This called the Thurland was one of the best pubs in the city centre during the 1970s and80s .The lanlord was called Big Fred .Followed by Michael Coleman .We as regulars mostly lunch time used to sit just inside the main door .Some of the regulars names were .Barbara Cotton .Joan Bingham. Frank Chambers .and Julia.Des O,Neal and Pat.from St Annes .Deb from Carlton .Jack and Shiela now living in Skegness Harold. Irish Philip. Sally Ash from East Leak .Tom from Sandiacre Lorry driver Tom .
