  • The crowd gets bigger each year and withe portland and vancover it will only grow :)

  • The sounders are an amazing team, and if you think there fans aren't passionate and that attendance will drop because its not going to be cool anymore, well attendance has increased and they have opened up the upper bowl, and were second in our conference just under the LA Galaxy. Shut up retards you don't know anything.

  • Lol at the swedish chef. Great support you got there. Greetings from Slovenia.

  • high attendance does not mean passionate fans. their fans go cuz its "cool" and a trend. once the media stops obsessive over Seattle and their crappy team (since new expansions coming in, Seattles no longer MLS's baby) their attendance will probably drop because it's no longer cool to go

  • @gobuckeyes77and7rhcp we will see, won't we? I live two hours north... closer to Vancouver than Seattle, and I'm seeing support for the sounders growing bigtime. You can whine and cry about how you think we suck, but you can't argue with it when we prove you wrong.

  • @StrOcc ur team sucks

  • @gobuckeyes77and7rhcp yes yes, i suppose they've proved that by winning the US Open two years in a row, making the playoffs two years in a row, and earning the largest support in the league. your argument holds no weight. I deem you to be the average, thoughtless moron who says "ur team sucks" on a lot of youtube videos that have nothing to do with you. good day sir.

  • cant wait till ,arch! new season baby

  • i hope ever team sells out so the sport can rise in the U.S.. and yes MLS needs some rivalries.. Im a NY red bull fan , but the Sounders got great support

  • I like what you do on the stands!!

    Regards from Brazil.

Coritiba - Coxa - Green Hell

  • was support for the sounders always this large or did the club's supporters come out when seattle joined the MLS? It would be great for an answer. thnx

  • MLS average attendance is 16K.. MLB Baseball is 30K.. That tells you soccer is catching on and americans are seeing baseball as a shit lazy excuse as a sport. Keep in mind baseball has the gay US columnists constantly praising it while getting a lot of commercials and National TV coverage.. MLS is going to be great in the next 3 years once we get better players and establish a soccer style for the league

  • bufalosabresrock4444, I MUST correct you... Quest Field was approved by mostly soccer fans in Seattle. The Stadium was built for american football AND soccer. (So we knew we were going to put an MLS club in the stadium) The Seahawks didn't build the stadium, Paul Alan did, and guess what... he owns both the Seahawks and Sounders FC. You should read up and learn the facts, you won't sound as dumb when you talk.

  • The problem with the MLS is that there's no real rivalries, and that sort of takes some of the atmosphere out of it. I'm from Australia and if you look at our league, we have a sort of rivalry triangle between Adelaide United, Melbourne Victory and Sydney FC. Then you have Brisbane Roar vs Gold Coast United, Newcastle Jets vs Central Coast Mariners.

Then you look at the MLS and there are no rivalries, and that means there's always going to be abit lacking in atmosphere!

  • I on't know how you feel about outsiders but i'm a diehard soundersfan from sweden, started following SS when Ljungberg joined the squad, and i fell in love with the team, the stadium and the fans right away. So even though Freddie left (thats a fucking shame) I still stay awake at nights following the sounders every game. (btw i really hope SS get's more swedish players, we have skills) :P // Sorry for the bad english.

  • @Roosterboii I'm not a Sounders fan..I support Red Bull New York..but it makes me very happy see that you are following the MLS. I hope the league continues to expand. Thank you for your support. Much respect from New York.

  • Lol, what this video basically just taught me is that there are no black people in Seattle

  • 0:40...not bad. purely in the interests of Anglo American relations, I would be prepared to let the one on the right blow me.

    Your welcome

  • loyal supporters since 2009.. congrats ;)

  • Know your history: Sounders est. 1974.

  • @sounderfan I know when established.. I was referring to the crappy low attendance until they were MLS.. hence the "Loyal" comment ;)

  • @sounderfan know YOUT history: the sounder in 1974 were a completly different franchise. thats like saying Toronto Fc est. 1971, but the blizzard were a comepletely different franchise

  • This makes us look hella badass

  • @Chaunce8 Until you get beat down, hog-tied, and carried out of the stadium 3 cops to a person. Yeah, you guys are hard, man. ; )

  • @ cyberdeath you are right in a way. Sounders fans can get pretty frickin loud but until The USA gets rid of fucking baseball and recognizes Soccers supreme reign as the worlds sport, americans will continue to raise they're children on America's past time. i can only dream one day soccer will be as big here as in the World

  • @rufio02 they fisrt have to call it the right name. "football"

  • @stormfc16 Oh who gives a flying fuck?

  • hahaha...you're right cyberdeathG9 cause "futbol" is pretty much ALL most europeans have over there so the fan base SHOULD be much better or they'd be pretty pathetic! :)

  • Again, SO WHAT? Until you build a bigger stadium you'll be a smaller drawing club.

  • Sounders til i die!

  • Toronto could easily outselll them if they had a bigger arena

  • So?

  • soyou guys "Smashed" the records by default. It's only because you only have more seats.

  • There is no default. Until you build a bigger venue you won't be a bigger club.

  • @sounderfan YOU didnt build anything. the seattle sea hawks did, dont make it sound like they made the stadium just for the team, so icons right

  • @bufalosabresrock4444 Qwest was built for both the Seahawks and the Sounders USL team. Qwest is a multipurpose stadium.

  • @icon54 Dumb answer, NYRB were in the Giants stadium and did shitty. Also, i know of a lot of stadiums with less seats that don't even sell out... I applaud the Seattle fans!

  • @begley9 First off, NYRB has shite support anyways , lol.

I applaud the Sounders fans as well, I like seeing good support in the MLS, I really do. But if every team played in stadiums the size of quest, I dont think Seattle would be so dominant, comparatively

  • @icon54 There are not very many franchises in MLS that even sell out their stadiums. In fact, the only two clubs that would come close are the two most recent after Seattle, and even they don't sell out every game (Toronto added some seats to their stadium that aren't selling, and Philly is also playing in an NFL stadium for the mean time). On the other hand, Seattle opened up more seats for this season and they still have demand (even with the threat of strike). So no, the others aren't close.

  • @icon54 only because we have more seats? we arent the only club who plays in the size stadium we have. take a look around the league, none of the other clubs can sell out their stadiums, and most are smaller and should be easy to sell out.

  • thats deffo but thats the problem with this whole league.players don't get any choice in who they play for.owners don't own teams they lease them.and as for tfc its not about winning or giving the fans what they want, more seats and a championship, its about doing better next year and paying a higher ticket price.you don't suppose hamilton could fill ivor wynne?but it will never happen for the same reason as the nhl.a massive chokehold over the area with fans supporting a constantly loosing team.

  • I doubt it. Why is Seattle outvoting TFC for the all-star game so substantially? Why does Sounders FC's Facebook group have 38,000 fans, versus TFC's 9,600?

  • First off, do you really think TFC would host an all star game for 2 straight years?

Second, what does a facebook group have to do with anything? I'm telling you right now, Toronto capped out at 16,000 season tickets, and there is atleast14,000 people on a waiting list to get season tickets.

But that's something a facebook group wont tell you

  • Re the all-star game, I was referring to voting to players. I meant to use that and the facebook numbers as indicators of fan support.

Regarding tickets. The Sounders initially capped the season tickets for this year at 22,000. They then opened up more seating and sold an additional 4,000 second half season tiocket packages. The Sounders also have a 25,000 person waiting list for next season.

Will you be coming over for the game at the end of August?

  • keep in mind that we're also bringing in 35,000 people to every game. 16,000 < 35,000. And, if seattle were to open up all of Qwest Field, we'd be bringing twice as many.

  • Just out of curiosity, do you have any away fans?

I was at the Sounders' first ever MLS game away from Qwest, and I never saw one supporter.

  • You obviously didn't look hard enough. haha

  • I looked all around.

Couldn't hear a single person cheer when they scored either.

I was actually looking forward to another team in the MLS with good support coming down to BMO.

    Meh

  • We also figured that you guys would've put up a bit of a fight when we came into Toronto.

    Meh.

  • Well, we haven't really put up much of a fight vs. anyone this year, or any year for that matter

  • No excuses. I'll give you this, you guys are good fans. We're just better.

  • The difference between Seattle and Toronto fans is that Seattle fans know they are the best. They don't need to get into online pissing conests to prove it.

  • Haha, don't be so sure of that.

  • Best supports of MLS !!

    GO SOUNDERS !
