  • That was a very nice race man! I always wanted to put my Corsa Gsi against a polo gti but I just never get one next to me!!! You should go check it out...

  • @McDuncun i've have a corsa b gsi with branches + f/f, stuck with a polo gti quite nicely up to 80kph, then it pulls a solid gap 100+

  • nice road to drag...turbo vs aspirated :P ... good luck

  • well i wanna use it as my everyday car, but also wanna do my own mods on the car. im guessing the fiesta is better when it comes to doing your own mods, whats the difference in fuel consumption? very similar? thanks for helping out by the way :)

  • @MrFORD88FOCUS : you can do about just as many mods on a polo as you do on a Fiesta...

depends o,n how handy you are and what you want to upgrade.

for a everyday car i would say, polo, it has more torque and nicer to drive around in, better seats and more comfort.

and if you just chiptune it you'll be looking at 190 - 210Hp and +-300nM.

ideal for daily use and still being fast.

ST is more firm, harder suspension, you need more revs to get forward and fuell consumption is a bit more ;-)

  • @MrFORD88FOCUS oh, and just try to get 200Hp out of the ST...

you'll be spending alot of money and it won't make fuell consumption better at all.

when you chip the polo to 200Hp you have enough torque low down, so fuell consumption will be even lower as stock.

but, if you floor it, it will use fuel as water :-p

not that i'm against ST's but this is my opinion if i keep in mind what you are looking for...

    Hope it helps ;-)

  • whats up guys, both your cars are mad i wont lie, im looking at buying one of the 2 right now, the polo gti is harder to find and slightly more expensive, guessing this is because of the higher stock power. with regards to that can you give me the stock specs on both the cars just so i know which route to go. thanks!!!

  • @MrFORD88FOCUS thank you for the comment,

wich to choose depends on what you are looking for...

what is the purpose of the car? what you want to use it for...?

  • @MrFORD88FOCUS thank you for the comment.

wich to choose really depends on what you want to use the car for?

polo is a more expensive at purchase, but after that, the polo will be cheaper as the ST.

but they both are fine cars, but like i said, you need to know what you are going to use the car for before making a desicion ;-)

  • get the fiesta

  • I'm thinking of buying the new polo GTI with the 180ps supercharger/turbo engine. Does anyone know how easy or difficult it is to tune? Reliability and cost are big issues.

  • @Stream0802: don't realy know much about the new 1.4 twin charger.

but with only chiptuning they can go to 210Hp, wich is pretty good for a 1.4.

reliability is something i worry more about, but on the other hand, technologie is far enough to make a good and strong 1.4 wich can take alot.

DSG is positive and realy quick!

no being pro VW, but to be honest, i don't think it's a bad car at all;-)

  • Got a ST with a 2.3 cosworth engine build. Similar to the ST the Greeks worked on with jamsport. Ran 390bhp on the rolling road. Not met many like-for-like cars that can keep up though :) Your polo sounds like it would have a good go!

  • @v1den : i can't keep up with a 390Hp ST :D

the guy in the movie now has a supercharger on his ST, has 296Hp.

goes pretty fast, i can't keep up.

    but, i still have a poor 175Hp.

few month he will be mapped and it will get minimim 230Hp and 350nM.

with other turbo etc 4-500Hp is easy to get out of it, but expensive...

    thx for comment ;-)

  • @Turbomier would definitely recommend a supercharger over a turbocharger. Unless you would go for both? But that would obviously be a massive overhaul in my eyes and would also recommend a rollcage!

wtf is this about mini's? the guy is a fruitloop! I could beat that little toy in 1st! haha! doesnt have a clue!

  • @v1den egnore him.

it's not worth it overthe internet ;-)

Supercharger is great, but my personal choise would be Turbo.

    but that up to youreself..

i must say, the SC ST is pretty fast :-D

  • @Turbomier Ive been thinking about bi-turbo...would like to get the engine past the 500bhp mark :D

  • @v1den Why would you do a Bi-Turbo set up?

it will cost to much to build and the Q is how will it run...?

500Hp is to much on the front wheels only.

better stay around 300, so you still can go round a corner and keep everything safe ;-)

but, sounds realy sick! if you do it i wish you the best of luck!!!

  • @Turbomier would probably 4x4 it. Totally strip it and rebuild. Dependant on money and time obviously. That is, if I actually go ahead with it. Bi-turbo should run fine on the cossie engine mate, its just a case of whether I actually want to do it. Each time I get work done I want to improve on it again.

Not arsed about mag covers, websites, galleries and stuff like that, just engine driving a fantastic machine :)

  • yeah coz ur gunna do all that wif a fiesta aint ya...

  • Fiesta has nice exhaus sound

  • you need to mod your polo more for any real power, my advice would be to get a new Four nozzle throttle body. and then get a remap to make sure the power of that and the turbo is where you want it to be :)

  • @lagundafire remap is on the way.

wil run minimum 230Hp with stock turbo.

after that i will do turboswap. 270 - 340Hp is the end goal.

@Chingonshushu: why all the hating man.

    aren't we all carlover here?

    sad...

  • is there ani way part from turboin or super chargin an st cud beat a gti like 106 or polo ????

  • polo....fiesta LOOL..... MINI JCW thats more like it!

  • @Chingonshushu Mini Pooper? LOLZ

  • @BryanHectic Dont be jelouse... just coz you have a chav car, dont hate! the JCW will "poop" all over whatever you have, now head of to bed.

  • @Chingonshushu

HAH. That's cute. If you had any idea what I'm running, you'd change your tone. the JCW's redline is my idle, stop runnin' yer mouth and run it on

the track. And I hope you're not one of those kids who fronts a car they don't even own...

  • @BryanHectic as I knew you would say something down those lines lool... yeah ok sunshine I dont care what you have just one thing... 300+HP isint everything get that through your head, oh btw no am not a kid acting to own a super car(which is what your doing) i proudly own a JCW GP no.151 for 3 years now... so dont come here and give me bullshit about the car you own idle's at my redline lol. as i said GO TO BED!

  • @Chingonshushu - 06 VW GTI 2.0T (2006 car and driver car of the year) Injen SRI, APR Stage II - 302 hp, 308 lbs of torque. I may not own a supercar, But compared to your Pooper. And my car is pushing 300 horses PLUS an interior and style that makes your mini-pooper look like a fucking Yugo.

Don't come onto a video fronting a car that isn't even relevant, and if you do, it better be something better than a Mini-Pooper! XD

  • @BryanHectic except the JCW Cooper is a reliable pocket rocket that handles like a go-cart, but an overclocked GTI is just another mid-range hothatch with a few self-mods. enjoy getting little to no return on your considerable investments for the minute gap you'll manage to pull on a JCW cooper in a straight line

  • The ST has not 180Hp with this mods!!!! maybe 165HP!!! The git is not faster, the ST has a bad start. Made a video 2nd gear at 50K/mh !!

  • youre right it does not have 180Hp.

he went on dyno like a month ago and come out on 170Hp exacly.

polo has 167 on the same dyno on the same day.

we have done rolling starts and from every gear and alot of start from standing still.

ST had a good start in video but polo is faster, specially from roling start! ;-)

  • okay man ... but the polo on a track is slower than the fiesta st and you knwo it =)...lets have a ride on the nordschleife=)?`... and st sounds better, but the gti is a good car too=)

  • sound is personal hoise, i like every sportscar sound :-p

ST is N/A and GTI is Turbo so the sound is hard to compare.

on track, stock VS stock is the ST the better one.

it just steers better into a corner and has a better feel with the road.

i've been on the Nurburgring nordschleife, must say i was surprised with the handling of the GTI:-p

    from where are you?

maybe someday we can take a ride on nurburgring together ;-)

  • @Turbomier

I`m from germany =) hessen.....yes the gti is goog too=) where are you from?...yeah man lets have a ride in the future=) .... have a nice day man=)....

  • Oh, thats not so far away from here, i'm from Belgium.

this summer i'm planning to go to nurburgring.

i'll keep in touch with you.

    Thx for comments ;-)

  • Niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! :D

I was looking at both of these cars today, one of them may be my next purchase hehe

Both cars in the vid stock?

ST lost the race as it's not built for straights... not enough torque...

Take the Polo/ST around a corner and power out, you'll see/feel the different, ST will win (Y)

  • Thx ;-)

    about the ST,

i have drivin them and they are easier to work around corners and they are faster on track.

but when you put other suspension on the polo you'll see that it's an equal match for the ST.

on the other hand, the polo is faster in straight line yes.

but its less built for straight line than te ST.

polo drops dead after 5500rpm (no torque)

the ST really comes to life after +4500RPM wich is better for straights.

the ST in the video is tuned and has 170Hp-210nM on dyno

  • poOOOlllooooo winnn ahaha !!!

  • vw the best polo gti kicks arse,,,on the new 1 its gona have the 180bhp engine out the scirroco

  • they will probably use that engine i guess...

  • yeh its suposed 2 be the 1.4 tsi with 7speed dsg gbox,,think the new ibiza cupra has got it 2

  • yeah, that i do know, cupra has 1.4 TFSi engine with 180Hp;-)

would be logic that new polo will have it to...

  • 1.8 20v 165ks stock????

  • full stock it had 161Hp on Dyno.

i only added a airfilter so i guess it would have 165. (would be alot for only airfilter)

    but 4Hp doesn't really matter ;-)

  • are the St's not quite heavy but ?

  • ST weighs less then a GTI ;-)

  • What maks it so much faster then :O?

  • Torque ;-)

  • aw klkl lol .. would the ST catch the gti when they begin to reach top speed ?

  • no, thats kinda the same.

fromlow to mid range RPM the polo is alot stronger, once in higher RPM its kinda the same.

so everytime i shift i pull somemeters on the ST ;-)

  • aw klkl lol :) thanks for the info

  • HKS T66

  • polo gti will always be the faster car.. i have one with revo3 softwar, cai, powerflow exhaust, big intercooler and gas... 325.25hp at the wheels, nothin has caught me lately

  • Fiesta was tuned, mine was stock.

but how can you have 325 ATW if the standard turbo can hold MAX 250Hp on flywheel?

do you have a GT28RS on it?

  • todavia no entiendo a la gente q compara atmosfericos contra sobrealimentados... el mundo esta de cabeza

  • theere both good cars but after driving my mates st im glad i got a pologti. when chipped the gti will utterly own the st.

  • st slow polo gti rules dude's :)

  • st win yhhhh lol

  • in what movie did you see that??? :-D

i have raced alot of times against that ST,

it's allways close between us, but he never won against my Polo GTI ;-)

  • the polo will always win more torque and wen remapped polo will be at 200hp

  • polo does have more torqua, ut its still stock.

  • Only 160 hp with these mods for the ST. When the manifold is paired with the rest stock exhaust it provides only 2-3hp. The sportcat provides only 1hp. With a full exhaust system (Milltek, Piper, Code Red) we are talking about 10hp. And the stock ST's horsepower is at about 147-148hp (145bhp).

  • it's a full piper exhaust system.

    compared with airfilter and dreamsience.

but you could be right about 160Hp also.

another friend has the same mods without dreamsience and has 172Hp on dyno, thats what we based it on to say it would have 170 - 180Hp.

but its not sure so we could be wrong.

  • 180 hp aahahahahhahahahahahahahha tell your muddi alter

  • maybe it has less, maybe it has more, soon we will know when he has gone on the dyno.

    this is a pure quess!

everybody thinks the car with the most horsepower wins, when torgue is a verry important factor most people forget about..

  • you could be right,

but another friend has Miltek exhaust and airfilter and he has on the dyno 172Hp

and this one is a litlle faster i guess.

but its hard to tell how many HP a car has on sight.

next week he goes on the Dyno and then we are sure about its power.

    till then its guessing.

  • With these mods the Fiesta isn't over 165-168... 180 only with cams
