Pero antes fue la que representó el mejor carnaval del país, en la provincia de Los Santos, lleno de lujo, gana la más bonita, mejor donaire, alegria y canciones o tonadas.etc ,Bueno son dos reinas escogidas y preparadas por un año y durante los 4dias y 5 noches tienen que sacar toda su preparación, es = agotador, satisfactorio.
La respuesta de Panamá no fue incorrecta, sino como la planteó, en pocos segundo no supo explicarla, pero de todas es la más bonita, junto con la de cuarazao que tenia un excelente porte. La respuesta de la de usa solo fue alegre, pero no era la chica más linda, es verdad que la belleza es una cosa y la inteligencia es otra, pero los nervios del momento que papel juega? Pero no es la mujer más bella del mundo este concurso. Creo q debe implicar lo q hace en su país cada una.Q cala más lo físico?

Creo que todos nosotros desde que sacan al las quince finalistas tomamos a nuestras favoritas a veces acertamos otras no, yo vi este certamen ese año y para mi si merecia ganar USA. tenia chispa se le vio desde que gano la corona de su país si no me falla la memoria un par de meses antes, la Brook tenia encanto, simpatia y belleza singular.

la verdad que en este grupo de 6 finalistas casi tooooooodas son feas, sòlo se pueden sacar 2: Venezuela y Panamà, porque Curazao es elegante pero no es bonita, Italy elegante y sensual pero no es bonita, USA muy chispa pero es FEA y TTobago horrible, la mas bonita es la de Venezuela pero es muy apagada, y la de Panama tambien es guapa pero le faltò seguridad en sus respuestas. If she had did her job and scored the contestants impartially, Miss Curacao just might have made the top 3, because she missed it by a fraction of a point. The act of one judge, when there is such a narrow gap between scores, can affect the outcome.

What is this controversy about Brooke Lee's beauty??? She had the complete package. Outer and inner beauty....that plus intelligence and her great wit and ability to think on her feet and give unique answers (especially to a difficult question), assured her place in the top 3. She deserved to win ....she has it all.....beauty, poise and intelligence!!
I don't think either Curacao, Italy or Venezuela was robbed of the crown...they each could've won. They threw away their chances by giving mediocre answers.
You need to THINK more CLEARLY and put things in PERSPECTIVE. The interview is a portion of the MU. It is about the complete package: beauty, elegance, charisma and spontaneity. The LANGUAGE BARRIER played a big part in the interviews. MU has always had incompetent interpreters.
Oh, and by the way, Brook won because she was the total package; funny enough, pretty enough, fun enough, smart enough, fresh enough and seemingly humble enough. She won because the other failed to provide that 'enough' factor in all categories the judges were looking for in a MU. On beauty alone, Brook would have lost.
Not being able to speak English is indeed a disadvantage at the time of being interviewed on the final event; this is because half the time they have is allocated for translation, which leaves the answer as half articulated. Therefore, girls that can speak English have the advantage of giving a more complete answer. I think the rules should change and allow extra time for girls that need translation. I don't believe that not being able to speak another language makes you less intelligent.
La mas bella de todas era indiscutiblemente Verna Vásquez, y esto lo digo a pesar de que Lia Victoria Borrero de quien los panameños nos sentimos muy orgullosos estaba dentro de estas finalistas... La gran tirada de Verna fue precisamente la respuesta que dio en esta fase... Le falto mostar tanta personalidad y esto por tratar de hablar ingles que le salió fatal.

Miss Curacao can speak 4 languages. At least she made the effort to answer back in the language in which the question was formulated (YOUR STUPID LANGUAGE). So, be thankful for that, you BITCH.
Funny that the judge who asked Miss Italy's question forgot to send in her score, you clearly see that she forgot and tries to send it in after the scores are shown.
Miss USA and Venezuela's answers were so clever that they were guaranteed a spot in the top 3. Trinidad/Tobago's however, was the usual we are models and we have brains drivel. I would have Curacao in the final 3 instead of T/T. Italy became a one-issue woman in regards to her race. Panama lacked that certain IT factor. If it was down to the Curacao, USA and Venezeula, would Brooke still win on the strength of her answer? We will never know.

Venezuela´s answer was the best so far, even today after 12 years later, It was one of the best answer in the history of the pageant, very spontaneous and honest. Curacao was nervous in her answer but I think the judges should put her into the final 3. USA was so smart was no as beautiful as the others; this year´s winner was the Brook´s brain, no her beauty.
nope, Curacao was "nervous", everyone agrees on that . But she gave a very good answer. She was actually forced to repeat what she spoke about in the interview round, about her own company.
Totally right, she is Miss Verna Vasquez, the Miss Universe of 1997, even Mr. Osmel Sousa gave her the place that year. But her luck was diffrent that night. But for Curacao she is still the most beautiful Miss Curacao, and second most succesful.
This is the one edition of the Miss U when I seriously doubt how the eventual winner ended up getting the crown. My bets were Italy and Curacao (and it showed) up to this point.
Then when I heard Brook's answer I was never more wrong. Italy lacked conviction on her answer, and Curacao (even though she's the most beautiful, and a translator was present) was simply a bundle of nerves.
Politics! Politics! Politics! I really loved Miss Italy and Miss Curacao. I think if Italy represented an African or Caribbean Country, she would of had a better chance of winning, for Miss Curacao, That was just Biased. She did give a good Answer!
I have to be honest, I never liked Brook Lee. Her Dress was ugly, she should not have scored as high in swimsuit and if she was representing any other country, I bet you she would not have placed At All in Miss Universe 1997. Real Talk!

Brooke Lee is wonderful! I didn't like her before and wonder how the heck did she win? ...but now I like her because she is a true angel. Beauty with no personality goes to ZERO.

When it comes down to it, Brooke had the wit and personality to win!! I would have ranked them like this to get to the top three: 1) USA; 2) Panama; 3) Venezuela, 4) Trinidad and Tobago; 5) Curacao and 6) Italy (who needs to be eating pork chops and mashed potatoes!!)

i wonder why venezuela's candidates did undergo a hard training...when they can answer in a very spontaneous and natural way.... i think for this year,venezuela aced it.... answer a very serious question in a very spontaneous way.....

Venezuela´s answer was the best so far, even today after 12 years later, It was one of the best answer in the history of the pageant, very spontaneous and honest. Curacao was nervous in her answer but I think the judges should put her into the final 3. USA was so smart was no as beautiful as the others; this year´s winner was the Brook´s brain, no her beauty.

nope, Curacao was "nervous", everyone agrees on that . But she gave a very good answer. She was actually forced to repeat what she spoke about in the interview round, about her own company.

Totally right, she is Miss Verna Vasquez, the Miss Universe of 1997, even Mr. Osmel Sousa gave her the place that year. But her luck was diffrent that night. But for Curacao she is still the most beautiful Miss Curacao, and second most succesful.

This is the one edition of the Miss U when I seriously doubt how the eventual winner ended up getting the crown. My bets were Italy and Curacao (and it showed) up to this point.
Then when I heard Brook's answer I was never more wrong. Italy lacked conviction on her answer, and Curacao (even though she's the most beautiful, and a translator was present) was simply a bundle of nerves.

Politics! Politics! Politics! I really loved Miss Italy and Miss Curacao. I think if Italy represented an African or Caribbean Country, she would of had a better chance of winning, for Miss Curacao, That was just Biased. She did give a good Answer!

I have to be honest, I never liked Brook Lee. Her Dress was ugly, she should not have scored as high in swimsuit and if she was representing any other country, I bet you she would not have placed At All in Miss Universe 1997. Real Talk!
