Hey guys. My cousin owns Rhythm and Brews and I saw you guys. Very nice work... have a band of my own but we are original and have no covers to do on stage... so I don't know my criticisms are valid however, here goes:
I will agree with the Lead being way out in left field on the solo. Also, use some "Goof Off" to get the glue of your shoes. Move around more, enjoy yourselves, interract with the crowd/fans more. This goes for everyone, not just the singer.
None of the elements of what makes the original lead cool are there.I wasn't criticizing the speed but the fact that it was totally generic with no feel at all.Your singer is very over-dramatic for a guy with no stage presence that just stands there.
See? Was it so hard to be detailed in your critique? Sheer fact of the matter is that this is the last song of a 3 and a half hour set, so yeah, stuff looks generic by then since we're all tired.
Check out some of our other stuff, see what you think...and thanks for the comments, at least SOMEONE watches.
We have fired our lead guitar player because, as you so eloquently pointed out, self-indulgent overly-fast guitar solos have absolutely no place in heavy metal.
We have hired a blues guitarist to replace him. All guitar solos now consist of three notes. We hope you enjoy this new development.
Also, our singer recently won several amateur comedy contests, and he thanks you for your validation of his choice.
I have to say something about this comment now granted that guys a jerk pay him no mind you guys sound good but I dunno what kind of blues you listen to I am a jazz/blues guitarist and we're not playing only 3 notes don't get me wrong I love metal more then anything but I do have a passion for jazz check out alex skolnick from testament playing some jazz and check out my main video page you'll see a jazz band performing thats real jazz and of course jazz is an off shoot of blues anyways you guys
Redrum is by far the best cover band in NYC! All naysayers shall have their brains turned to shit by Redrum's sheer awesomeness
