The retreat at The Abby in Nashville for ministerial students predates the Emergent Church movement by about three decades. I was a psychology student back in the '70s, so i didn't go, but many a good Nazarene pastor today did go while attending TNC. It has never been a secret. I get a little annoyed when reference is made to it as if it is something "new" that came along with the Emergent junk.
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears...
2 Timothy 4:3
17Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. 18For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
@ Ebo, So it's been going on a long time. What's the point? It's still evil.
