  • I think it would be awsome to hear a black metal cover for the songs!

  • One of my favorite Nintendo games of all time. I have always loved the soundtrack. Still play the games.

  • "I've not *seen* such bravery!"

Said by both the second game's narrator and the guy who observed a bus boy opening the door to the free buffet built across the street from the Weight Watchers building.

  • THE TUSSIN, THE TUSSIN!

  • Comment removed

  • some of those arpeggios are more like paganini. No, not the Zonda manufacturer lol....

  • So... Its like N, but top-down and with weapons... right?

  • I still have Gauntlet: Dark legacy for the ps2. :) i feel blessed.

  • Thumbs up if you're here because of Gauntlet from HoN!

  • RED WARRIOR SHOT THE FOOD!!!!!!!

  • excelent, but is some other theme that is not in this video!

  • I am playing the first song in my orchestra class :D

  • @favre4721

You must have the best orchestra ever, I'm jealous 0_0

  • HoN brought me here o.o

  • Tengen made some of the best unlicensed games for the NES. Active Entertainment, Sachen, Color Dreams, and Wisdom Tree (the current name of Color Dreams) just couldn't cut it.

  • Tengen! More games that shouldn't exist!

  • OH GOD I'M SOOOOOOO OOOOOOLD!!!!

  • this game gave me a head ache :(

  • no matter how much time pass this still be the best soundtrack for a video game ever.

  • i've always loved this song haha

  • who can provide mame gauntlet title music, please....it was my first arcade game i ever seen(besides...moon patrol).

  • When I was like 3 years old, I saw my father play this D:

  • lOOOOLL HON!

  • why did they have to use a faggarty nes? use a proper computer like the speccy or the c64!

  • @rainxxxx Only certain people truly understand and admire the NES. It seems you are not one of them.

  • @sora8711 neses were shit, consoles were shit compared to computers those days!

  • I smell troll, but I'll bite.

I beg to differ. Computers didn't flourish with that kind of thing until at least the early to mid 90's. Apparently you haven't seen games like Super Mario Bros. Special, which was made for the home computers. Sure they were computers, but what made the NES so special was that it was an amazing 8-bit console that revived gaming. It's not just a great console, it pretty much saved gaming.

You obviously don't know what you're talking about.

  • @SharinganLust ive had more consoles and computers than you ever had, and yes i did make those mistakes of buying consoles, lol ive seen older games than super mario bros son, consoles were a rippoff, give me a speccy 128k over a nes any old day of the week!

  • ... Super Mario Bros. SPECIAL. Not regular Super Mario Bros. Google it.

And just because you've owned those consoles/computers before doesn't justify the fact that they lead to a downfall in gaming. Like I said, the NES was revolutionary at the time because it wasn't a computer, which is why Atari, Magnavox, etc were more popular than any of that kind of shit. Hell, even the Vectrex was more popular than computer gaming. Lol.

  • @SharinganLust only before the c64/ speccy amiga era, SMBS was prolly just a nes exclusive, so what, ever see a console game collection? what a joke, sinclar spectrum was superior compared to that shitty nes with its over priced games!

  • ... No, it was a computer exclusive, actually. A shitty exclusive. Lol.

We're not talking about games, we're talking about consoles. And seeing as you have nothing to answer back with, it seems you're at a loss. And again, if computer gaming couldn't do what the NES did, that's sheer proof if anything that your computer gaming didin't revolutionize shit until Doom came along. Lol.

  • @SharinganLust dont talk shit, consoles are just empty boxes until you put a game in, nes did nothing except rip people off with their over priced crappy games, consoles are only as good as the games you have for them, learn that aspect berfore you make another post!

  • And you still have no reason to prove me wrong? That's a shame. Because it seems I'm right and you're wrong. :D

  • @SharinganLust no, you just love the nes, your in denial!

  • And I said I loved the NES? No. I did not. It doesn't take a gamer to love a console to make them a gamer. Sure, it's not MY favorite console, but without it there wouldn't be video games now a days. And if there were, they sure as hell wouldn't be popular. So I'm easily able to acknowledge it for being a great console that saved gaming.

So take that with a grain of salt and shut up unless you know anything about it.

  • @SharinganLust atari started it all, give me a c64 over a megadrive anyday, i know more than you, ive had more experience than you, i bought all my machines, bet you diddnt!

  • Atari started it, and almost ENDED it. You aren't getting that small little part. Lol. You need to pay attention.

This is about buying machines? No. It's not. You sound like a 13 year old trying to impress me. "I HAVE A GAMEBOY, A NINTENDO 64, AND OOH I HAVE A PLAYSTATION. U JELLY?" No, I'm not. I could give two fucks what consoles you have and haven't bought, because it isn't about that.

You must be trolling, because you are extremely slow in the head if you still don't understand. Lol.

  • @SharinganLust NO SUNSHINE, you seem to be in denial thinking that the nes was the machine, well IT FUCKING WASNT, IT WAS A PIECE OF SHIT compared to the computers, your a bit simple i understand, you know fuckall about gaming so i think you should just keep your mouth shut little boy, and i dont give a fuck that you dont give a fuck, just because mummy and daddy bought you a nes, you sound like a spoilt little prick!

  • ... You just called me sunshine. Lol.

Lol. You make it sound like you're proving fact by saying "THE NES IS A PIECE OF SHIT," when it factually isn't. You haven't proved me wrong. So I'll be waiting. I have nothing else to speak to you about, so until you do... well, you fail.

    Good day sir and/or madam.

  • @SharinganLust "you fail" typical chav's comeback, i far as i'm concerned, it is a piece of overpriced crap, for dumb little fanboys such as yourself, the 8 bit wars between the computers were the thing, only the real men had those!

  • You still aren't proving anything. Lol.

There is no "comebacks." I'm stating fact and you're spouting your opinion, which I could give two fucks about. Lol. So goodbye, unless you have anything else factual to input.

  • @SharinganLust your not stating a fact, your just stating that your a fanboy, so you could give 2 fucks could you?

  • I'm stating that I'm a fanboy? I'm pretty sure I'm stating a fact when I say "The NES saved gaming." Or at least that's what every single resource I'm looking at is saying.

    So yeah. Goodbye now. :D

  • @SharinganLust lmao where the hell did you hear that? must of come out of one of your xmas crackers, send me a link to one of these "resources" its good job i wasnt drinking my coffee when i read that garbled nonsense!

  • Did I hear that? It's a known fact. rofl.

Besides, I would if I could send you a PM, but "Your channel is unavailable." So you might wanna fix that. You can't post links in comments, either. /:

  • Or I could copy and paste. Here we go.

Nintendo's 8-bit video game console, the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), known as the Nintendo Family Computer (任天堂ファミリーコンピュータ), or Famicom (ファミコン) in Japan, was introduced after the video game crash of 1983, and was instrumental in revitalizing the industry. It enjoyed a long lifespan and dominated the market during the rest of the decade.

  • @SharinganLust ok, i'll eat my burger first before i go there, i dont want to choke to death pissing myself laughing!

  • Piss away. If you want more information, you should type in "Video Game Crash of 1983," pretty interesting shtuff.

  • @SharinganLust that was atari's era!

  • By the way, I've never owned an NES in my life. My parents did.

    :3

  • @SharinganLust we owned pong!

  • COOOOOOOOOOOL, Thumbs Up (Y)

    Check out mine: /watch?v=bq8qsQfW8zI

  • @Noke0 maybe you can find a .nsf player that makes MP3's or something

  • I love this game it is a Classic!!!!!!!!!!

  • why do I not remember the song from 1:23? I seem to remember a different song from Gauntlet on the NES. Never heard this one before.

  • @Zazabar sorry for my english, but this beautiful song was the song of one or two places (phases) of the game...

  • @Zazabar It's the Clue Room music. It plays in rooms such as the one that starts at 2:35.

  • anyone who's played Legends or Dark Legacy notice a similarity in the first track and the Desecrated Temple theme?

  • MC Chris The Tussin, lyrical song ! From this beat!

  • Haha i was watching a Gauntlet video and heard this theme for about 5 seconds and knew I've heard it before, but didn't know where. Then i saw this vid and knew it was MC Chris, and then i saw your comment. Anyone know if the first song is from any other song?

    Hahahhaha great game

  • Yellow Wizard is about to DIE!

  • gauntlet was the best! me and my friends were just playing dark legacy the other day, B.A. haha, keep up the good music!

  • 0:07 to 1:22 is almost entirely harmonic and melodic sequences. O_o Vivaldi would like this! Lol.

  • That menu track is a masterpiece! I can't believe it's #218 lol

  • It's not a ranking system, just a random order of awesome soundtracks.

  • @Camwi Oh I know, but I just mean they did 217 games before this classic score! Come on! =P

  • Speed Run FTW

  • "dont enter....but we welcome you all the while"

the expression i think when i see the title screen. i miss this music and this game!

  • 0:07 to 1:22 is one of my favourite NES soundtracks ever. It's long, it's catchy, and it's very beautiful. I play it on the piano and I have it memorized. Honestly, I couldn't believe it's not on any of the top best NES music lists. If I ever wanted to make a top 100 best video game music ever, I'm DEFINITELY including that track.

  • 3:11 My fave track by far. Elf as someone said before is easily the best. I remember playing this when I was 5 and still have not beaten it lol. That's worse that Ultima for the NES on my part.

  • The tune from 2:18 to 3:10 has always been my favorite in this game.

  • It *IS* a hella sick tune, huh? I totally want to find an electric guitar "quasi-shredded" version of it...

  • THE BEST GAUNTLET EVERRRRRRRR

  • the tussin

  • the music is awesome and the Elf was the best

  • this song.. how could something so awesome be created?!

  • I never made it to the Vault. And even if I did, I would've irritated the hell out of myself with trying to figure out Morak's combination.

  • I'd only heard of this game from The Tussin but now after watching this I'll have to go pick it up for my NES because it looks beast. :P

  • Ok, I need to post again. About MC Chris's Robotussin beat. It was the music from 00:06 to 1:23.

  • That's fucking awesome. Now I have to go find that track. Thanks for the info man.

  • I've never played this game. However, I know of this music because of the Rapper MC Chris. He used this beat in his song, "The Tussin".

    This sounds so cool.

    Five star'd and fav'd.

    Thanks for posting. :D

  • Obviously the soundtrack to Wizards and Warriors is inspired by Fugue in G but I bet that it was also inspired by this.

  • Thought the same thing to myself. You could almost switch this for the W&W soundtrack and it would fit in no prolem.

  • I have this game and its hard as fuck

  • so do I. I can't get through the forest stages.

  • it's mad fun though

makes me want to pull the old nes out again
