it's strange i've noticed that asians (at least chinese and japanese) speak with much deeper voice in their native tongue but when transiting into english their voices become higher pitched. anyone know why this maybe?
U can see full interview video from web shin, around 16 minutes fron the beginning,u will see him speaks english very well. This one is the end of it.Even his english is not fluently because he's the japanese but Hiro is the genius & talented person,he's not only the great actor but he can do many things: play piano, guitar, flute, sax, trumpet, mixed & mastering the music, also the singer, jazz dance, martial art, horseback riding, karate, kendo, sward fighting ect.Hiroyuki Sanada is my Great Hero!!!
He's a Japanese actor that's crossing over into American film also. 99.5% of his roles require him to speak Japanese. Yet, he's still learning English, and he's pretty damn good at it.
I know that if I had a schedule as busy as him, I would probably suck at Japanese.
Sanada-san is humble and noteworthy in his craft.
Why people think that people have to speak English fluently. He is a Japanese, of course, his English is not perfect, but he speaks two languages and a great actor in both countries.
why people always think that other people have to speak English fluently??? if he/she cant speak English fluently then he/she get bad comment!!
Okey if we can reverse... can anyone from English language country speak better any Asians or African language??? then try Thailand or Philippine or Indonesian or Arab or any other language, can you do that?? can you speak better with those language?? we can always reverse the argument alright..
I wouldn' say that he "was" a beautiful boy, Togashi1021love, since I think he "is" curently a really handsome, charming and appealing man. I discovered him in Ringu, and rediscovered him in Sunshine, Last Samurai (I hate Tom Cruise, but even son, I saw the film just to see him mastering with marcial arts), The White Countess and The legend of the Eight Samurai. Yes, he is absolutely mochiron
I only know him from Ninja in the dragon's den.I never knew that he is such a great actor in Japan.I don't even remember him in The last Samurai....I'm very delighted that i found out a little bit about his history from this site....Thanks
Sanada is a MBE! (Member of the British Empire) he earned this performing with the Royal Shakespeare Company in King Lear. you can see him struggling with his English here, but i think he pulls it off with grace. I look forward to seeing him in more films. hopefully Hollywood isn't stupid enough to force him to speak English in awkward roles like they did with Chow Yun-Fat back in the 90's during the HK Wave. Replacement Killers, anyone?
Yes, I remember Ninja Wars but I first had a major crush on him when I watched Ninja in the Dragon's Den. So expressive eyes! He really is a good actor. Actually he's very charming, almost like a lost little boy, when he struggles with his English. Makes me want to just hug him :-) More videos of Sanada-san please!!
I'm from Portugal and yeah, we wear rings all over the place man... we should rename the country like Ringland or something ehehehe kiddin'... love the film & the actor... i even cried buaahaha
Yes farrapo,we have big influence by Portugal culture. I guess it's because Portugee came to Japan long time ago and some of them stayed and lived in Japan. Did you know that tempura is from Portugal?
Tempura is from Portugal!!! Woooow, I lived a whole year in Osaka and had no clue about this. There's also this famous sponge cake from Nagasaki that everyone went crazy over. Is that from Portugal too? Ummm they call it castella cake in Osaka...? Something like that.
oh awsomeness!!! i didnt know you were the director ^-^' thats awsome!!! your very blessed to have met him!!! :D maby u could get him to come see me for an interveiw? lol jk...haha well anyways...thanx!!
