I had a Storm and the browser is SO slow. The whole phone is just slow. I had free browsing but only if I used the Blackberry browser, so I was kind of stuck. And the constant battery pulls sucked. Although that's not confined just to the Storm. I paid it out early and went to a HTC Desire. Best phone ever.

ATTENTION, this is a horrible review.....the 3g and wifi on my current storm2 with the OS update is BLINK FAST like the iphone, exactly like the Iphone. PLUS RIM bought torch mobile last fall and HAVE BEEN developing a web browsing full html FLASH SUPPORTED browser that's coming out in the summer when apple launches a MEESLY 4giphone which isn't really going to offer much. if ur a BB user stick to a BB, cuz iphones are incapable of what BBs can also do, thank u

If you have saved your contacts to the sim card then they will be there when you put the card into any new phone. If, however, you have only saved contacts to the phone, you will have to contact your carrier.

man, the only reason why im not gettin the Storm 2 is because of its slow browsing speeds. other than that, i like it. So i have decided to get the Motorola Droid on Black Friday. Any one know why its called Black Friday?

On Bold 9000, watching streaming videos over wi-fi wasn't smooth at all. The connection used to break in the middle and many times the wi-fi connection had to be turned off and back on to be able to make another attempt at watching the video. It was a pretty discouraging experience.

Now what I wonder is how is it on Storm 2?

it's a shame that this phone is being eclipsed by the Droid....they are both decent phones and both need to be pushed equally. But the hype over the Droid is killing this phone from day one.

True, as for oridinary users go. I also think the Droid is superior for people who just want a multi-media phone. As for the true messaging people, who for the most part are already using BB's, this is the phone to go. The BB-services are only available on BB.

But as all of his fellow-BB devices, the Storm 2 is just not a toy phone like all those other multi-media devices.

like he says in the video..... Opera Mini. download it and try it. I love it.... haven't used the stock browser in months. I wish my storm had the 2's upgraded internal memory for apps and stuff.... i think it would alleviate a lot of problems.

We have a family member who bought the first Storm - she says no problems but apparently there were alot. We are going to wait for Verizon to release this as both me and my husband are ready for our upgrade now. I believe the Storm 2 is ready to match the I-Phone. Regardless of the service Verizon does have more National Coverage than the other competitors and I have been with them since 2001. If it aint broke - dont fix it.

btw. im rocking the 5.0 .230 beta os on my phone, its better than any other storm 1 os.

Yet i just barely use the browser, its clunky and slow, even with full bars on 3g.

Im not trying to hate, but there is soo much to be dissapointed about the storm and storm2.

I have owned 7 different touch screen phones.

I have a storm1.

Its less thought out than the g1 android phone.

And that phone was rocking a brand new operating system.

rim has been doing os's for many years now, and still they have yet to figure it out.

Yes i know, they are new to touch screens, but there are much better options out there, then the Storm1 or the Storm2.

Im sure the software issues will be lessened with updates, but they need an entire os overhaul.. period.

i dont think this guy owns a blackberry, or know much about this phone, he said that it will have 128 mb application memory . its gonna have 256 mb

and notice he dont close the anything properly . he hits the end key , which cause the app to still run in the background. that alone will slow any blackberry up. it took me a while to figure out , they actually multitask.

You're right about the 256 MB, I hadn't double-checked the spec sheet before the unboxing. Way too eager to try it out. ;)

I hit the end key because I wanted to move along quickly and not chug through the menu to "Close" every time I wanted to show something.

I usually pack a Bold (had it since launch), but have also used the 7520, 8700, 8800, 8100, 9530, 8230, 8520, 8900, and 9630.
