What else is new? Any1 with 1/2 a brain can figure out that "freedom"+ democracy has never existed. There isnt supposed to be elections in times of war. However, its not really a war. Its da private mining & natural resource corporations "using" amerika & other nato country's tax sponsered militaries so they can spread the "humanitarian" principles of "democracy". of course da tax paying populace gets 2 pay & sactifice a few souls. no big deal. +plus dont 4get 2 wear an opium poppy4remembrnce
@HumanityWins Turnout really dropped in the mid 70's after watergate - but you are right - they did not shoot JFK in an effort to INCREASE voter participation by American citizens of conscience.
Every thing that has happened over the last 50 years has led to less people voting = and so things get worse - not better.
@gov360dotorg Perhaps it has something to do with the feeling of ''not worth voting for'' in some cases, but as well, after a crisis when a chaos has set in, perhaps a feeling of uncertainty ensues and the people are simply easily led. Vourage to decide necessitates confidence. Voting perhaps necessitates the principal of being a leader oneself. When people are in the dark they grope, wait, and shut up with an occasional plea for ''help'' like lambs to wolves.
And my original statement was sarcasm about how we should appreciate the ability to vote. If we didnt have it, maybe we would appreciate it. And what has Obama done that controls your life? Stop being ridiculous. Last I checked no one is stopping you from living your life. If anythign limited our freedom was the patroit act passed by Bush or Prop 8 that said only certaon people can marry. Stop reading blogs of crazy people and use a little common sense.
I love how peopel play that whole tearing up the constitution or violating the constitution talk. I wil ask the same I asked peopel who said the same thing about Bush....How is he violating the constitution. Considering I am a constitutional expert, I doubt you have evidence to your claim. Have you even read of studied the constitution ? Or do you rely on cliches you heard someone else said? He has never violated the constitution and you know it. Like he is not a muslim or not born in US.
people just like to whine or complaine and provide little for solutions or problem solving. We criticize but never present what we want and how. Maybe if we werent allowed to vote anymore we'd come to our senses
@Beroean30 What are you doing to present on what we want? One last thing, we have a right to vote and we should vote. When I read your comment I thought to myself, here is another Obama. The so called president of USA is taking our constitution and wiping his ass with it. What senses would you have if there was no vote? I'll tell you, a man like Obama controlling your every second of life and telling you when your time is up.
@gov360dotorg When turn out is low in a midterm, the people who didn't vote get sad and angry and take there frustration out in presidential elections. If trends are true 2010 will be good for the GOP and 2012 will be good for the Dems.
Yet this video begs the issue; WHY do people not vote. It isn't simply laziness as they (eg) go to the dentist, to school, the gym... none of those are easy but they PAY OFF. Choosing btwn 2 nearly identical (in fact) parties are seen as a waste of time. Chiding people to do something useless serves no function. If Gov360 were to build a movement that offered meaningful change, people WOULD vote. Since it doesn't, it will remain a futile, lonely scold and accomplish nothing.

Having to choose between the Democrats or the Republicans is like being asked "What would you rather be eaten by: A lion or a tiger"?
