying!

  • @RedCupOranda btw, those arent cardinals, those are RED NEON TETRAS

  • @RedCupOranda They are definately cardinal tetras

  • @RedCupOranda Same thing lol... Usually fish have lots of common names. Lets just call them Paracheirodon Axelrodi! =D

  • @spudsssy good call spuds :)

  • @spudsssy there is lot of diferences between cardinal tetra and red or blue neon tetra, type on google and you will se at your own ;)

  • @RedCupOranda no need to be like that. I will carry on feeding them potatoes as it's never previously done them harm, starch is also an important part of their diet in moderation just like too much fries is bad for you but it's fine in moderation.

  • Hello Rossy, great video! I noticed that the potato really like shrimp and I felt that the potato really like the pleco, and since I have two big, I think that I will follow your advice ....

  • @apulia75 cool

  • did you skin the potato then put it in there

  • @FishAreBeast no just left the skin on...you can take it off if you want

  • cucumber is good for the fish

  • @TheTheking6174 Yeah I've heard of that but my fish don't seem to touch it and cucumber floats:/

  • @TheRossiboy If you microwave the cucumber in a little bit of water until it's boiled for about 20 seconds, that makes it soft enough for the fish to eat and it doesn't float. My fish love it. :)

  • @fishhhhhhhhhhhhh I'll give it another go

  • how many fish do you have in that tank

  • @saveryanplz umm 17 plus 6 amano shrimp

  • @TheRossiboy nice i realy want some neon tetras and cardinals and maybe some glass catfish

  • @saveryanplz go for it :)

  • i thought u had 2 gouramis

  • @fishy686 well I did :/ When I got it from the store one was a bit skinny, and it had a few small black patches on it...the fish gradually deteriated and died, I later found out that the disease was a parasite was called costicia so I dosed the tank to prevent any of the other fish getting ill and they all seem fine and ther's no symptoms I was lucky I caught it in time...but I'll watch out for costicia next time

  • have u been able to hatch any of the amano eggs?

  • @asiandude666 no they haven't layed them yet...but the babies won't hatch because it's freshwater

  • I want to do a java fern only tank what would you reccomend for lighting

  • @xCODxRDRxHALOxGAMERx sounds like a great idea...java fern prefers low-medium light so a T12-T8 bulb :)

  • @xCODxRDRxHALOxGAMERx i have one tank with only java ferns and its variations (windelov i believe)

stick it on all some wood and looks awesome

  • @BenPursey yep once they figure out it's food they go crazy!

  • Yummy!

  • @weareallwet they seem to think so lol

  • =D!!!!!

  • @spudsssy haha thought you'd like it spuds :)

  • Do the potatoes have to be organic

  • @xCODxRDRxHALOxGAMERx It'd probably be better but I just use regular potatoes :)

  • hey Ross, are you going to breed the amano shrimp? i had a go before but no luck the fry have to be put into salt water for like 2months or something

  • @djrichimc no I haven't got the room to set up a brackish tank for the babies so they wont hatch :( yep your right about the 2 months thing but it's brackish water 50% salt 50% freshwater :)

  • what kind of shrimp is that? japonica?

  • @F1shguy They are amano shrimp...they are sometimes called yamato shrimp :)

  • hey man, nice vid! i never knew you could feed your fish potatos! do you have to do anything special to the potatos to make them safe?

and also, howd you get berried amano shrimp? i thought they only breed in brackish!

  • @chicktapus33 Thanks man :) Yeah they love it! you have to slice em up and boil them for 15-20 mins to soften them up and then leave them to cool...put em in the tank for 1-2 hours...no longer or the starch will leak out and clout the water but it's harmless anyways :) The amano shrimp mate in freshwater but the babies won't hatch sadly...I'd need brackish for them to hatch

  • great vid ross

  • @tropix579 Thanks adam :)

  • haha

  • @Everythingaquarium om nom nom nom
