haha you just need to get used to have your third finger down. just keep pressing with your third finger until you're comfortable. nothing else you can do but practice and see where you need to land your third finger for a good sound :)

THIMBLES! yes, thimbles for sewing. get 4, preferrably metal but plastic's good enough, thimbles, large enough for your fingers, and it makes it so much easier.
