@hallmobility Really? all the traditional ones have, at least, the ones who succeeded. Lenin, the continental congress, Castro, the ANC, etc. Anarchist Libertarian movements tend not to last very long or be sucessful. But if you want to martyr yourself in the name of anarchy, whatever turns you on man :)
also, is it just me or does Allison kinda sorta look like Gianna Michaels, and i mean that in a good way.
arguably, charities could provide better than government, and moreso, if the rich were hit hard in their pockets. That is, if they were forced to pay high tax. But how many of the rich would cherish that idea??
Ultimately, freedom, in the libertarian sense, comes at a price

the libertarian doctrine is immoral. It prides itself in promoting freedom for the individual. But it fails to address this: if everyone were to take on this self-centred belief system what would the consequences be for all other citizens in a society? There is an underlying nastiness about libertarian thought. it's vindictive, ultimately destructive
If everyone in society was free to voluntarily associate with one another without the coercive interference of the state, to act according to their own beliefs and preferences without trampling the rights of others in the process, then everyone in society would be far better off.
The only "nastiness" around here is the state demanding the fruits of someone's labor to enforce its own "equality" on everyone.

have you read Hobbes? Have you studied the hypothetical "State of Nature"?
Communists also want the state abolished. However, libertarians, at present, live in capitalist nations such as NZ.
Many of these libertarians desire negative rights eg. right not to be compelled (via legislation) to pay into a welfare state.
Thus, in the present situation, these libertarians do seek to "trample on the rights of others". What would happen in the abscence of state control is hypothetical
arguably, the ill, sick, and dying etc in society have a right to be taken care of. Their life-line is social welfare. In new zealand the "Social Security Act 1964".
If libertarians were to somehow evade their statutory obligations to pay tax pursuant to that legislation then those at the bottom of society would suffer the consequences.
Libertarians will exercise more personal autonomy, and be wealthier, but at the same time they will have increased suffering for others in society
Arguably is correct. Something that requires action from an outside party is not a natural right.
Private charities are far more efficient than welfare programs anyway, and they would be far better funded if the tax money of the autonomous and wealthy was left in their pockets rather than being squandered on the bureaucratic overhead of inefficient government welfare agencies.
kibertarian is a dangerous philosophy. It's primarily about personal freedom.
Generally, they speak of limited government intervention in the lives of citizens. Some want a "minarchy"-the least form of State, or no State at all(?), or the State privatized.
They want to sacrifice the needs of the collective to advance their own self-serving political ideology. Which is essentially selfish, mean, and depraved
@Guevaristas it's a movement about peace. It advocates ZERO aggression, unlike the governments that you want at your command to tell people what they can and can't do. Telling others that you know what is best for them is "essentially selfish, mean, and depraved."
"Libertarianism is aggressive" riiiiight Guevaristas. Because some folks don't want to be stolen from they are "aggressive." You're a good little collectivist aren't you? You have perfected your doublespeak to totally legitimize immoral behavior.
great. resorting to peta tactics, god knows people take political movements seriously when there are calender girls. christ libertarianism never ceases to make me laugh.
aww, why the hooters like calender? we don't need sex to sell our ideas do we? i thought we only needed pete's ass whooping skills. i guess it is for the dorm rooms
Very cool. I cam to libertarianism from the left as well and still share some common cause with my lefty friends (as many libertarians would, if they were willing to admit it and drop the "Socialism!" knee-jerk mantra)
... you're smart... your brain works in the right way... you're also hot and libertarian... heh, forgive me for saying so, but: Marry me <3 ?

Are you serious?? THAT'S your trump card?!
Alright, allow me to address this:

How did these libertarians seek to "trample on the rights of others" by desiring that they not be forced to pay for others?

there are many libertarians in new zealand. They eternally complain about statutory intervention in "their" lives.
Many are also opposed to state welfare. Some claim welfare is theft- theft of their money by the state.
Libertarianism is aggressive, as it asserts personal freedom at the expense of the collective good. It is, implicitly, a self-serving doctrine
