Perhaps you didn't know it, but Marlboro only became a sponsor in 1997. The footage of these cars is much older than that.
The real reason is that every country has a color or color combination that it's teams use on their cars in international events for easy identification. Italy's color is red, which is why Ferrari (and Alfa Romeo, Maserati, and others before it) uses it on their race cars.
