Thank you so much for putting this up. This was the most compelling and moving doc ive ever seen. I ended up catching the beginning of this one friday night and ended up blowing off my friends to watch this when I was in college. This is the only documentary, or any kind of movie for that matter, that moved me to tears multiple times. I consider my self a student of history and WWII and human nature, but id never seen anything from this perspective. Every school should show their students this.

My problem with The History Channel is they ignore the fact that the Soviet Union murdered more than the Nazis during this time period. This is by far the best World War II documentary I've ever seen. I watched it on TV last night, and afterward, I looked at the whole subject in a new light. Sure, the Holocaust was a very emotional thing all ready, but this documentary had an eerie-ness to it that I can't quite put my finger on.
@ebonyivoryyy The home movie atmosphere is what I find eerie. Its like the Germans knew they were being brainwashed and wanted to make the most of that fact by making movies that they could watch over and over again.
Those who fail to learn from History, are doomed to repeat it. There are so many lessons wrapped up in this documentary. Lessons that "We The People" need to learn and heed. this is one of the best documentries to come out given the "realty shows" that now waist time on the air. It gives facts and people accounts of events, video that they recorded as it happened which gives it strength. This is a great documentary! Much much better than all the nonsense the history channel usually puts out. Like the 11 million jews killed in concentration camps, even though there were barley 3 million in germany. The story we have heard just doesnt add up

My problem with The History Channel is they ignore the fact that the Soviet Union murdered more than the Nazis during this time period. The Holocaust also killed less than the USSR's Holodomor in Ukraine. But no one cares. Why? Because the winner writes history. Which is why I dismiss almost everything outside of the actual war itself.

This show was brilliant. The history channel in my opinion has taken a huge downward spiral recently. I mean, look at the completely shit shows they have on now. Swamp people, pwan stars, american restoration, american pickers, ice road truckers. All these shows are horribly boring. What happened to all the good shows. They begin with their "heroic soldiers" but fail to mention the suffering which took place among German speaking peoples between 1919 and 1933. They paint the struggle of a paople to resurect itself and free itself from the schackles put upon it by its mortal enemies. This is by far the best World War II documentary I've ever seen. I watched it on TV last night, and afterward, I looked at the whole subject in a new light. Sure, the Holocaust was a very emotional thing all ready, but this documentary had an eerie-ness to it that I can't quite put my finger on.

@bigmathafaka You speak words of truth, however, it would of been Germany alone with The Nuke, but the main reason they stopped building it, is the fact that they started lacking in materials and their labs got in to Allied hands, and it was pretty much the end of the war, so layouts from Germany, scientists from Britain and Canada were taken to America then The Manhattan project began.

I generally don't even watch the actual tv channel anymore, I wait til they show something good then find out where and when I can watch it elsewhere. There's no point sitting through all the crap shows they have out which have nothing to do with history. Should be renamed: "Reality TV, with intermittent history, Channel." I miss the History Channel from a decade ago.
