by joystick i meant a controller for the pc (a logitech thing) But, controllers aren't always better. I like first person,, and mostly third person shooters too alot better with mouse and keyboard. But these kind of games and racegames are way better with a controller.

An easier way to do it is not to jump down in between him firing, just run right, down the step, when he fires. Don't jump down or you'll land on the sword, just run! The sword will miss you, then when he finishes firing run left again.
