@jfl125 nope, gunpowder was imported from China. it's just guns would be lit with a match, and usually had to be held in a stick because they were so heavy and had a lot of recoil. not very sophisticated.

But disk space doesn't affect your computer speed so uninstalling programs won't help much. You should try degramenting your disk and turn off any unnecessary startups.

Least favorite Total War era. I like the nuances of the single player Grand Campaign, what with the Kingdoms expansions and all, but the battles are slow moving slugfests which last FOREVER. All the units seem to move in slow-motion.

Aventuros are also some of the best units in the game. I did a campaign with Portugal a few years ago on M2, and Aventuros pretty much won everything for me. Even in battles where I lost, they were always the last units to flee.

Prince. I'm Portuguese and i know you won't do requests so think of this as a suggestion. Try to reinact the Battle of Aljubarrota. The Portuguese with an army of 5 thousand won against a Castillan army of 30,000. Check it out.

@98boomkoom In your opinion maybe. But its not a fact. In my opinion Rome is better in terms of gameplay and community (mods, multiplayer, etc) and the campaign is more action based. Where as the Medieval 2 campaign focuses more on interacting with other factions although you will still have to take them all down in the end if you want world dominance but you need allies on the higher difficulties. Medieval also has better graphics, but no one should judge a game by graphics.

@FUNEMOKILLER The Gold version contains both the normal game + the expansion (Kingdoms). If you only buy Kingdoms you won't be able to play at all! So you should buy the Gold version. And yes, online multiplayer is free in all Total War games.

I've been playing medieval 2 total war for three years now, and I can say with assurance that the best faction is portugal, and the second best is spain.

portugal and spain both have superb infantry, excellent gun powder units such as the mosqueteers, good pikemen, but portugal has an edge in cavalry because they have good quality cavalry with lower prices than the spanish cav.

But it's almost impossible to beat portugal in Late Period with any faction but Spain our Turks... Because any faction that has only arquebusiers our a lower technology is owned by far by the Portuguese Arquebusiers... Not to speak that the combination of: Aventuros, Portuguese D. Knights and D. Conquistadors is one of the best :)

@fifaworldcuplover Don't forget the Portugese Arquebusiers. They are unbelievably useful in the sense that they can dish out a crushing volley with the enemy advancing but can also do a decent job in melee combat unlike musketeers and regular arquebusiers.

If its a really newish/expensive computer then a Card and some added RAM would make it a computer worthy of the gods :). I think the melee fights are awsome in this game. But the missile troops are too poor and the cav sucks. They cant even beat militia units. BTW anyone who knows how to join crusades in cmpgn. Have tried a couple of times by going to the target but i don't see the other factions and i doesnt count as a crusade member.
