  • Brilliant!

  • LMFAO!!!!

  • Ow Darn...I live in Holland and while watching this movie they put an advertisement for the Dutch Evangelical t.v. broadcasting-station in it!

Why won't the theocratical encroahment stop?????

  • Truly BRILLIANT!!!!!

Thank you so very, very much!

  • Lol this is basically the conversation between a Christian and an atheist. Nice.

  • Ok, maybe it's just me, but his gestures ( Mr. D) reminded me of Steve Carell the entire time I was watching this. It seems that he was a huge influence in the brand of comedy, at least for this episode. I just discovered this series yesterday and I am watching all of them. Great stuff! Lucy should have retorted with, "and satisfaction brough it back though," when he asked what killed the cat. You have a new fan!

  • @thelordmemnoch I suspect Mr. Carell and I are influenced by many of the same people, Hope, Allen, Newhart, Carlin, etc... I like Steve Carell -- a lot, but I haven't actually seen enough of him to be ripping him off. I absolutely ripoff Hope, Woody, and Bob Newhart -- they're my top three.

  • @misterdeity Hey, I said "huge influence," not to be confused with ripping off! Ha ha.

  • I love all of these but the Lucy ones are extra special.

  • The God Delusion! Nice!

  • This is my kids' second favorite episode. In some episodes, the references to ancient scripture and the exposure of religious illogic (that I appreciate so much) goes right over their heads. But when Mr. Deity gets really silly (e.g., fingers in ears, clapping the light off), they love it.

  • Lucy missed the second half of the "curiosity killed the cat" aphorism..."satisfaction brought him back".

  • this is still my favorite episode

  • "You know I'm not one to cause trouble"

    "Yeah tell that to Job."

    ROTFLMAO!

  • Gee bella50008 - look up parody, BTW rich2rock, of course he MEANT to offend, that's the pupose of the skits.

  • Oh ya, Lucy is f-ing hottt!

  • @rich2rock um funny story, Lucy=Amy=Christian=Brian's wife. Mr.D=Brian=Atheist=Amy's husband. So what what you say about Lucy or you might upset Mr D. and we all know how emotional he is.

  • @hotmercedes So he's got a hot wife. He should take that as very high compliment if anything. And so should Lucy. I didn't say anything intending to offend anyone. That's what happens when you got a hottt wife, people notice her. Mr. Deity is awesome too. And no wonder he got this catch of a woman.

  • @rich2rock I know you did not mean to offend. I thought it was funny when he told me she was a christian, and plays the devil, while he is atheist and plays god.

  • Lucy is hot

  • I think I have a crush on Lucifer now.

  • @ you don't know how familiar this conversation is...... specifically the word magic.Something like this happened when my room-mate entered my room, I cant remember what he said exactly but i know it ended in "don't you think its all magical ? i think its beautiful, wonderful but not magical ....then i get hit with a torrent of questions about how y or x came about.

  • Imagine these two running Job into the ground over a bet. XD

  • Lucy is reading The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins. How cool is that?

  • I've been listening to this all day while working but when Amy comes on, I have to switch over and watch her! Way beautiful and her expressions make the lines extra funny! Thanks so much for these incredible videos - much funnier than most anything on TV.

  • Mr Deity acting like believers made my day. The show is godly

  • Apathy killed the cat.

  • Too bad Augustine locked his formidable intellect in a little box and wasted it on imaginary constructs; without religion he might have advanced science instead. (On the other hand, Isaac Newton was a religious fanatic. People are strange.)

  • "Mr. Diety"? Is he a guy who's always trying to lose weight? (Misspelling never helps an argument. Reminds me of the people who ask me why I'm an "athiest".)

Note that it would be literally, theoretically impossible -- no matter how much computing power he had available -- for Schrodinger to predict whether or not the particle had decayed and caused the death of the hapless cat. So, he'd have to give in to his curiosity and open the box.

  • "Curiosity killed the cat; Satisfaction brought it back"

  • This epidsode is stupid.

  • I love the fact that the add next to this video is a christian add hahaha

and even that it is quite a strange message...

    "Post a prayer request"

    "THOUSAND WILL PRAY FOR YOU!"

    Hahahaha

  • Oh My Go-- um yeah... This is freaking HILARIOUS!

  • Hahah brilliant! try get a show in Australian networks!!! you know we got an atheist Prime Minister AND faith schools! how can you go wrong?

  • This depiction of god is so AWESOME "Well you're a meanie!" haha, if there is a god he is totally like this, makes so much sense

  • I knew Lucy (Fier) was the person to put in charge.......

  • Yeah, tell that to Job.

  • His mannerisms remind me of Steve Carell,

  • @BANGBANGBANGBBANG Finally! Someone had the courage to say it. Thanks.

  • @BANGBANGBANGBBANG seriosuly? this is awsome. one of the best things on youtube.

  • @BANGBANGBANGBBANG if you don't like this show, that means you didn't like Seinfeld; and if you didn't like Seinfeld, that means you routinely masturbate with knotted-rope.

  • Comment removed

  • @BANGBANGBANGBBANG YEAH!! the likes and dislikes obviously say the same things! arghhh .. haha

  • @BANGBANGBANGBBANG Then don't watch it... I watched long enough to reply with this then closed it...

  • She is SUCH a MILF :D Hell yeah :D

  • This is absolutely brilliant...

  • "... Yeah, tell that to Job..." classic!

  • I'm listening! Ignorance....'n stuff!

  • now we know what jesse did at the company talent show i wonder what larry did.

  • I think the casting for these skits is truly awesome, but my favorite scenario is when Mr. Deity says something totally sexist or when he comes off as unbearably incompetent and the look on Lucy's face just says it all. Her facial expressions along with the highly risible dialog can keep me cachinnating all night long.

  • @thirteendays13 I cachinnated all night long once. But it made me urinate funny the next morning -- great difficulty controlling my aim. Be careful.

  • Regarding killing the cat: I'm pretty sure that was Schroedinger.

  • @AtheistinFundyLand Yes. And even the proverbial cat was in both states at once.

  • ".... sweeite, what killed the cat?" "{gasp} whiskers is dead?" LMFAO! I cry everytime I hear that line.

  • I like how Lucy was reading "the God Delusion" at the start of this video.

  • @newkarmazach lol

  • I think Mr. Diety is a little light in the loafers.

  • @bella50008 I used to be. But I started sunbathing in the nude, so now I'm much darker.

  • @bella50008 Your bigotry is showing.

  • lucy's a milf....:)

  • Boo-yah! That was soooo awesome!

  • Mr Deity is not the only one that can do real magic. I recalled some Egyptians creating snakes from their walking sticks or something. However, Mr. Deitie’s dick was bigger and it ate those snakes in no time…

  • this is hilarious, mainly because the majority of the episodes are based on staw man arguments towards christianity.

  • @dannytheshort Yes, all staw [sic] man arguments. That's what's funny.

  • @misterdeity lol lucy sounds like us atheist and Mr. Deity sounds like the average christain

  • I'd have to strongly disagree.

These vids are actually based on "Reductio ad absurdum" arguments against religion

They point out the absurdity of scriptural assertions & theistic claims when exposed to critical analysis & when compared to newly-acquired knowledge due to secular progress

In laymen's terms, they poke fun at how moronic religious truth claims are & how bat-shit crazy & retarded religious logic is

And they appeal to our baser urge to laugh at the expense of dumb people!

  • LOL Lucy is reading the God Delusion.

  • Its funny how the magic they are talking about is exactly what God is.

  • @Hektor7788

I think thats the point :P

  • Lucy is super HOT!!!

  • Oh no! not Whiskers!

  • all is magic

  • Is Lucy supposed to be the Devil. Is "Lucy" a play on "Lucifer"?

  • @Starbat88 Bingo! Look up Mr. Deity and Lucifer to watch her introductory episode.

  • @Starbat88 yes

  • @Starbat88 yes

  • how can someone as old as the guy who plays Mr Deity be whiney?

  • @TherealMrChristophel It's not hard at all. You'll see.

  • ...what's a fermament?

  • @TherealMrChristophel It's just the sky/heavens. They used to think that the Earth was encased in a revolving glass-like sphere. They weren't very advanced back in the day.

  • @misterdeity Don't forget the windows (though they acted more like valves).

  • @misterdeity i figured

  • MEH, I'LL SUB

  • I loved the Dawkins book...

  • hahahaha......shez readin 'the god delusion' by dawkins.....awesome

  • "Penn works for me."

    Hahahahahaha!

  • Magic.

  • Penn, and the Jillette guy?

    That's his last name.

  • @RaiohTheHunter I know that. You know that. Mr. Deity doesn't know that. He's not too bright.

  • @misterdeity ....touche good sir.

  • I'm a Lucy-ferian!

  • "Ignorance is Bliss, that's why I made kids dum as rocks" LOL!!!

  • i am in love with lucy- does that mean i'm a lesbian? Oh no wait - i am also in love with mr. deity. Does that make me a deist? or what? - confused

  • But... but Miracles are real! Even ICP says so!

  • wtb dvd set lol.

  • Mr. Deity has lost some weight... looking good bro. Keep up the awesome videos!

  • I love her reading the god delusion !

    10 stars (if I could)

  • Lucy is reading Richard Dawkin's?

  • Yeah, this is a great show. The whole series is good. They could make these full 30 minute shows easily. Great writers and they're better than most actors on prime time lately. And, you'll actually learn something to boot! Genius.

  • P.S.

    I love Lucy(fer)

  • Does that incude Sunday school? Hahahahaahaha

  • Cute. And gay. :)

  • LoL!

  • Tell that to Job... hehe

  • cool vid.

  • Really not fair how beautiful Lucy is" She's gonna get a lot of people in hell he he!

  • Lucy is Lucifer...ya know...the Devil.

    Duhhh

  • Is that your wife? Wow, she is absolutely stunning, and hilarious! Lucky bugger :)

  • This is awesome, god is an idiot and want's to stay that way because it makes him happy. I've run into so many religious people that are just like this.

Lucy is beautiful, my wife and are are both jealous of you.

  • Mr. Deity is very hetero-normative. Just an observation, not that there's anything wrong with it.

  • Who is supposed to be Lucy? dont get it...

  • Lucy is Lucyfer (Lucifer). Watch Season One's "Mr. Deity and Lucifer" to get a proper introduction.

  • haha awesome! Magic and trick skit is genius! gillette guy haha funny! Lucy should wear red all the time to represent the devil thing..she's soo hottt! Does that include sunday school? hahah awesome!

  • Right on! Luci is reading Richard Dawkins. LOL

  • The Jehova's I Never Saw Nuffin'!

  • "You have to LEARN your aphorisms, IGNORANCE is BLISS"

    lol, irony

  • That's one hell of a milf right there..

  • "whiskers is dead?"

  • That was incredibly boring and not funny to me at all. Why was this recommended from a Mitchell and Webb look clip? Mitchell and Webb is actually funny this just isn't at all xD

  • I know! Same thing happened to me and everyone just randomly assumed I was some teenaged cretine who didn't understand it! I understand it perfectly and find it unfunny.

  • Same, It's not that I don't understand it because I understand it 100% but I found myself waiting for a punchline or even remotely witty line that never came.

  • Stupid argument is stupid, y'all need to worry less about stuff people say on the internet.

I liked the video, mainly because of the message but I feel that maybe you pushed the metaphor more than necessary but no biggie.

  • I think you'd like "Small Gods". It does much the same thing as is done here.

  • Good call, but I've already read it.

  • I love Terry Pratchett!

  • Before I pre-judged you, I decided go to your channel instead. So I speak from experience. You are boring. I totally agree with Chucky. You suck and blow at the same time.

  • Or, perhaps you just don't have the intelligence to appreciate this show(?). If I didn't care for a show which is so universally loved that every episode has five stars, I would assume that either maybe I don't get it, or that it's simply not my taste. But I would never tell the creator of the show that they "blow and suck." And, if I did, I would be far more clever about it so as not to embarrass myself further. Best wishes, B

  • BORRRRRRRRING!

  • @TherealMrChristophel Boring people are easily bored.

  • Comment removed

  • You know, most British people are very respectful, polite, and have a wonderful sense of humor. Sadly, a few, like you, are arrogant prigs with a cricket bat stuck up your ass. I went to your channel. I'm not easily bored....but wow...that was boring. Mr. Deity is one of the most clever parodies of religion to come along since "The Life of Brian." Oh yes...THOSE Brits were funny....you're not.

  • The reason I'm not being polite to you because you were being randomly mean to me first. If you approced me as a normal person we could've had a decent talk and maybe you could've even swung me round to your point of view. But now that you insulted me so pointlessly that is now impossible. Good Day, Sir! (Incedentally, this is ment to be a comedy, right?)

  • If you think this is boring, search for "A Hello From Mr. Christophel," or "Who Can't Kick Edward Cullen's Ass?"

  • My apologies - I was referring to TherealMrChristophel and the two vids you speak of. Replies to replies don't seem to work here, I see. Perhaps "suck" and "blow" were too harsh or unimaginative, but I have a cold. Misterdeity, these videos of yours are sublime. The five star rating system is inadequate. And regardless as I said before, Luci is hot.

  • Well, then... as Rosanna Rosanna Danna would say, "Never mind." And thanks!

  • Heh. np.

    I miss Gilda.

  • Me too! She was one of my all-time favorite women.

  • @ Mister Deity .... LOL@ the Rosann Rosanna Danna reference.... a fellow boomer!

  • I'm sorry but that is fair in any way. You have a company of actors and I am one guy working with MS paint who only has experience with audio and even then I don't have the software to do anything with that. You have the experience, actors, and writers to make a great series. As it stands it's just a bland Mitchell and Webb wannabe.

  • Well, for your information. I'm just one guy who put together this company of actors. I had nothing when I started making movies, and we still have no crew or staff whatsoever. I'm writing it, directing it, doing the music, editing the show, acting, producing, lighting, shooting, etc... (unlike Mitchell and Webb, of whom I've recently recently become familiar and really enjoy). Sorry you don't like the show, but don't be misinformed. Aside from the acting, I do this entirely on my own.

  • well, sorry, but it's just not my cup of tea. Let that be an end to it.

  • Maybe they don't have this saying in England, but here, we say, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything." I would not have opened up on you if you had not made that very rude "boring" comment about Mr. Deity. EVERY atheist I know, in real life and online loves this series. Now, we've reached an end, Sir.

  • That's not the point. If Joe Public sees a bad movie and loudly trumpets that fact to everyone he knows the flim makers don't make excuses do they? No they make another better film. To the unwashed masses if it's rubbish(in their opinion, of coarse) it doesn't matter if they could never do anything like that. It's basic marketing.

  • @TherealMrChristophel right, but 987 ratings on this episode alone give it 5 stars average. So, by your own logic, the filmmaker should continue to make the show exactly like this and ignore your comment. If the comment masses are knocking your comment, maybe it is your comment that is "rubbish."

  • First of all, you're entitled to your opinion, but my opinion is that there was nothing to improve here. You're very young. I'm guessing you thought it was boring because there's much you haven't learned yet, both in the way of formal education and in life experience. Some things are funny to older folks because we "get it" because we experienced it; you have yet to have a reserve of life experience under your belt.

  • n o I found it boring because for the first 20 seconds it does nothing but talk abotu some guy I don't know waxing some car...thing. They're ment to use that time to draw people in.

  • @TherealMrChristophel - it draws in people who understand it. Larry is a main character in this ongoing sketch/skit/show/thing. The firmament is a biblical concept - a layer of water over the earth or some such (don't quote me on it's meaning, but that's where it comes from). It's hilarious to us former xtians who've watched the show before.

  • Secondly, putting down a commercially made film to your friends is different from the slap on the face you gave to "Mr. Deity" who reads these comments personally. How would you feel if someone just said "Borrrringggg" to one of your efforts? First of all, that's not even constructive criticism, it's just an insutt.. Tell us what was wrong with it...we're all waiting.

  • no I see a boring film I will say it's boring. If a person says one of my films is boring I ....don't care actually....And I have said what's wrong with it. It's Boring. The script is bland, there's no promise of humor later in the video and it's just too white and upper middle class, and I couldn't get any whiter without employing tippex and Ilisten to Radio 4 which is about as white and middle class as you can get.

  • @TherealMrChristophel - i think perhaps the word you're looking for is cerebral - this show appeals to the intellect of those who watch it and have some understanding of fundamental Christianity and it's fantastic ridiculousness.

  • Oh so then maybe it's more of a cultural devide because Stephen Fry and The Now Show do much the same thing I am a great patron of both. Also a book by Richard Dawkins? The Evangelical Atheist? The Jehovas' I Never Saw Nuffin'?

  • I do understand fundamental Christianity. I understand that at the heart of it it's just another Middle Eastern thunder god who got lucky. I understand the if there is a kind benevolent being up there who cares for all of us then why did he allow Little Timmy to be run over by a combine harvester and then scrape by another 18 years of angonising, vegative life. I understand it and find this unfunny. Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaimen was a much more satiricle look on religion.

  • "Small Gods" did that better.

  • i understand it perfectly. I just don't like it.

  • C'mon, you care -- you're just rationalizing. Your criticisms are frankly boring, with no specifics. Bland and boring are generalizations.

What's with the class crap? This has nada to do with it. Are you saying you want the dialogue in rap? ROFL

  • I hate rap. And no specifics?! THE JOKES ARE UNFUNNY, THAT'S IT! WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT?!

  • I want you to admit that this is just your opinion...you state it as if it were fact. Saying something is unfunny is pretty vague, not really specific. I just think you're a bored teenager who lashes out because you don't get something. This is all I'm dealing with on this. Bye.

  • Ah yes but I can easily say that it's just your opinion that it's good.

  • @misterdeity ...and you make a hell of a show! (sorry, had to say it... silly, I know...)

If you do it all by yourself, you've got my admiration. Keep up the good work!

Question: why do you always eat bananas?

  • @Brigitte727 I don't do it all. There are other actors, and good adlibs, etc... But I do write, direct, edit, light, shoot, and compose the music. Thanks for the kind words. As for the bananas, look up The Atheist's nightmare, and Ray Comfort.

  • @misterdeity Oh, that! Yes, I remember that video... I've looked it up again, laughed so hard as I did the first time I watched it... bananas are kind of a nightmare, I admit, but only because they're hard to digest!

I found your show thanks to an atheist forum in which we post atheist humor, your episode 'Mr. Deity and the Really Big Favor' is my favorite

  • Perhaps you should visit the Mr. Deity site and read about it or watch some of the first episodes before you sling around absurdities. What you have done by trying to knock Brian's show is to actually slander your own. And your shows are much, much less entertaining than the Mr. Deity series.

Mitchell and Webb is clever, but very different from Mr. Deity, and would better be compared to other sketch comedy shows like Upright Citizens Brigade.

  • That was directed @TherealMrChristophel, btw

  • I do think I have mentioned something about me being one guy with MS paint and no money, because this oviously has a buget. This is in no sence of the word bad, it's just very steril and bland and to be honest my vision was slightly squewed because at first I thought that this was a Mitchell and Webb sketch.

  • I think you think it's sterile and bland because you don't understand the underlying issues. Go and live about two more decades, than come back and argue.

  • If I can understand Stephan Fry's podcast on language then I can understand this. I was only able to watch the first 45 seconds without having to mainline some heroin into me to stop my from exploading. How can I misunderstand the underlying issuses if I have decided I's boring within the first 45 seconds and stopped right there. And I'm not some little teenaged loser.

  • Incedentally your name is worng. It acutally 616,there was a mis-translation.

  • I'm aware of that. I chose 666 because I had to add some numbers and I knew it would piss some fundies off :-)

  • So you watch QI?

  • MILf lol.... anyway past the imature things :P... this video is so clever its great faved +5 :P

  • This is great!

    And so freaking true!

  • Great video.

  • Mr Deity... Explain that puzzling William Lane Craig for us will ya? You know the guy? The Emperor of the delusional; the King of the "insert miracle here" clan. Why did you make him this way anyways ? He's just plain annoying ain't he? And don't you just want to smack'im on the back of the head? Can't wait to see your reasoning behind THAT creation!

  • penn works for me? i knew it! =D
