  • you feel like slapping? why so violent?

  • thats it, im adopting this style of salsa. I hate the one that i was taught. It's too common.

  • @lamujermaslinda

It's Colombian style. If you really want to learn I suggest you find someone from Cali, Colombia. Salsa capital of the world :)

  • His name is Jhon Vasquez and he does competitions.

  • @krazyentertainment He's not Jhon Vazquez, he is Luis Eduardo "El Mulato". Director of swing latino.

  • Me PAREC O ES SWING

  • @michasalsa1995 no es baile salsa al estilo caleno.

  • esto es cali!!!

  • he's El Mulato suker!from Cali - Colombia ....u know.."Swing Latino"..?

  • Oh now I get it!! I've been watching many videos of colombian salsa and I didn't get how they did the footwork so fast even during the turns. It's because they're not doing like tipical salsa were you bend the knee to the front and finish the step, what they do is like a mix of tap, salsa and jive I guess. But it's still looks fantastic and really good to the salsa beat. But it's diferent how puerto ricans, dominicans or cubans dance it!

  • cali style salsa foot work has a cumbia and west coast swing influence.

  • You pretty much summed it up.

  • The man has a pic of the Brazilian flag in his hands ("verde e amarelo"). Are you sure it's salsa, not samba?

  • yes this is salsa and the man is called el mulato he has a salsa group which is called swing latino amazing look it up

  • @jt21419 Hi. It's called Colombian Samba. There's a history between Brazil and Colombia, but in simple terms, this dance is a combination of salsa and samba. You are very observant.

  • @ForKaraoke Hey, Thats very interesting. Im Brazilian and i have a lot of friends from Cali, Colombia. and when i do my samba steps they say they have similar foot work. We always assumed that there some history between our countries. do you know any web links where i can further my research on this topic?

  • Now that's salsa! Great footwork!

  • but as long as those "boring puertoricans" enjoy their salsa let them dance!

    hay q disrutar la musica!

  • It's El Mulato - Swing Latino ( incase you dont know already)

  • qu curioso años antes era luis eduardo "mulato", martha, Mercedez "mechas" y Ottoniel, quienes conformaban el ballet azucar ahora l "mulato" campeon con su swing latino y Otto y Mechas en NJ con Son De Cali Internacional

  • i kno alot of columbianz and none that i kno dance like that...

  • Colombians!! ... and it's a silly comment, It's like saying "I know many Chinese and none of them know kung fu". Colombians dance more salsa in the Pacific region, where Cali is located.

  • @cadiazm i think that in atlantic coast dance too, where cartagena and barranquilla located

  • perhpas, that's because they are not from cali, colombia...in cali, is the place where people dance like this...

  • probably because they are not from cali, colombia

  • Para el que quiera saber el nombre del instructor es el mulato de Swing Latino desde Cali, Colombia. Y que viva la salsa.

  • Te apoyo mi querida paisanita cumbiambera, nosotros tenemos swing, sabor y AZUCA!!!!!!!!

  • Yo vwbigchris stop hating on the cali style, its a different way of dancing thats all and Mulato is just teaching a couple of steps! Plus cumbiambera is right moving your shoulders is very afeminite, I'm not saying it doesn't look good just we don't do it, we feel the percusion rhythms through our complex footwork...something the Boricuas lack!

  • viva Colombia

  • no shoulder movement. lack sabor

  • My father, a 67 years old man, was my first salsa teacher. He told me, when he was young, it was not "masculine" to move the shoulders. He is in Cali, he is still dancing every Friday or Saturday. He tells me, how different "boys" are dancing now...they move too much their shoulders! Funny, isn´t it? Let´s enjoy this great music: SALSA LATINOAMERICANA!

  • not just footwork but the way Puerto Ricans move their shoulders and feet together has a unique look . Something the columbians lack

  • you mean it's a different style. kudos to whomever is learning cuz i don't dance and my dad is from Clai!can you believe that?

  • go for it Calena04 ! That's right. I dont know why but there are plenty europeans dancing cubana or LA on a VERY high level... but teaching Calena to them is a really hard work.

  • Wanna learn salsa the right way? Go to a Puerto Rican school

  • I agree for beginner and intermediate students because Salsa from Cali Colombia is advanced level.Colombians can dance Boricua and Cuban style, but they can't dance our style, they're not used to our fast footwork.

  • Just come to Calena04 when you wanna know eeeeeeeverythang about ColOmbian salsa. I have over 100 vidz about our style, and that's Luis Eduardo Hernández (El Mulato) from Cali, Colombia and with his salsa school-Swing Latino.

  • i fukin hate when ppl write COLOMBIA wid a U... feel like slappin who ever wrote that

  • Slapped!! My bad, sorry about that, corrected!

  • kool kool

  • Thank you......I thought I was the only one that hated that, and to think that it comes out on newspapers, freakin editors don't catch it.
