YES. I know! But damn it this trailer just oozes so much musical creativity, lust, and pleasure to my ears that it almost disheartens me that I didn't know about this earlier.
I found P.T exactly 3 weeks ago and then I found out Steven Wilson had this solo album coming out and I shit my pants when I saw the trailers and said I'm gonna order right now!!!
he said music is suppose to be presented in a very creative and artistic way. Thus the images, trailers, and movie behind his solo album instead of a disc with data sealed in a soul less jewel box and digital players.
In an interview I remember him saying that he hates iPods because of the sort of pick-and-choose attitude people have to music now because of mp3s, particularly skipping over tracks rather than listening to a record as a whole... at least that's what I got from it. I can't remember which interview it was.
I was wondering about the iPod thing, too. I'd love to see that interview now (especially since I love the iPod concept and interface... and Steve Wilson... >_>;; ). I can't entirely agree with that statement, actually... certain albums just lend themselves to be listened to all the way through, and the iPod lets you do that *or* listen to individual songs... ^^;
MY thought is that hate the iPod if you will, but iPods are made for spacing out, too, and full listening to albums (If people want only one or a few songs, they shouldn't havve bought the album at all). That's why I save the iPod for albums that need close and deep listening, and the rest for CD players.
