  • Shitty music. Lennon's original is a million times better.

  • Very nicely done! I am impressed!

  • False religion is a snare a racket,True religion liberates, how are we liberated? Read Gods word daily and ask for Him to help you find the liberating Truth. And then you will be set Free from all this confusion. I don't blame any of you guys for thinking that way.

  • But I do believe the majority of religious people are weak minded as fuck, and would believe anything as long as their Pastor,Iman,Rabies, or Priest said it. I personally think religious people are gullible as fuck most of them, and can't even think for themselves a lot of times. It's like they have to rely on someone else for opinion and perception in life instead of trying to search for their own purpose that's just how I feel about religion.

  • I'm not an atheist, but I don't care for religion either, but to impute them for all the wrong in the world is just flat out predigest and bias. I think people should be able to life their life however they want to, just as long as they're not harming anyone. It's in human nature to engage into conflict and act cruel. That's why I try to not act as human as possible, because really we were responsible for this Earth, but look we fucked it up. We can never have a Utopia because corrupted people.

  • @thedeadlyflow That is a lame argument because the equation is so one sided. In other words religion is so vile that removing it would be revolutionary. Religion is about coercion through fear, guilt, reward and punishment. This creates a society is neurotics and psychotics.

Generations with no religion, or nationalism, would be free from that particular disease.

Patriotism, nationalism and religion are mind control techniques. Not healthy!

  • @TheStrangeRanger I didn't say all religious people were evil bro they have some really good religious people. My moms a christian and dads and Muslim. So it's not like I don't know about religion or anything like that.I was talking about the General population of people who are in a Religion.I wasn't making an argument bro I was making a statement.

  • @thedeadlyflow You miss the point. Nevermind.

  • is there any point in me commenting(christian)? Religion has only been used as a backdrop, a scapegoat, a justification of the ambitions of people who are greedy. Mammon is the true enemy and the worship of it.

  • The price of religion generally and Christianity specifially

    has been war, murder, slavery,

human sacrifice, censorship, book burnings, witch hunts,

cannibalism, sexual abuse, genocide, shame, fear, enmity,

the repression of science, the destruction of nations and cultures...

Thank reason atheism is outstripping religion, finally!

    Education dissolves religion.

  • yeah but the combined death tolls of all wars about religion excedes that off WWI and WWII doesnt it?

  • Wait what does this have to do with anything? The 2 biggest wars in human history (WWI and WWII) weren't caused by religion at all!

  • true... if one day the United Nations declared all American paper money worthless... it would be worthless... outside of america, money is only worth what it can buy, however purchasable items are always worth the same in terms of other purchaseable items, and since the Vatican and other christian denominations own thousands if not millions of TONNES of gold i'd say no matter how devalued paper money is... they will stay rich, and since money is power in our corrupt world... they rule.

  • why does everyone think nazi's were socialists... socialism is the less-radical little brother of communism and COMMUNISM is the exact OPPOSITE of NAZISM so this whole Obama is a socialist hitler nazi sack of crap... only proves the people who claim this are even more ignorant than anyone had predestinately imagined!

  • @Jarut195 actually the party of nazi was the national socialism Party but I don't know much about it I could bet they were much more Nationalist than socialist since they killed Millions of people and they didnt helped them ( and I think they intended to help them In the beginning)

  • Regardless of the merits or lack thereof of religion or lack thereof, this a confused, bland trite, and petty video on the same level of a "Sephiroth" fan video with various pictures with a "Evanescence" song playing in the background.

  • You know, id take this more seriously if you didn't show nazism.

Jews were religious people persecuted by a hateful socialistic government.

It is not really faith that should be questioned, its your own information that should be.

The only TRUE blasphemy I have is when history itself is defiled to meet the needs of someone to prove a point.

  • don't worry I agree with your vid

  • since beginning of organised religion there has been alot of killing. religion is the nr1 killer in the world. guidelines eh. haha

  • Actually, historians would actually refute that notion quite vigoriously.

  • What are you stupid? Money is the number w killer in the world by a huge fucking margin. Religion isn't even fucking close.

  • nr1 killer? haha not likely, but not far its getting there but still many fights has religious tendencies behind them. idiot

  • Greed, resources, money. These are the big 3 behind war, religion is a distant 4th.

  • dont be so naive, what is the richest organization in the world?

  • That's debatable.

  • Vatican by far, they have the biggest gold reserve in the world. printable money has no worth, everyone with some economical sense knows that.

  • @waster125 greed and money are kinda similar

  • really? so those people a few steps east of us screaming ALALALALALALALALALALALALALALA!!!!!!!! just before they blow themselves to shit are in it for the money?

  • @SuicideComando69 not for the virgin

  • Religions are guidelines on how to live your lives. Different religions host differenet beliefs on how you should live (ppl who believe in god r retarded to think theres an invisible man governing there life and we have to do what he says (oh and by the way this "god" u pray to are religious leaders manipulating the bible to serve there will because they know ppl r stupid enuff to do what they say as long as they connect it to god)) wise up for real.

  • to anyone who says religion causes war.

culture causes war. religon being an aspect of culture just gets dragged along.

tribalism was around long before religion.

  • In the Middle East Islam = Culture

    Culture = 9/11

9/11 = Afghanistan and while we're over there Iraq

  • persians, arabs, turks, jordanians still fight amongst themselves. their religion being the same. Tribalism based on cultural differences and good old fashioned greed for resources and power. religions not a necessary ingredient to war.

  • america been in war 20 time since1776 count them

  • your point being

  • USA has been in war since WWII and some has profitted from them all. All americans who gave their lives in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq,Afghanistan etc died in vain and 9/11 was just a bait americans swallowed; and guess who were fishing...

  • yep.. yet the fish killed the fisherman

  • @makelle don,t forget WWI and the small "skirmish" like in phillipines or serbia

  • who sang this version?

  • a perfect circle (thats the name of the band)

  • Thanks.

  • slavery and the nazi party are not religions and jesus and christianity and catholicism have nothing to do with middle eastern terrorism. almost nothing in this video can be linked together.

and why did you put the columbine pic in there? those guys certainly were not religious.

  • who said everything had to do with christiannity?

  • wel you put pictures of Jesus and the Bible and the Pope directly before and after some pictures of terrorists and it doesnt make much sense because they dont even believe in Jesus. and i didnt say you were trying to link everything to Christianity. Im just saying its all a bit mixed up to really make a point and things like Hitler and the Holocaust really dont fit into riligion being bad. If anything its saying "oh, poor religious people" cause Hitler hated Jews and certainly wasnt religious.

  • pretty much everything is fucked up in my head.so it makes sense that a video i make is fucked up. jesus is not the only thing that means religion .. "terrorists" as you say may not believe in jesus.. but they are religious. George W bush is a terrorist also.. probably worsth than those muslims ones. and guess what.. HE IS BIG-TIME RELIGIOUS.

  • well i agree that some religions are dumb. like how the middle eastern terrorists think that by killing people they will get to go to a place with a bunch of virgins or w/e. but i mean some religions arent that bad. what has george bush done? yeah he decided to go to war but i mean...the US has to stand up for itself. if we hadnt gone to war and hadnt been thought of as a threat, they (the middle east) probably would have caused more bombings.

  • first of all, the dumb religion you refer to (islam) doesnt actually say to bomb and kill innocent people, thats just some extremists warped view. also, the war in afghanistan would have been to stand up for itself, but the war iraq was for oil - which is not a just cause to kill thousands of people.

  • so steriotypicaly american...

not only islam is dumb.. It's just as stupid as Christiannity or w/e. war in Iraq is totally stupid and useless. America doesnt has to stand for itself, they have to fuckin keep their noses in their business.they just went there and kill afghans.

  • well, when someone bombs the fuck outta part of one of our major cities...it becomes our buisness.

  • Iraq or afghan,w/e didnt bomb your country, a few extremists did. there's extremists in every religion.

  • I know that...and theres also non-extremists. Obviously some extremists, as u call them, cause unnecessary crap...but that doesnt make the normal everyday Jew, Christain, Muslim, Buddhist, etc., bad. Some of us are quite peaceful believe it or not.

  • I know. I have nothing against christians or w/e when they have nothing against me. I'm a hippy afterall :P you love cool music btw ahah

  • lolz...you too (judging by your username).

  • @CobainFrusciante

What about all the good that religion has achieved in ending racism in places like South Africa and Zimbabwe. What about the Jubilee Campaign?

Where would these people be without religion?

  • @eddyreed79 ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm what created racism? A belief that God (the guy involved in religion and stuff) has granted a certain kind of people special privileges over others?

  • hey a perfect circle (:

  • Getting rid of religion did not prevent Communist nations from going to war, nor did it prevent the governments of those nations from killing there own citizens. Lennon was originally singing your anthem to promote Communism. War is caused by human selfishness and religion tries to control this instinct. From the French revolution to the Khmer Rouge atheistic philosophies have given us horrors at a religious world could not imagine.

  • There have been countless numbers of wars fought FOR religion. However, you cannot say that any wars were fought FOR an atheist cause, just that these men (Stalin, Pol Pot etc.) were evil and happened to be atheists.

  • i love maynard

  • me too :)

  • I hate Donald C

  • you hate pretty much everyone who's not comformist.. go listen to some motley crue while masturbating plz

  • Religion is not inherently evil, but it gets used as an excuse for the wars humanity instinctually wants to wage anyway. The hate comes first, and then religion gets thrown in to try and justify it. Without religion as an excuse, there would be fewer wars, but people would usually be able to come up with other excuses.

  • Oh well we can all try and believe that religion is the root of all evil but its actually stupidity. From stupidity many problems arise, like Religion, money, oil.

  • I am tired of the debate... is there a god? We are all gods. Thou art god. Human behavior is irrational. We need to change. We have been stagnant in our ways while our advancements have given us the keys to unlocking our true potential. We have an open door, we just have to walk through.

  • Is perfect circle hating on John Lennon by making Imagine sound depressing?

  • i dont know lol... i prefer john lennons version but this song kinda changes the chills lol :p

  • Actually I found out that they're associated with tool, so they're in the spirit of the song, they just sound odd because they're odd. For some reason I had the impression that Perfect Circle was a teen Christian band or something, don't know why.

  • ahah lol i dont think they are :p

  • MJK a teen christian singer, I guess he would say he is. Preach it Maynard!

  • No kid's Endoctrination at school, please.

No religion classes on school, please.

  • Religion didnt cause war, its peoples intolerance to everyone elses differences that cause war. Making videos like these will not solve the problems, it will only spark fires. Blaming religion for war only pisses off the religious people, who in return piss off the non religious people, that causes war too.

  • wich one?

  • general war, disputes, harassment, etc. Sure the world without religion would be a hell of a lot more peaceful, but there's nothing anyone can do about that, so why bother trying? Religion will never die. Just learn to live with it. This goes both ways.

  • i know theres always going to be religion but i think i have the right to express my opinion. im not trying to recruit sheeps lol

  • oh thats totally cool man. Figured i could express myself as well. *high fives*

  • i agree, theres absolutly no god... one think i hate is when those christians post a comment on a video saying theres a god and stuff and when you ask them to give proofs they dont say anything... rly grinds my gear :p

  • leave god alone he is real i saw him on the simpsons he was telling homer the meaning of life.

  • lol yeah and i saw him on south park, he explained to them why they were bleeding from their asses :p

  • both the song and slide show were mediocre. but at least you got the point across (barely). but that is more that what I can say i've done to express my viewpoints on religion and war through "you tube".

  • Hitler killing of a load of jews etc, got nothing to do with religion. The fact they believed in the old testament and being religios "jews" had nothing to do with The halocaust.

  • actually, hitler wanted to kill them because he hated curly hair...

  • LOL

  • Hitler was brought up Catholic. His father was Jewish and he hated him for it. He hid this fact for years with brutal acts even imprisoning his own relatives. Only a select few of His generals were interested in the occult... Do you not believe Hitler exterminated the Jews because they were Jews? Do you think the german masses didn't write racial slurs on the stores marking them as Jewish owned.

  • Open a history book... You know... it's a book that has facts in it rather than fairytales and mythical stories.

  • listen... you cant deny that religion has something to do with world war2...

  • You are 100% Correct it absolutely does. The biggest lie is that Adolph Hitler was an Atheist. He was raised Catholic as his mother was. His father was Jewish and this somehow embarrassed him. He imprisoned tortured and even killed his own relatives to hide this "fact".

"I am now as before a Catholic and will always remain so." Adolph Hitler

  • Where is John Lennon anyway??! If he didn't turn to Jesus I'd hate to think about it. He "seemed" like such a nice guy...

  • I really dont understand what you mean by that comment lol...

  • You should have used the original Lennon version. It's far better. But that's just my opinion. Although, with the pictures u put in there, the APC cover probably mathe the mood better.

  • Great video!

  • Thank you very much. :)

  • No problem, that song is great too. Who sings it? I just posted a video very similar to yours. You can check it out if you want. It's titled "It"(religion's impact) you can find it by clicking on my screen name.

  • Thats the song leaving jesusland by NOFx.

  • Are you sure that's the song? It must be a remix; because I just tried getting "leaving jesusland" from itunes and it was different.

  • well that's the name on the CD case i dont think its a cover but it could be a remix, im not sure about that.

  • I found it. It's called "imagine" and it's by Perfect Circle. Thanks bud.

  • oh i just realized :p leaving jesusland is the song in my other vid :p

  • I don't see how you tie these pictures together. How did religion cause the iraq war, columbine shooting, the holocaust???

  • i dont remember saying it caused it...

  • Well you show a religious statement followed by some terrible tragedy. If i misunderstood the video, then tell me, what IS the message you were trying to convey?

  • 9/11 bush went in becuase 9/11 was caused by religious people who hate otehr religions and want iot all to be the same

  • They don't hate us because we are of a different religion, they hate us because the US has messed with their lives for decades upon decades, and supported their enemies. Do you really think if everyone was an atheist, the same Arabs wouldn't have a problem with us?

  • Ummmm their enemies are the Jewish controlled state called Israel. A nation formed after World War Two by stealing the lands of the Palestinians who were Muslims. The one thing you are right about is the Christian controlled USA supported it.

  • So what's your point? They hate the Jews because they took their land. Do you think they would still hate the Jews if they didn't mess with them, or would they not hate Israel if everyone there was atheist?

  • NO!!! Because they took their religious Holy Land not just any land. If everyone was an atheist... There would be no holy land or sacred ground to fight over. I don't hope for everyone to be atheist or non dilusional. We need some delusional people in the world for entertainment value. The world would be a boring place with out them.

  • Sorry about the tone... some immature twit on another page was ruffling my feathers. LOL

  • I think the main reason is the fact that they occupied their territory. Maybe they do use religion as a factor to unify themselves. If everyone was atheist, I think the same conflict would occur, and some other way of unification would be used, like strong nationalism, or following of their leader...

  • This is not what I think... This is what I know. If there were no religions... Muslim, Christian or Judaism etc... the "Muslim" Arabs wouldn't hate us. Not all Arabs hate us. Especially not the Non-Muslim Arabs. The Jews after WWII went to Palestine and forcibly took land because just like the Muslims they believe it to be holy land. Or do you think they threw a dart at a map and that's what is where it landed...

  • We a predominately Christian nation not only stood by but we sent supplies, weapons and military trainers to assist them in their "Illegal" task. Surrounding Muslim nations constantly try to come to Palestine and their fellow Muslims aid to stop Israel from further encroaching on their land by the way of the West Bank.

  • Again, you attach religion as if it has something to do with a nation's wrongdoing. Again, we do not help Jews because we are Christian and they are Jewish.

  • No... a nation run by a clearly religious group with an agenda. I didn't attach it. It is what it is. A fact is a fact. Don't try to say I am trying to make it so through my implications. It is a Jewish State. research the Israeli census. Listen to the leaders speeches. Look at the historical actions. I had nothing to do with it. And yes as a predominately Christian nation the United States does support their actions however low key we've been keeping it after 9/11.

  • Do you understand the profound impact loosing Jerusalem would have on the Christians. Not to be able to walk in the alleged footsteps of Christ. They've only have that luxury for roughly six decades. Prior to that the last time Christians could freely walk without fear in that region was before the crusaders were driven out of the holy lands in the late 13th century. Surely you don't think Christian Americans don't have concerns about who control this region.

  • Their fight is not a question of real estate, monetary value or space to build houses but the holy value of the land. All three religions have a stake in holding control of this region. Christians and Jews share a common interest. Muslims are outsiders to both of these religions but Mohamed's preachings, prophecies, religious battle conquests and ascension to heaven all takes place in this same region.

  • Both the Dome of the Rock and the Last standing wall of the Temple of Solomon stand in the same place. Jesus preached and died there. So you tell me what the fight is about if not for control of these sacred places. They're not fighting over space to open a night club.

  • Again I say... "I" attach nothing to nothing. A fact is a fact. Are you trying to say you are unaware of these irrefutable facts. Have you never asked why and then researched the issue. Did you blindly think this was all a political issue? Most Christians I talk to at least know these facts. Though I'm not saying you should... leaders are pretty good at misleading and casting veils over truth.

  • But yet... in recent years you see modified equipment that we continue to this day to supply Israel. Those are the facts. That is the true undeniable history of this truly "Holy" war Mr. Bush continues to have us in. A war his "God" has told him we must fight. If you looked up the history instead of just looking at your Bible or listening to misleading statements from our Christian leaders it would be oh so very clear to you how much religion caused this problem.

  • I think the actual causes of these wars are because of human flaws driven by religious propaganda, not religions themselves. Human greed forces humans as a group to do stupid things, in doing so they misconstrue what they read in their religious texts to justify those actions... once they can justify it with God's words (though not consistent with his words), it is the most empowering and convincing propaganda they can have for war. Also, the music was absolutely appalling.

  • I agree with you that religion generally doesn't start wars, I disagree with the claim that it has nothing to do with it. I think that the solid rule used to gain support in conflict is to pander to the most common belief system.

  • My point was that, there being countless divisions of christianity, it is impossible to say, with any certainty, that the religious were not pandered to to gain support for either or both sides in the civil war.

  • Domain, and thanks, I forgot about that. Chances are, yes they did, but there are so many divisions of christianity, religion very well may have played a part.

  • Well, for one thing, religion played a major part in justifying slavery for the south. Who was the north to have the right to question their interpretation of the bible?

having the same religion means nothing in a world where people can argue over interpretations of texts.

  • good point

  • Hmm, do you know of any secular abolitionists?

  • War starts through domain (over land, money, or belief), and is perpetuated by means of ideology, most commonly religion, and always political.

Think about it, the easiest way to gain support is by pandering to the largest theist population. All you have to tell them is "god is on our side". The bulk of world conflict gains support through religion. If you know of any completely secular war, let me know, I'd like to read about it. And yes, people are idiots.

  • Ok, do you know of any "completely secular" government. I find it really odd that you seem to believe that the all ideologies are "religions" we certainly have had destructive ideologies that denied the existence of any God. In fact, I would say removing religious institutions seems to be a first step in some of the most destructive ideologies in history. Religious institutions like the monks in Burma frequently provide a check on government power.

  • Dear People,

Today I road across a small bridge and found a bible fallen onto the street with pages flapping, our mind set in all the world is a sham, religion is war, money is the root of all evil, and we still imagine how it will change! there is only one way I beleive this all will change is to abandone all religions and beleive what John Lennon lived!

  • Well done...

    Katalyzt

  • thank you very much.

  • Jesus is real. The Holy Spirit is real. The Father is real. And there is a God. And He's the Christian God. And He so loved the world the gave His onw begotten Son so that man may have a chance to go to heaven. It seems like Jesus died for nothing in your part. Have fun in hell. You'll be missed. insightsofgod . com

  • and what do you base these allegations on?

I would suggest that you do some reading, but I seriously doubt you will. Maybe think about what you believe, and how it is used, by man, to control you.

like the video says, "question your faith". Inform yourself. Do some research, and then do some research on your research. Because it is the blind, like you drxclassic, that will end us all.

  • I've done PLENTY of reading. As a matter of fact I'm doing research right now. I just took a little break and went to youtube. pacinst(.)com/efh/chapter2/satan.html

That's the website that I'm on right now.

  • Reading biased propaganda has never educated anyone.

Expand your source material. Go to the library. Read beyond the confines of your religion.

This is what is called "critical thinking".

    It's a liberating experience.

  • yes I've done plenty and I'm still on the conclusion that there is a God. But there was this one time that I doubted that Jesus was my Savior from my studies of Islam and and other Christian heretic tenets.

  • And a question. How does religion end us all? Religion has been here for form even ancient times so I just want to know how it will end us? If we have had religion for thousands of years.

  • Trading one religion's bias for another isn't what I meant.

and since you like internet "research" so much, I'll send you a link.

but don't stop there, look it up.

  • Yeah I'm looking at it as we speak. That's really interesting I'll say. I like it how religions and myths rebol around the sun. And a lot of native american religions revole around the son and the moon to and also on spiders. It's really cool. You should read The Mythology of Native North America by David Adams Leeming. It's a real cool book.

  • I'll check it out, thanks.

  • see I don't only like internet research I also like digging deep and hard through books. As a matter of fact I want to buy three books that are not on any state public library here in Rhose Island. The titles are The Mayan Code: Time Acceleration and Awakening the World Mind by Barbara Hand Clow , Strangest of All by Frank Edwards and June 6, 2006 6.6.6: Antichrist Revealed by Harry Walthe.

  • Good deal, keep it up.

Little tip though, always find counter point, critical thinking is a never ending process.

  • Look, why dont you try to give me a real reason why i should believe in god? or why dont you give me a "proof" that he would exist? And wtf have fun in hell...? lol if hell would exist i guess it would be a better place than heaven. Kurt Cobain and John Lennon would be in hell xD

  • OK. I'll try what I think is a reasonable arguement for God. For every action that occurs there is a cause and for every cause there is another cause. Energy is transfered from one thing to another and there is a causal chain which is the chain of causes for the actions etc. When we get to the beginning of this chain there is a Prime Mover. Is this 'Prime Mover' God?

  • this argument begs the question, is there a beginning? is there a "prime mover"? it's a matter of faith. for all we know, existence has always been and always will be. cause and effect, very well, may be eternal, but no one can prove it either way, because we are not, and have no current means of testing eternity. besides, personally I've seen nothing to prove this "prime mover" is anything more than mindless indifference.

  • oh, and amidst all of this pointless debate, I forgot to mention, CobainFrusciante, good job on the video, I like it.

  • Ahah ty lol :D i almost forgot what was whis all about :p

  • Security police measures against 'agitator priests' in 1941;

    "1) Warning

    2) Fine

    3) Forbidden to preach (Redeverbot)

    4) Forbidden to remain in the parish

    5) Forbidden all activities as a priest

    6) Short term arrest

    7) Protective custody"

  • you're still not proving your point. what you keep at is that he didn't like the church, which isn't suprising, since they would detract from his social control, not that he was an atheist or non-believer in any way. And all of your ranting has built more of a case for my standpoint, lending itself to the title "The Impact of Religion on Society". Are you getting this yet?

  • No your point is meagre and quite irrelevant. The video seems to be claiming that religion has had a negative impact on society. I think that hindering Hitler and the Nazi Party was probably a very positive contribution which the Church made.

  • he and his band of merry men killed 6 million jews, I don't think they did a very good job. and research the roman catholic church's roll with hitler in Croatia

and jdvhal, resorting to insult again, it's still pathetic.

  • ok, so here's my last question (seeing as I've made my point, with your help, thank you, and I'm bored with this). If my "point is meagre and quite irrelevant", then what is your point in continuing on with your little tirade? the simple truth is, Hitler invoking any sort of theist rhetoric in any speech to rally support for his cause would also be classified as "The Impact Of Religion On Society", rendering any and all quotes you may produce, completely useless.

  • face it, this is long over, but thanks for the laugh.

  • Read up on how the catholic church helped former SS escape after the war was over... fascinating stuff.

The chruch even helped the notorious Josef Mengele escape...

  • Such a person is far from real belief in God and from a conception of life that corresponds with such a belief. Only superficial spirits can fall victim to the false doctrine of a national God, or a national religion."

  • Papal ENCYCLICAL, 'With Burning Grief' by the Pope in 1937;

"He who singles out race...(and) the bearersof state power...and sets them up as the highest norm above all, including religious values, and reverences them with adolatry, he distorts and falsifies the God-created, God-demanded order of things.

  • cnic you are indeed American. Pope Pius wanted peace with Germany

    1) Because he thought he could influence the Nazi party

    2) Because the Racist bature of the Nazi Party wasn't clear at the start

I have actually studied this at school. I suggest you do some proper studying before you try and defeat me in this field (watching Indiana Jones and then typing Hitler into wikipedia does not count)

  • indeed, jdvhal, I am.

the last effort of one with a weak argument is, in fact, insult. I think that's pretty pathetic.

you've produced no evidence toward your original claim, which at this point, I doubt you remember,(please refer to your first comment). you produce only quotes from a book (known here as "The Voice of Destruction", by Hermann Rauschning) which was shown to be a plagiaristic propagandist fraud by Wolfgang Haenel in 1983. look it up.

  • like I've stated multiple times now, hitler's belief is not the point. Whether he hated the church or christians, or was a theist himself (which he was, of his own brand), on both counts, earn him a spot in this video. It isn't an argument between christian and atheist, like you've tried to make it. Read the title and description again.

  • well that is one hell of a debate lol :p but i agree with u on this cnic.

  • thanks, it breaks down to another christian seeing a weak opportunity to spread anti-nonchristian propaganda. propaganda begets propaganda, and is never a good thing.

  • OK - those quotes:

    1934 Hitler Youth song;

"No evil priest can prevent us from feeling

that we are the Children of Hitler.

We follow not Christ, but Horst Wessel.

Away with the incense and holy water!

The Church can go hang on for all we care,

The swastika brings salvation on earth.

I want to follow it step by step.

  • "(As in Italy I will make) peace with the Church. Why not! It won't stop me eradictating Christianity from Germany root and branch. You are either Christian or German. You can't be both."

Hitler in a private conversationin 1933: quoted in 'Hitler Speaks' by Hermann Rauschning

  • I believe today that I am acting in the sense of the Almighty Creator. By warding off the Jews I am fighting for the Lord's work. [Adolph Hitler, Speech, Reichstag, 1936]

  • I've already provided sufficient quotes etc... "The two worst things to hit the western world are Christianity and Bolshevism, both came from Jews" He suppressed the Church. The Catholic Church condemned his racism in 'Mit Brennender Sorge'. "(As in Italy I will make) peace with the Church. Why not! It won't stop me eradictating Christianity from Germany root and branch. You are either Christian or German. You can't be both." What the hell is that supposed to mean?!

  • Secular schools can never be tolerated because such schools have no religious instruction, and a general moral instruction without a religious foundation is built on air; consequently, all character training and religion must be derived from faith . . . we need believing people. [Adolf Hitler, April 26, 1933, from a speech made during negotiations leading to the Nazi-Vatican Concordant of 1933]

  • All of your quotes come from speeches when he is talking to religious people, the other quotes are from private conversations.

  • I don't see why you have Nazis bearing in mind Hitler was an atheist.

  • Regardless of belief, Hitler had the backing of the roman catholic church. What does that tell you?

Comparing an average atheist to Hitler is like comparing you and him because you both like orange juice.

  • I didn't compare Hitler to any atheist. All I said was that I don't see why he is featured in a video that claims that we should get rid of religion. If anything his life would suggest that the world would be a worse place without religion.

  • personally, I can't see any non religious reason to kill any jewish person, let alone, Hitler's goal of all of them.

He's not as out of place in this video as you think.

  • Well Judaism is a race not religion. As Hilter was an Atheist he should not be in the video.

  • Hitler claimed to be christian, why do you say he was an atheist ?

  • Because I have studied the period for A-level and from what he said there is no doubt he was an atheist. 'The two worst ideas to hit the western world are Christianity and Communism. Both came from Jews.' He had Hitler Youth songs which talked of rebelling against Church etc... He also suppressed the German Churches, see: Karl Barth, Dietrich Bonhoffer and 'The Confessional Church'.

  • I've never heard of a "race" that one can convert too.

do you think I could convert to become an Aborigine?

Hitler's belief in this case isn't the point, the fact that he had the support of the church is. And I can't see any non religious reason to kill a member of any race...

remember, aryan nation is a (hate from) religion based organization.

  • You can't convert to Judaism in any valid way. I think you need to remeber that Hitler could not afford to go head to head with the Church so he tried to be subtle (hence all the quotes in speeches). He did not have the support of the Church. Look up the Confessional Church. If you want I'll put some more quotes up to support this. I am right.

  • "in any valid way", that has to be the stupidest thing you've said so far.

Hitler's belief is not important in this arguement. Hitler used the roman catholic church for all he could get out of them, and gained there support, verified in pictures and speeches, not unverified "private conversation", from Hermann Rauschning, (kicked out of the nazi party).

and lastly, just because you say you're right, doesn't make it true.

let's go for some quotes, I want to see how deep you can dig your hole.

  • Did you look up the Confessional Church? It was the Theologian Bonhoffer who helped make the first valid attempt on Hitlers life. Hitler Youth songs were against the Church. Look up 'Mit Brennender Sorge' in which the Catholic criticised Hitlers racism. Thanks it's been wonderful to educate you but I really have won this one.

  • like I said, just because you say it doesn't make it true. you've offered one quote, which was proven by Wolfgang Haenel to be a work of propaganda. I haven't denied that hitler was anti-christianity, but he was by no means an atheist. he decalared nazism as the state RELIGION, the Confessional Church has nothing to do with your point. he still pandered to the roman catholic church, and had their support on more than one occasion, even rewarding them.
