@NorbertSkit its a pre-season exhibition race a week before the season opening daytona 500. a non points race for nothing but money and bragging rights. although teams take the opportunity to use this race to prepare for the 500 aswell.

maybe how drivers get into the event isnt the best in some peoples minds but for the time being with the automotive industry the way it is, nascar is trying to bring the manufacturers back into the sports as much as they can. its still going to be a great race with all the usual suspects, not to mention this years shootout will have 28 cars:D
