GLAD TO FIND THIS -THE SONG WAS BANNED FROM ST LOUIS RADIO BECAUSE IT "GLORIFIED STALKING". I AM NOT A DIXIE CHICK HATER BUT WHY WERE THEY ABLE TO KILL EARL AND STUFF HIM IN A TRUNK AND DOUG SUPERNAW WAS JUST STANDING THERE WITH A 2X4? I 'M NOT SURE IF THE BAN HELD UP BUT I NEVER HEARD THIS AGAIN TILL NOW AND THAT WAS,GUESSING 10-12 YEARS AGO.
The version of this song by Nitty Gritty Dirt Band is much better. Doug's voice is too deep and doesn't suit the song. Jimmy Ibbotson of the Dirt Band has the perfect voice for this song. It's on youtube, do a search for dirt band what'll you do about me. It's more high energy than Doug's version, rockin'
Doug is a great guy. Miss him hanging out with my family when I was a child. Love hearing him sing! Really wish he could make a comeback, it would be awesome!!
Supernaw was committed to a mental institution on July 2, 2007 per a ruling by a Brazos County, TX judge, after making bizarre statements in court, including claims of a "political economic conspiracy" against him, international kidnapping, being used as a marijuana "test monkey" by the government, and other wild accusations
@sanders1717 Doug is living here in Bandera. He is in excellent health and is surrounded by very close friends that have been a huge positive influence for him. I cant really go into detail out of respect for my friend, however, Doug recently returned from a trip to Nashville! He was gone a couple weeks so at this point lets all keep our fingers crossed and keep Doug in our prayers!!!!
This version pisses me off! Back in 1993, my band opened for Doug at a county fair. We did this tune and did it in the style of this version. I about passed a brick when I first heard it on the radio in 1995...for the first few seconds, I thought somebody had recorded our old band. When I heard Supernaw start singing, it all made sense...the sucker ripped-off my version!
@shoestrang2375 Randy Travis, Dirt Band, Forester Sisters and others have done this Dennis Linde song. But particulars licks used in the Supernaw version (i.e., intro) were verbatim of what my band did.
@curvy71 If he's on drugs, there is more to the story than we can know. Doug is a nice, honest person, a great singer and I wish someone could tell me where he is. I want to help him out during his rough time. If anyone knows where he might be, please reply to me.
I remember when this song came out and Doug released it as a single and it was pulled from radio play because of the line "I'm on the porch with a 2x2"...such a stupid reason to pull the airplay of it....great song!
Doug has an awesome voice. I love his unique way of singing - you know it when it's him singing. It's sad that country radio and Nashville in general let him fade. I still hold up hope that he will come back to music.
Love it! One of my favorites of Doug's. I think Steve Earle did a version once as well, but I haven't heard it in YEARS...if you have Doug's "What In The World", I'd love to hear that one again. Thanks :)
Thanks, man, I would like to upload 'What In The World'. It's a great song and I have the album 'You Still Got Me'. But sadly, I've tried to upload several songs off of 'You Got Me' but it always blocked the video because that one album is owned by WMG. It sucks. Sorry. =(

@MrWillgibm The country music game needs Doug back. This new country is OK and everything but not the same without him.

@Arthur5041975 Hell no. His version is woosyfied. This version sounds more psycotic and racy.
