If you want to zoom on the moon you have to use a tripod. With this much zoom every little shake makes the picture very blurry and even loses the object (in this case the Moon :) ).

I like the digital zoom of this camera. If I can compromise the picture quality, I'd go for 60x max. Normally I wouldn't go after 35x.
