  • are these instant on a single edge?

  • I've been looking for a way to wire a door that works effectively on both sides does it have to be just like this or can it be modified to a different design to work for each side of a door

  • @TrKaHo There are many different ways to build XOR gates, this is one of them. What you could do is use this design, and then just pull wires from wherever the levers are to where you acually have the gate!

  • Could you connect a XOR gate to another XOR gate and therefore make more than 2 inputs?

  • @Kevwho123 Yes you can =) if you watch my "Timed dispenser" video, I've done just that!

  • May I ask, what's the deal with connecting the torch to the side of the block. Why not put it between the blocks so it's permanently on?? As this for sure is yet an Idea as for my dads computer is an XP and rather slow. Everytime a redstone circut is turned on, It lags. so I'm asking can you just leave the torch in between the 2 blocks?

  • @mastercork889

The torch on the right block is used to power the middle redstone "wire" that powers the piston at the end when the piston closest to the left block is off. It needs to be able to turn off with the flipping of the right switch in order for this whole thing to be a XOR-Gate.

  • some of these piston logic gates are really useful, since the bigger ones can be hard to remember how to build. I know XOR and XNOR gates aren't too hard to remember but i find myself forgetting them all the time and the piston ones are smaller and easier so thanks for making these videos!

  • flippy floppy

  • This is actually a fun series comparing them to the good old gates :p.

  • now do a flip-flop gate with pistons

  • Man good memories when I watthc this series. You were the one who thought me most of my basic rs knowledge;-) Where would we be with out good old sirdavva!

  • to everybody that thinks these logic gates are stupid think of it this way the "and-gate" and the "xor-gate" is much more compact than the original gates

  • Hey just so u know, the right word was 'extended' not 'expanded'

  • @Kalebomb I'll try to remember that for video #4 ^^

  • This reminds me of the redstone air-lock you made a while back, maybe you could make an air-lock with pistons? You could make the "doors" out of iron blocks for a real locked in feeling :D

  • @shadow306k That should be possible ;-)

  • Rolf, I need your assistance. I know it's not entirely related to this video but i know you can help. I made a T flip flop and it works but when i try to pull the button to a new location and connect it to the T flip flop where the button originally was, it doesn't work! Could you help me please? ~Tim

  • @TheMidget90210 Some T Flip Flop designes need a repeater in the input to power the block completely. Try that, if it doesn't work, then it's a Minecraft glitch : restart your Minecraft or server. If THAT doesn't work ... then the design sucks :D

  • @TheMidget90210 That's wierd... how far away from the acual flip-flop is the button? try to put a repeater in the middle, between the button and the flip-flop. Otherwise... I'm afraid I don't know =/

  • Pistons needs logic? WHO KNEW!

  • @themightymaxxion Everything needs logics!

  • @sirdavva I have yet to use proper logic for Pistons, haven't found a need yet. One input, one result. And how I get there is pure luck :P

  • @themightymaxxion But in time, when you need logic for pistons, you know where to look ;-)

  • @sirdavva I'm not too crazy-obsessed about more than one input things, the most I'd use is an RS-NOR latch. Otherwise it's just connection.

  • Oh and when I say the "same thing" I mean like do the same thing as you do in the normal OR gate

  • Hey Rolf-David can you build somewhere else. I think using the same stone platform makes it really boring. Try something other than sandstone too. I might just being picky, but I do think the minecraft scenery looks quite nice. (:

  • @AtlantaEdits I am using the sandstone on the smooth stone since the contrast between them is really clear. Though at the same time both smoothstone and sandstone is quite light in their color and redstone is therefore easy to see when ontop of either block =)

  • you are a great youtuber cuz you respond to so many comments which shows that you actually care about your channel not trying to make money. great work.

  • @FlaminPancakeZombies I'm glad you appriciate it! I put much time and effort into all of thise =)

  • i know how to do the NOR gate you just do the same thing but you replace the repeater with a red stone and break the block under the spot after where the repeater was and put a redstone there!

thumbs-up so he see and make a video for all of you to see!!

  • how do i make a video response? those torches make it slower, and without them you can make it smaller

  • @LuckePucke95 When you write a comment to a video there is the possibility to "add video" or something similar. And how would you build it without the torches?

  • @sirdavva Sent the video as a video response now, you can see for yourself :)

  • love the new intros! BOOM 8-)

  • @MrOneWolfe It's acually a old one, I just haven't used it since I think it's a bit too long!

  • I really love piston logic gates. Almost all of my complex circuts use a piston gate in one form or another :-)

  • Jag älskar din filmer, Rolf! :)

  • make a piston tutorial with a T-flip-flop, I know how to do it, but it is extremely small compared to the normal T-flip-flop

  • your asum i did this some weeks ago but mine whas biger so now i am replacing all my xor gates whit thius disign

by the way u are asum ^_^

  • @sirdavva URGH so sorry, that hosting service shut down, now its £9.48 for 12 slots.... BUT that £2 for 6 slots will be up and running again soon, google "brohoster" and it will take you to their new hosting site (under construction)

  • could you use this for a door like 1 lever would be outside and another could be inside?

  • You've had trouble with the words for pistons when they're "on" before, I think the best word is "extended"

  • great logic gate dude

  • I watched this video and then afterwards I pressed the like button :)

  • the basic point or use of the XOR gate is to change the output by pressing any lever

  • can you release updated map of yours the "PlayGraund"

  • @ItsMrRobi I did, I updated it today, just a few hours ago ;-)

  • 3*4*1

  • Rolf my friend, the word you are looking for is extended.

    expand is to - balloon.

extract is to take out of.

I know, there are too many "ex" words that has such similar meanings.

  • @spoonikle Ah screw it! ^^ l've never been any good at languages

  • @sirdavva If I may make a request, can you do a T-Flip Flop next as this is one of the most useful piston gates in the game.

  • @TheMrZbot Not in the next episode I am afraid, but possibly the one after that.

  • Have you seen the piston T Flip-Flop thats only 1x4x3. It's so small and it works perfectly.

  • wow thats a pretty clever one

  • 0:55 and then äääh eeuuuw ööööö

    ahead!

  • Ive never used one of these what could it be used for?

  • @kylez963 For exampel a hidden trap you can open it from top then go down and close it with the lever below and open it and you can open and close it from any place.. get it?

  • @Algotify Yes! Thank you :D

  • Hello, I post minecraft videos on youtube, come please check and out and tell me what you think about them. Maybe press the subscribe button? :3 If you have any ideas for my channel with something you want me to build/do in minecraft, please comment on my video and tell me. Enjoy!

  • David i think extended might work better xD

  • @JayWalker787 Hehe, yeah

  • Awesome.

  • y u so stutter.

    lrn2script

  • @FinalVsLunar y u care so much?

Maybe he struggles because English isn't he native language.

  • @Daniel1993UK who said anything about english?

he just had a hard time talking about how it worked.

  • @Daniel1993UK That might of been because he was struggling to find the correct words to explain it.

  • pistons fo the win

  • @theanimated1 Indeed ;-)

  • top comment with 9 thumbs up???

  • i WANNA PLAY MINECRAFT WITH YOU.... ah shit caps

  • @OhHiThereMrBeast Hehe, I'm afraid I can not afford to rent a server, it costs too much!

  • @sirdavva £2 month for 6 people last time I checked, you should ask your subscribers to donate!! :D - um.. unlikely that you do but, if this actually happens I want in for suggesting it >:D

    keep it up" ;d

  • Why you have Only 5k Subs? You must have more!

  • @Marvenion I don't know, maybe the redstone users aren't that many? =P

  • Good video as usual Rolf. Keep up the amazing work.

  • @killroy7777 Thank you! =)

  • i love all these logic gate tutorials. so cool and so useful :)

  • @PlusNegitiveOne It's now that they acually starts getting useful! =)

  • Really like this series

  • @maarten8412 Glad you like it =)

  • cool

  • a XOR gate? Never expected that to be possible with pistons...

  • @thenewnoob123 Everything is possible with pistons ;-)
