I am building a haunted house this october and I am wondering where you got the guy with the leaches on it or what ever was in the butcher shop. I originally was mental duck 61 but had to change it to more of a name that fits what I like which in that case is halloween. I will update you on any videos because of the comment up there. ^
the shaking pirate in the cage i go to the same place every year and they have it and it makes me laugh because it says let me out and then somthi after that about somthing lol that place looks epic ! wish i could go there and get spooked :)
@mentalduck61 Believe it or not but people LOVE pirates. I personally could go without them in a haunt, but visitors seem to like them... so they stay!
@teecee2468 My haunts were free from 2006-2009. I started charging in 2010 when I moved it into a large store-front. Of the hundreds of people that went through, only 1 person complained it wasn't worth the entrance fee... so I was pretty happy with that :-)
@teecee2468 to answer your previous question: No offence taken :-) My ability to buy all of this stuff is a combination of a few things... 1. Always buy in the off season, especially right after Halloween. Stores sell everything at deep discounts. 2. Buy in bulk. Merchants will cut you deals when you buy a lot at once. 3. I worked at a Halloween store and benefited from a really good employee discount.
@teecee2468 4. I became friend with the store owner, and that resulted on even better discounts and deals. 5. Look for deals on auction sites, garage sales, and other discount party sites. 6. Finally, start making props. Come up with your own creative solutions to the expensive you can't afford. Remember, its not about how much money you have, its about how smart you are with that money. Thanks for watching my videos!
@MrChadster001 Thanks! We had s small handful of actors, roughly 4-8. It's was in Westchester, NY. This years haunt will be in a new building but still in Westchester.
@geyser463 I don't have an exact total since I've been collecting for years, but it's not cheap! If you shop around and buy stuff after Halloween for the following year, you can save a lot of money...
We had a rotating crew of live actors, but they are not in the online videos. I had a host at the entrance, a tour guide, and a few people hidden in the haunt. It worked out nicely!

that's awesome! in my year-round haunt, i use a total of around 26-30 actors per night.
homehaunter09 2 years ago
does it use live actors?
homehaunter09 2 years ago
We had a rotating crew of live actors, but they are not in the online videos. I had a host at the entrance, a tour guide, and a few people hidden in the haunt. It worked out nicely!

I got this guy from Fright Catalog. They had a good 50% off sale and I believe they're sold out now. Search their site for "Life Size Cloaked Reaper"
