I think it's worth pointing out that the Alstereisvergnügen has not taken place in 2010 yet. The event has to be officially given the go-ahead and includes stands on the ice itself, not just a few round the lake

I must say, I thought I'd never see the Alster freeze again. 1997 was much colder than this time, with minus 18°C.
